Thanks for watching my man. If you need any help with patreon, I'm actually an advisor of the company so reach out! I'm going to become a Patron of yours to check and see how you are doing on there! Please put the original video of mine in the description. Explanation of what you are hearing: 120+ Tracks, I'll go back into the session and look for you, but my original version of this is here: ua-cam.com/video/nEwzFF4HeB8/v-deo.html and then on this remixed version I added Tim to half the solo... and boy did he add a lot! -- We've done a lot together since then: Sound of Silence, Bridge over troubled water and we are working on more now. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Wow! What an incredible show of support between UA-camrs! The world needs more of this kindness.
I KNEW IT! Ur da real MVP
Jase, Peter Hollens is amazing, please check out his other work! I found him through PTX and became an instant fan!. As others have said he is a master of layering tracks, the "choir" you hear in his videos are usually mostly him. He has an amazing body of work as does his wife Evynne Hollens, another fantastic vocalist (the work on her channel is usually with instrumental accompaniment), they have many duets together. If you want to see him with Avi Kaplan look for Black is The Color of My True Love's Hair. Love, love, love Peter Hollens!! ♥♥♥
Ummm, forgot to tell ya ---- Peter watches reactions :) (oh, so does HF individuals! Ummm, just an FYI)
Amazing to see you respond to his video
Peter Hollins does a collab with Avi Kaplan too (Black is the Color of my True Love's Hair)
I would also really recommend the cover he does with Jonathan of Rains of Castamere (Game of Thrones). The accapella version is my favorite over the metal version but both are good
Yes yes yes!
He needs to do Black is the Color of my True Love's Hair! Been trying to get him to do it for a while
Cant upvote this enough
Yes! One of my favorite collaborations with Avi Kaplan. Also check out Peter Hollens “From Now On” - The Greatest Showman too! Love his stuff!
Tim never blinks once just stares into your soul as he does his thing, what a great cover.
I saw one slight blink as the camera came back on him at one point. But you have to really look for it! :)
What's wonderful about Peter Hollens is that he truly lets his guests shine! he's amazingly talented and humble!! He makes my heart smile!!
Tim can definitely drop the bottom out of a song, can't he? Love listening to his voice!!!
You should listen to Peter Hollen’s cover of “I See Fire,” also from the Hobbit!
That's the very first song by Peter Hollens I ever heard. I was hooked!
Yas!
Holy freakin' flying fish! Never heard low notes like that before.
He has some much lower ones if you look him up.
Another kick ass song from them is Sound of Silence. I highly suggest it
And “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Greensleeves”.
The Sound of Silence is really, really well done too!
PENTATONIX
Is it as good as Disturbed's cover of Sound of Silence because that is just a feast for the ears.
@@yelsahblah3270 it is very different. Closer to the original song. The tenor and bass voices work really well for that song too, though Tim also stretches his tenor pipes.
I read somewhere Tim was on a tropical island and Peter was in Oregon when filmed. They filmed it separately and were able to match the pitches, tempo and tamber of the song perfectly. Perter covered baritone, tenor, and more! Crazy good talents on display.
Every home fry loves to watch people react to this one
Since you are a fan of Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan, you should also check out:
Peter Hollens & Avi Kaplan - Black is the Color
Peter Hollens & Tim Faust - Sound of Silence
The Hound and the Fox, featuring Tim Faust from Home Free singing "We Three Kings" will amaze you too!
WOW - yeah man..this is blowing my ears into pieces wow
Thanks Jennifer!
Peter is a beast of an arranger. Someone else wrote that both Tim and Avi’s very best work is with Peter and I truly agree. Peter understands his guests’ strengths and weaknesses and arranges accordingly. He’s also super humble and really lets his guest shine. Peter has already done Misty Mountains by himself and it was epic. But he rearranged an already complex song because Tim. Watch his Skyrim theme with Lindsay Sterling.
Peter Hollens is great! Definitely check out more of his stuff!
This is one of my favourite Peter Hollens and Tim Foust collabs. It makes every hair at the nape of my neck stand on end, every time. I've lost count how many times I've played it. Glad you liked it, too.
I just stumbled upon this channel today, and I have thoroughly enjoyed what I've seen so far! I like how you're trying different genres of music as well, that's awesome. If you get the chance, you should check out Ignite-Wagakki Band; it's Japanese folk metal.
Peter and his wife both have channels and their music is gorgeous. Also, Peter can do 70+ layers in a song!
You should listen to Peter Hollens Pirates of the Caribbean medley!! It's so cool!!
Yes, that is Tim.
Yes in the movie it would have been 12 voices, the dwarves, so for 2 guys to do it even layered is awesome.
This song allows basses to be able stretch and amaze people
That deep note was made using the growl technique, basically you yse the other set of vocal quoards, which makes a sound that really deep (sorry for any misspelling, English isnt my first languagd)
Probably a similar technique to some of the other, heaver music on my channel. Thanks for rocking with me! 🤘
I love that version
Now that you think you know how amazing Tim's voice is you should check out Home Fred's cover of Mayday 😊😊😊. PS loving your reactions!!!!
Well - OF COURSE THEY ROCK
Hey Jase. I have a few Songs by the german Rockband Rammstein for you. The first one is the song "Ohne dich" from the 2004 album "Reise, Reise". My second pick is "Donaukinder" from the 2009 album "Liebe ist für alle da".
Enjoy
Check out Peter Hollens - The Parting Glass! It is amazing!
CHILLS
Tim has a 5 octave range, so he could add in several tracks. And Peter's range is very good, as you've just seen and heard.
check out Home Free featuring Peter Hollins in there take on Amazing Grace.
Peter’s I see fire cover is amazing!!! You should check it out!!!
Another great cover that Peter does is Into the West.
Lord of the rings is my favorite movie, trilogy, whatever. Love rainy days covered in blanket and 12 hrs of LOTR’s. A perfect day.
Clamavi De Profundis. another accapella group. the Song of Durin is my favorite.
Clamavi de Profundis: Song Of Durin. You want range and layers? Go there.
"Tim, you're not going to be allowed back on this channel if you keep doing other worldly shit like that."
Peter is a great singer. He usually sings all the parts except when he is singing on his wife's channel (Evynne Hollens). I think that Evynne is an even better singer and when they co-lab, it is magical. Check them out.
The one with the deep baritone is part of a group freedom something not sure of the name
Warriors- Voiceplay. Please
It says at the start of the video “120 tracks...”
I believe J.R would have really loved this.
How about My Silent Call by Butterfly Coma
The Hobbit!!! Johnathan Young does a good version of this song as well. Also, Celtic Woman Siúil a rún will steal your breath.
Halestorm I am the fire
Hi Jase. How are you doing? Love you my friend
That mans voice could summon a dragon.
If you liked this you have to react to Peter and avi black is the color of my true loves hair
Peter Hollens, in addition to being a wonderful singer, is a master at laying tracks...there are only the 2 guys here...but their backing voices are layered. Awesome!
Agreed and if you want your mind COMPLETELY blown by Peter and Tim as a combination, I would recommend Sound of Silence! Peter is a layering genius
in a pinned comment, peter mentions there are 120+ layered tracks here. i can't even imagine the amount of work that must have taken to record and make
Sometimes he uses other voices though, to amazing effect. Honestly, Peter's version of "You Raise Me Up" is second only to Josh Groban's (my favorite version as it has has VERY special meaning to me), and it's VERY VERY close, simply because while Josh has the beautiful orchestra, Peter's is all vocal. In fact, given that, I'll go ahead and say it's on par with Josh's. And that is NOT a compliment I give lightly!
Peter is known for singing all the parts in his stuff (except when he has a ft like this) but then he just layers all his recordings together to make a choir of himself
His is one of the best "Parting Glass" out there.
Black is the color of my true loves hair, avi kaplan and peter hollens. Please. I promise you wont be disappointed
yes please
MegaPowGaming YES!!!! This is one of my favorites!!!!
Yeees!! Masterpiece!!
So few reactions to this masterpiece.
I love Avi Kaplan, and Peter Hollens is good but I really really wasn't a fan of that video. Not sure why.
Another Peter Hollens song taken from the Hobbit is called “Hobbit Drinking Medley” and features, rather randomly, the one and only Hank Green! It’s a ridiculously fun song!
LOVE THAT ONE I have it on my playlist!
That is one of my favorites and honestly, Hank doesn't have a bad singing voice either. Caught me off guard the first time and just makes me smile every time thereafter.
I know Hank Green from the Sci Show, and I didn’t think he could sing, until I heard that. It was AWESOME! I always crack up near the end of the song(the last part of it).
@@saphiro007 you should look up some of his original songs- phesant pluckers son is fun
If you want a fun one that uses lots and lots of layering check out Peter and Hank Greene's "Hobbit Drinking Medley". Great one that gets little play.
Agreed. This is one of my personal favorites by Peter.
Tim has actually blown speakers with his amazing voice!
So has Avi. There is a video of it somewhere in UA-cam land.
Tim has an amazing range.
So Peter Hollens has a *Lord Of The Rings cover album.* My favorites are his covers of 'Song Of The Lonely Mountain' and 'I See Fire' which you should totally do a reaction to.
I See Fire by Peter is AMAZING!
@@jasonpankey69 Oh I totally forgot about his colab with Hank Green doing 'Hobbit Drinking Medially' I should have included that in my favorite list.
Song of the Lonely Mountain is one of my favorites. He kills it.
@@everardusbogardus3167 That song really get my blood going.
You should react to “Moana Medley” By Voiceplay👍👍
PLEASE : D
Die beiden haben so wunderbare Stimmen....Mysterium....
If you want something beautiful, react to Greensleeves by Peter Hollens cover with Tim Foust featured in it
Excellent suggestion, and done in 1 take, too. I would also suggest, Bridge Over Trouble Water( one of my fav collabs with Tim. Their voices sync so well together), and Sounds of Silence.
Ted harvick lets just say all of them are quite good and entertaining
Had never heard that song and it was so awesome! Holy crap!
Yes! My favorite thing on my channel is when I see a comment like this - when someone hears something they've never heard before and they like it. THIS is a win for me. Thank you for being here Jennifer 🤘
Wait you guys never watched The Hobbit?!?!?! Well then I highly suggest watching it. It is by far my favorite trilogy
Oh and this song is about a Dwarf kingdom in the misty mountains (literally in the mountain) that has been taken over by a dragon
You have to listen to "Greensleeves" by these two!! You wont regret it :D
Awesome! The one in the movie is fantastic too! The lead dwarf is pretty great and has a deep voice too! No where near Tim, but still very beautiful.
From the moment Tim started singing and you scooted your chair back i wanted to tell "Yes! Told you!" Lol
You are doing a great job with this channel. I have been listening to reaction videos for a couple years now and yours is the first I have subscribed too. You should check out some other peter hollens stuff. He does a collaboration with Malukula ( I probably spelled that wrong.) anyway the Witcher lullaby is absolutely haunting. That's for your efforts they are very much appreciated.
Thank you for your kind words, as well as for being here! The Witcher Lullaby sounds great, I just might have to put this one on the list! 🤘
if you do peter hollens, consider the following:
drinking medley ft hank green
some nights
hanging tree
jenny of oldstones
hellfire
mad world
carry on wayward son
circle of life
scars to your beautiful
I second this list!
I love Peter Hollens, he does a ton of great work. I also really like The Hanging Tree by him. But for another Pentatonix could you do I'll Run? It's an original song of theirs and its amazing. :)
Can u the please listen to this Tim foust’s cover of I can’t help falling in love. It shows a great amount of what his voice can do. I beg of u
Yeeessss!!!
Wicked Medly - Peter Hollens & Nick Pitera
Peter actually does a medley with the touring cast of Wicked, which is worth watching.
@@maisiesummers42 Both I think are worth reacting to.
"I half expect Gollum to come popping out any second"
Might I suggest listening to "Gollum's Song" by Peter Hollens? :) :)
I have loved that version since the first time i heard it. Great great review, and how amazing is it to see Peter come in and leave a great comment. Wonderful!
“Black is the color of my true loves hair” by Peter Holland and AVI KAPLAN! It’s another great collab!
You should react to Home Free singing Amazing Grace with Peter or they also sing Greensleeves.
Next for sure you need to react to Black is the Color of My True Loves Hair with Avi and Peter Hollins.
Yes Jase.. Peter Hollens does several parts..he always lays several tracks at different voice parts. HE IS AWESOME! Check out his version of I See Fire :)
yes good one to check out. I agree
🔥🔥🔥😍CHILLS EVERY TIME 🔥🔥🔥✌🏽 Peter has an entire Lord of the Rings Album with this killer song on it 😉🔥🔥✌🏽
I need to dress up as a Viking and go pillage something. That was epic 🔥
Man please watch the Irish favourites rubber bandits. Absolute mad craic. Horse outside and black man in our gang are bangers, you'd love them. Great stuff.
Disturbed - The sound of silence
When Tim started singing and you pushed your chair away you looked like you were going to cry because of the beauty of his voice and I just wanted to hug you! LOL I know his voice isn't new to you anymore but you react the same way I do when I hear this type of skill and these types of voices. Thanks for another awesome video.
Peter is amazing, Tim is amazing. If you want to hear Tim's 5+ octave range listen to Home Free's cover of Mayday.
If you dig the deep-voiced dwarf music, you absolutely must check out Clamavi De Profundis’ renditions of Durin’s Song, Misty Mountains, and other Tolkien poems set to music by them and others. They’re a family of basses and baritones, and they absolutely do not get the attention they deserve. Check out Durin’s Song, seriously. And make sure your bass boost button is ON.
Im not a huge Hobbit fan.. but this really shook me. I have seen Home Free live a few times, and Tim's bass is so low it literally shakes the entire venue.. Last time we saw them we were down in Raleigh NC visiting my daughter who was in the row in front of us.. I leaned forward to say something to her and almost landed in her lap the vibration from Tim was so HUGE!! Enjoy.. if you get a chance, Watch Adam (the beatboxers ) arrangement of Do You Hear What I Hear? Folsom Prison Blues is awesome too.. Tim looks so evil.. especially when he smirks after hitting the inevitable super low note.. and Adam Rupp the beatboxer just looks like he needs to be medicated lol.. Thanks!!
You should Watch more by Peter Hollens, he´s amazing! I recommend
* Toss a coin to your witcher
* I see fire
* Epic disney villans medley
Another great great Hobbit song is the Song of The Lonely Mountain from Peter Hollens!
It is quite a bit faster than this one and I think you would really enjoy some of the layering in there.
React to Peter Hollens and Avi, "black is the color of my true love hair"
Absolutely stunning vocals, amazing talent.
Love Peter Hollens , he's very creative and such a great singer !! Hope you will react to Peter and Avi "True color of my true love's hair"
Do «Black is the coulor of my true loves hair» with Avi and Peter!! Absolute jawdropper
This is the kind of music you want to hear when you want peace, serenity and pure bliss... Great collab of two great voices in the music kingdom... Great reaction!
React to Peter Hollens & Avi Kaplan - Black is the colour of my true love’s hair
My .... This was the best rendition of Misty Mountains ever. I was crying on the first verse I think. Breathtaking, spellbinding, haunting, beautiful...no words...
You should react to Kuliko Jana by Sauti Sol ft. RedFource Choir. It is a Swahili song with a Kenyan school choir, but it is incredible. I'm a TCK from Cali and would love to see Kenya represented
This version is great, but not a impressive as
The Hobbit - Misty Mountain //The Danish National Symphony Orchestra
Warbringers: Jaina - Daughter of the Sea - Peter Hollens
Tim is the Ultimate Bass!!! Home Free is the BEST A CAPELLA GROUP OF ALL TIMES!!!
Oh what an awesome reaction! You didn't have to say a word after the video....your facial expressions during the video said it all! Now you should react to Peter and Tim singing Sound of Silence! If you want one just by Peter....one of my favorites is Circle of Life from the Lion King! You will be amazed!
Definitely check out Voctaves Disney love melody. It has Ms. Maldonado from PTX.
If you liked Misty Mountain you should watch Hobbit Drinking Medley by Peter Hollens with Hank Green
You should react to home free’s cover of sold by John Michael Montgomery
Yayy! You've finally found Peter Hollens! love that guy so much
CRAZY. JAW DROPPING, MIND BLOWING, TOOK MY BREATH AWAY!!!
