I bought Retro games from Gamestop online and expected the worst...but we got the best! Tons of GameCube games to add to the store! #VideoGames #GameStop #Games
Never fails Retro delivers again with another great video. I swear you always have so much 🔥🔥🔥 coming into the store. Minus those Barbie’s at the end. Always looking forward to the next.
GameStop owes Rick for the bump in online sales after this video 😂… please get a online store open, would love to support your store from Sioux Falls SD 🍻
These game store videos are such a treat to watch every time, my thanks for that, Rick. xD Such cool nostalgia stuff there, absolutely love it. Game cube is definitely retro. The ghostbusters movie poster is out of this world, I remember seeing those on movie theaters when this movie came out, gud times, gud times 😁😁
You should consider hanging material from the ceing joists. If it were two sided that would be the best for esthetics. Yiu could possibly position them with some steady wire etc. So happy you're sharing a part of your personal journey. Happy Holidays to you family and All.
Nice haul! I did the same and bought Kirby Airride, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario and a few more all through GameStop last month and got the same results! Was NOT expecting any box art for Gamecube games. Was pleasantly surprised!
I’d love to see an online store for your trade in merchandise. Mark-up the prices from what you sell in the store and then provide them on UA-cam in the description as links as you make trades. People in other states would pay shipping and an increased rate to buy what you show on these videos. (I’d buy the Oreo Barbie, the Metroid Poster that has 4 parts, or the Pokemon Celebration Posters) ❤ thanks for the amazing content!
I think it's great you took the positive feedback to get more 90s and 80s GIRLs things in the store. I think that's a great move! The 90s nostalgia is real and the other half of us was there too! I get nostalgia seeing things my sisters and my best friend back then who was a girl used to play with. So RAD.
I've ordered retro games (specifically gamecube) from Gamestop in the past (around 2018-2019) and it really helped to get my collection going. Cheaper prices than competition, and I've had pretty good luck too. I'd say when I ordered from Gamestop I'd have a 65-75% rate of getting cases/ cover art... and yes even gamecube controllers I've had good luck with! All official. Its definitely a gamble because yes I've gotten plenty of game only stuff from them too, but if you're collecting JUST to play physical games (not worried about box art, original cases, etc) then it's a great way to save money... and if you're collecting to display/ be proud of then it's a gamble but it mayyyyyy be worth it to try lol.
Last Battle & Space Harrier II were 2 of the 6 Genesis launch titles. Sealed too!👀🔥, bloody awesome! I was there the day you got the McDonald's SMB3 display! Hope to see you there again in May!🍻
You can still request the displays from the wholesalers. My buddy has a small game store and gets them. Also, if you have not already put the new switch games on your website and eBay store. Take advantage of the wholesale prices you get from the store. If you're ordering more, they will definitely give posters and displays, and it would be worth it for that alone even if you're just breaking even selling them online after fees.
@Playerz714 it depends he orders a lot because he sells on eBay amazon macari, his store, and his stores website, plus he goes in with another 2 other small store chains that have a few stores each in new york work together on new releases. publishers like nintendo, sega, and capcom, will sell to them when there buring a case of each game at a time but when they only need a few games cause there not selling they get from wholesalers individually like ingram entertainment, mbc video games, and a few others. The publishers give the standees and posters with each case you buy of each game(i think 30). When buying from wholesalers, they still sometimes do it if you ask and are ordering a fair amount, but if you're just ordering a few of each game, probably not.
Great Gamestop pick up! I got Fire emblem path of radiance for 120 USD on 2020 with a coupon and it was just missing the manual! There's always deals out there just don't give up! Good Luck everyone!
Yes, gamestop will surprise you! A couple weeks back I walked into one of my gamestops and they had Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, and Star Fox Assault...just sitting in there! CIB!!!! But it's a crap shoot when they actually have stuff. You gotta check everyday.
I want those animal Crossing promo things. I have so much promo stuff. Last Christmas ago I got like 200 posters from my gamestop. Most recently I got the display case with key they use to put ds/3ds/psp/vita games in. I am drooling waiting for my Christmas haul this yr lol
Rick, you need to start a series where people coming in the store to trading in/sell stuff. Similar to what Pawns Stars do (minus the fake production). That would be awesome.
I think what's cool if you buy or if you did buy all those poster ads is you can get them mounted and then change them throughout the year and seasons and whatever on sale like you know? Great for decoration and mixing it up throughout the year basically LOL
If you are out of space on the walls for posters/standees, maybe use the ceiling, unless that is against code? I imagined looking up and seeing those giant standees on the ceiling and thought it'd be cool. Also, maybe some hanging displays for things that are double sided?
I pretty much picked up all the same titles as you from Gamestop. I heard about it too late to grab any of the Zelda gamecube games they had available.
Here's an idea Rick. With all the promo stuff your not using why not frame them and then sell them to your customers. I'm sure there's a few people out there that would love them for their house or man caves. Love your videos man. Definitely going to have to come by there some time.
2:05 I vaguely remember that 360 bundle, can’t remember if it was retailer exclusive or not. Edit: It was a Walmart exclusive bundle Holiday 2014. It’s under 360E Special Editions in Wikipedia.
That was an official Ghostbuster theatrical poster and you should definitely frame it. Spend the money to frame it professionally. That is a sweet poster man.
I ordered some from them too a couple weeks ago and 9/14 I ordered came with original cases. Only one didn't work which sucked but my billy hatcher, twin snakes and baten kaitos origins did :3. Just waiting on my code Veronica and skies of arcadia from them.
Yeah, I noticed that some of those are stock cases and not original ones. I don't even think it had the tabs to hold a manual in the Monkey Ball 2 case.
Retro for me would be atari 2600, intelivision, pong, c64, spectrum 48, acorn electron, vectrex, og xbox, og ps1, og ps2, game cube, snes, nes, master system, mega drive, atari lynx, Sega game gear, og game boy, game boy color or advance etc. So many so many games
I feel like anything considered "retro" is a red, yellow, and white composite connection on any console in the past 15-20 years. Although its subjective with anything nostalgic for anyone. Hinting the word "retrospective"
GC/PS2/OG XBox games are direct from the corporate warehouse in Texas, & they have a policy of not sending retro games with manuals b/c retro games all had the section at the end to add your own notes & they were worried someone would draw or write naughty things & parents would go to the media about it so corporate decided to just throw out retro manuals to be safe. He doesn’t post there anymore b/c I don’t think he works at GS anymore, but one of the lead people at the warehouse used to post on the GS Reddit & said that & it blew everyone’s mind.
Do you resurface games for $. I have a stack id like resurfaced and will pay per game and for shipping back and forth for like 20 games. I have ps1, gamecube and wii sports and resorts. For some reason, the resorts won't work after i use the jfjEasy Pro, so I was hoping a good machine would help.
I came across a bunch of she ra figures and my little pony. Both 80's I need to find some girls into that stuff because Im not sure if I want to display it lol
FYI Rick. Bought 800$ worth gamecube stuff from gsmestop. 640 returned for it not working. Even buffed them from video game store. Gamestop gamecube games. Never again
Yup Gamestop has been selling retro stuff on their website for years now. It's always hit or miss with the cases though. You have a 50/50 chance of not getting a case.
I have no problem with game cube now..but when I was in high school the game cube was disliked by everyone..20 years later its beloved by everyone.. I live in a twilight zone episode as I get older..
Never fails Retro delivers again with another great video. I swear you always have so much 🔥🔥🔥 coming into the store. Minus those Barbie’s at the end. Always looking forward to the next.
I’d love to see a little bit more detail on the prices offered/paid for trade ins. Adds that little relatability/realism to the exchanges 😊
GameStop owes Rick for the bump in online sales after this video 😂… please get a online store open, would love to support your store from Sioux Falls SD 🍻
2 years too late🙃
No need for your support bud
Online store would be huge for him. Would take some work but if he set aside a week or so to list everything it would be mint
Go to double jump game store in Vancouver WA they have a retail store and online store and a UA-cam channel
@@ericraymond3615 I love that place. Didn't know they had a UA-cam channel, though. Gonna subscribe now!
These gamestore videos are my favorite thing in youtube right now, keep 'em coming Rick!! Hope that you could upload more frequently
Me too!

😂
Hahaha, I feel the same way! :D

@@Lissetete yes it our stores he would of never of had it without the viewers and supporters so we feel apart of it
@@Lissetete Yeah, Rick's experiences are mine as well because I'm "living vicariously", so 'we' own a shop!! ;)
I love your videos so much fun and interesting on how you run a game store this is amazing wish you all but great success for years to come

Outstanding video as usual...good box from.gamestop!
Wow it's almost as if they're priced without the manual! And everyones way to excited!!!!

Should open up in Orlando Florida!! Your store would never be slow 😅
I hope you get an online option soon. I want to support your store but live too far away!
When they say where’s the girl stuff, they mean GI Joe ;)
@theretrolife5372 if you need someone to set up and maintain the website for you let me know my friend. Would be happy to help. Great idea.
Dude, this is my new favorite show lol

That's the 360 I have and didn't know it was from a cod bundle how cool! Thanks rick!
The wall of nostalgia is sick Rick.
Love these videos. Hope you are selling stuff too lol
I ordered a shit ton on gamecube games too, 4 of each of the pricey ones , ALL OF THEM with the cases
Rick, you need to start a series where people coming in the store to trading in/sell stuff. Similar to what Pawns Stars do (minus the fake production).

dig that nostalgia wall!
I hope you dont accept every trade! Seems like you will have so much overhead. Love your videos!!!!!!!
crazy shiny safe ^^ looks like one from a movie ^^
Wow. They made me feel old. I was 4 or 5 and i remember seeing Ghostbusters in the theater
I pretty much picked up all the same titles as you from Gamestop. I heard about it too late to grab any of the Zelda gamecube games they had available.
Super Monkey Ball 2 was my favorite game as a kid. I got the anniversary one for the switch for my wife for Christmas!
Here's an idea Rick. With all the promo stuff your not using why not frame them and then sell them to your customers. I'm sure there's a few people out there that would love them for their house or man caves. Love your videos man. Definitely going to have to come by there some time.
Thanks for buying out all their gamecube games rick
I’m so happy to be part of the retro gaming community
Ya, I'd just put up a sign to ask about cords and save the space. That way you still have a chance to sell them.
Cool video games posters
2:05 I vaguely remember that 360 bundle, can’t remember if it was retailer exclusive or not.
Edit: It was a Walmart exclusive bundle Holiday 2014. It’s under 360E Special Editions in Wikipedia.
Does your store have an online shop ? Someone please drop a link if it does or to an ebay/amazon account they fulfill through. Thanks
Most Gamestops still have a drawer behind the counter with some retro stuff but it's usually only wii, ds, 3ds, psp, 360 or ps3.
Watching this on monday thinking of a slow day at work after hearing you say tuesday's are slow😓
That was an official Ghostbuster theatrical poster and you should definitely frame it. Spend the money to frame it professionally. That is a sweet poster man.
I love the GameStop mystery box videos
Good stuff man
The moment Pokemon go background music started playing, it hit hard. Granted I still play Everyday lol
The other day I actually scored a copy of Star Fox 64, Authentic, at GameStop
I ordered some from them too a couple weeks ago and 9/14 I ordered came with original cases. Only one didn't work which sucked but my billy hatcher, twin snakes and baten kaitos origins did :3. Just waiting on my code Veronica and skies of arcadia from them.
All that promo stuff was so cool. Hope you tested all those games you ordered, low quality resurfacers have a tendency to destroy GQ games
I love that Jason picture of the power rangers he played as
Your store is super cool
that NBA Jam shirt is SICKKKKK
Man that earthworm jim poster !!
Cool the GC games with cover art, you sure there not just reprinted covers? If not that's nice.🕹🎮👍🎄
You and I had the same thought. Might be reprinted art. Also some of the cases are not traditional gamecube either from the few Rick opened.
Yeah, I noticed that some of those are stock cases and not original ones. I don't even think it had the tabs to hold a manual in the Monkey Ball 2 case.
I have always considered anything pre-HDMI as retro! So anything before the PS3/Xbox360 era I would say is retro.
Hey Rick, could I buy the sword and shield display boxed from you? I already have diamond/pearl and scarlet/violet! Thank you!
Retro for me would be atari 2600, intelivision, pong, c64, spectrum 48, acorn electron, vectrex, og xbox, og ps1, og ps2, game cube, snes, nes, master system, mega drive, atari lynx, Sega game gear, og game boy, game boy color or advance etc. So many so many games
Is it possible to buy online from your store? I would LOVE to purchase the DK on the wall of nostalgia if it's for sale
I really like the Pawn Stars game shop idea. you are filling a niche that I didnt know I needed.
I feel like anything considered "retro" is a red, yellow, and white composite connection on any console in the past 15-20 years. Although its subjective with anything nostalgic for anyone. Hinting the word "retrospective"

Now the question is, do they pitch them all, or are they sitting on the biggest treasure trove of GCN/PS2/Xbox manuals on the planet?
No they’re thrown away.
Man that ghost busters poster is so siiicck
Dude with the promo material definitely got that stuff from a GameStop
6:27 SPINE CHILLS. SPINE CHILLS. The 80's kid in me is crying 😢 SPINE. CHILLS. Oh. My. God.
8:09 Earthworm Jim, BRO!?
Inspiring people to sell and flip stuff from N-B canada im thinking of starting out soon but dont really know how
That final edition 360!
I feel so old. “ I’ve never seen that in person cause I’m so young”.
That was me (the guy in the green jacket). 😂
How are you able to get them shipped? My only option is pickup in store which is useless since they don't have them nearby
Some of those cases are standard dvd cases. Not gamecube cases. But still OK I guess.
I need that Ghostbusters poster!!!!!
You should put your store online, Id buy from ya!
"FOR MY STORE!"
20+ year old systems are for sure retro
Wish I lived closer. You ever considered an online store? Or do you sell on Ebay?
earth worm Jim is one my favorite shows as a kid
I came across a bunch of she ra figures and my little pony. Both 80's I need to find some girls into that stuff because Im not sure if I want to display it lol
What are those black tape stickers on the GameCube cases?
FYI Rick. Bought 800$ worth gamecube stuff from gsmestop. 640 returned for it not working. Even buffed them from video game store. Gamestop gamecube games. Never again
OMG RIP JDF, LOVE YOU ALWAYS
When are you going to have a website and can you sell laserdisc movies
Maybe I could start my own game store.
Yup Gamestop has been selling retro stuff on their website for years now. It's always hit or miss with the cases though. You have a 50/50 chance of not getting a case.
What is the name of your store. There is a item I saw that I would like to purchase. Do you have a website
I have no problem with game cube now..but when I was in high school the game cube was disliked by everyone..20 years later its beloved by everyone.. I live in a twilight zone episode as I get older..
Rick do you still have your old job or are you full time into the store.
people: gamestop is sketchy
also gamestop: this video
R.I.P Jason David Frank the world will never be the same. ❤
Dude been hittin GameStop’s dumpster .
All that promo stuff came from there.
