My husband was diagnosed with type 2 in 2001 when he suffered from 2 stokes due to diabetic seizures. Since his discharge from the hospital, he has been doing well. I have managed to keep his readings between. 102 and 115. His A1C has been a 5 for years. He eats 3. eats a day, no inbetween snacks. Exercise is yard work from his wheelchair using a weed wacker as well as indoor exercises. All of his food portions are controlled and absolutely no sugar unless it is natural in veggies. He never drank, so that helps. My husband has been doing so well doctors ask “ Are you sure you are diabetic.”. Of course doctors know he is, then go on to ask how we do it.

8 tips are, - get active such as 10 mins walk, run etc - get enough sleep - eat low GI food - take berberine - relax - take chromium & magnesium - stay hydrated - eat more fibre
Walk for 30 minutes after eating, portion control, stop drinking sodas and juices, dont eat pass 7 pm, drink lots of water. Vary your exercise, like i walk and ride my bike, then i also do light weights
I like your tips and practice most of them. My body is crazy...no thyroid gland. Take Synthroid, Prednisone for muscle disease and 600 mg Ibuprofen, berberine, magnesium and chromium piclanate. Still glucose 170. Will Not take Metformin..made me very sick. Now What can I do?
I've pretty much been doing everything listed to varying degrees: cutting carbs. and going for fiber or blood sugar lowering foods, taking berberine with meals and exercising after meals per naturopath's prescription, and trying to manage stress. But, I've found the best method of these hands down - most cut and dry (since the other methods are more complicated with other factors) is exercise regularly. I like to walk, do some strength training and dance to Bhangra videos. I've seen my blood sugar lower spot on 3 pts. per minute as I was once told it would with moderate exercise.
I take Berberine and magnesium daily and cannot get blood glucose below 150-160..But I have no thyroid gland for over 60 yrs. I eat correctly most generally. What am I doing wrong?
Berberine, natokinaise, cromium picolinate. Stop using man made vegetable oil . Stop eating sugar corn syrip flour rice and potatoes. This is my fourth year on keto diet. I Am built like tarzan ❤
I am taking Herbs of Gold, Chromium and Berberine. Also taking Milk Thistle for the Liver. I am on a diet of salads for lunch and steamed vegetables or baked vegetables. For Protein, I eat fish, eggs and mushrooms. I drink 3 glasses of Water and 3 cups of Hibiscus Tea.
As far as my experience, whole grains carries the same carbohydrate loads as the refined. Brown rice is just as bad as white. Some legumes are fine, but not all. We had problems with black-eyed peas. But, pintos and navy beans are better. Be careful, and test for yourself often. All expert opinions does not compare to the expert opinion of your glucose meter.

I am bed bound and in so much pain I can’t sleep. I have porridge with soya milk no sugar for breakfast plus 2 raspberries plus two cups of tea, salad and 1 slice of cooked white meat plus a soda water with rhubarb no added sugar or sweeteners and a black coffee for lunch, supper is lean meat or fish with broccoli, carrots, mangetout and cabbage with either sweet potato, brown rice, wholewheat pasta etc. I drink 2 litres or more of plain water as well throughout the day. My sugar levels are more than double what they should be. I have pernicious anemia which doesn’t help.
So, are you under the care of a diabetic doctor? What are your sugars running? Doesn't sound like you have much variety in your meals and food choices, which isn't really good for you. I raised a type 1 diabetic daughter, and I am 65 and I was diagnosed a type 2 when I was 21. I also have severe arthritis, fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease in my whole spine so I live in chronic, severe pain. I became disabled at age 40 (so 25 years now) and I am bed-bound about 90% of my time. But I CAN keep my sugars pretty much under control. I really feel for you. Many people do not understand, do they? God bless...
@@debjudisch5548 my sugars are running between 9 and 14. I do try to mix it up. I have had about a litre and a half of water with a slice of lemon too. I am allergic to all fish and seafood and peanuts. Plus I am lactose intolerant which doesn’t help. My dietician and diabetic nurse have said my diet is really good as are my portion sizes, but my doctor wants me to only have 800 calories maximum a day. No rice, pasta, potatoes or bread and no root vegetables. Because of covid our food shops where I live are not able to get food in so the shops are empty unless I want week old white bread and sugary drinks, and white rice. If I run out of my wholewheat pasta and bread or my brown rice I am stuck.
