Beverly (Turner) is the perfect happy homemaker. Along with her doting husband Eugene (Sam Waterston) and two children, Misty (Ricki Lake) and Chip (Matthew Lillard), she lives a life straight out of Good Housekeeping. But this nuclear family just might explode when Beverly's fascination with serial killers collides with her ever-so-proper code of ethics - transforming her from middle class mom to mass murderer! Soon, the bodies begin to pile up… and suburbia faces a horror even worse than wearing white after Labor Day.

The Movie Within The Movie
This movie has haunted me since I was five. My parents were younger and also really into good comedy and shaped my sense of humor in ways I’m ok with, but I was WAAAAAAY too fucking young to have been anywhere near this movie when they watched it. Idk if I could even watch it today. It just doesn’t seem funny to me and the above is probably why
A five year old wouldn't get this film-it would go way over their head. But even saying that it is a dark comedy so would ultimately be an acquired taste even for adults. I saw it when I was 22 and didn't really get it but thinking back it was probably because I was too young. But now at 36 having matured when I see it I'll laugh more as it is an adult comedy too but even saying that I mean older adult.
I was seven when I saw it. It was super scary !!!
Kathleen Turner was so flawless
How sick lol
