Probably gonna ruffle some feathers here but that ironically fits FF7R pretty well. Of course, the characters and story moments are mostly fantastic and it has a fun combat system but the levels and activities are nothing to write home about and the filler can be pretty egregious at some points. While I absolutely love this game and beaten it 100%, it definitely benefits a lot from the amazing soundtrack. A great example is the bike chase in chapter 18. The spectacle and music is phenomenal but what you are actually doing is pretty bland and overly drawn out.
@@teero121 I agree, but you don't judge a painting by the tools used to make it or by which individual color was used, it's all about the beauty of the whole
Most of the work on the soundtrack for this game was actually not Nobuo Uematsu's doing! I believe the only song he actually composed was Hollow. The talented composers this time are Masashi Hamauzu and Mitsuto Suzuki. This is a fantastic mix!
Man, it is really impressive, so perfect and synchronized that made me cry... I am going to make one similar to yours... you really fed me with many ideas!!!
Credit to Masashi Hamauzu and Mitsuto Suzuki on the arrangements. They said in an interview they really did a lot of work bringing Nobuo's work into the modern era for the new release but also still keeping it very true to the original composition. I say they smashed it out of the park... I mean they even kept the clanking noise in from the original version! So good!
That's like saying "Most of the work on the Moonlight Sonata was done by the London Symphony Orchester and Kent Nagano, not Ludwig von Beethoven!" - Uematsu is the composer, Hamauzu and Suzuki did the arrangement. That is a very different job, but still one that requires a lot of skill and understanding of both music as a whole and the original composition.
imagine being nobuo creates one of the most iconic soundtracks from 1997 and then REDO THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK AND MAKE IT EVEN BETTER THEN IT WAS BEFORE seriously how many musicians can make this music sound epic and modern seriously this shit is fucking hype
From what I've heard, Nobuo-san only composed "Hollow" for this game and Masashi Hamautsu and Mitsuo Suzuki did the other songs. I could be wrong but we should give credit to the other two guys too.
@@MariusBoss11458 yeah of course the others did a wonderful job, but I presume he may have also of course done songs like one winged angel or at least gave pointers and advice, after all its his soundtrack and he wants to make sure its done justice and thankfully it was
Dude this is the best battle version of this game I have ever heard. I mean I have played lots of remix and remasters of this theme and just wow. In the beginning I was like meh a ripoff of the OG theme then the OG theme q'ed up 06:21 and I was choked up instantly. I still get choked up even hearing this. WOW. Just WOW!
For ask much as people joke the intro didnt know how to hold back storywise, the best part is how the MUSIC absolutely intentionally blueballs you with a slow leadup to this and saves the "traditional" rendition till a few big set-pieces in.
You mixed this excellently. I'm actually not a huge fan of the remake score, but I do really like the way you put this all together. I think the large shifts help hide parts where the instrumentation sounds flat vs the original midi, and the progressive parts all make sense together. So, good job!
I'm still searching for another version. Ingame it played when escaping Mako reactor via the tunnels. A percussion and trombone-heavy edit. i used to have it on YT but it got deleted. Anyone got a link?
As someone posted on a JENOVA theme upload: "The composer understands the importance of foreplay."
I honestly loved the buildup to the OG battle theme. The payoff is so good during the intro mission
Music is everything. you can have the cheapest game ever but if the music is good, it'll still be memorable.
Good music will make any game seem way better than it actually is. So true.

This game isn't and was never cheap. It redefined gaming.
That transition to the hideout version is so good 0:57

Interesting. I wonder why he’s listed as the composer on the FF7R OST for the “Let the Battles Begin” tracks if it wasn’t his work.
@@kingkerfuffle3173 He did the original composition, the others should be arrangements/arranged by xyz

1:36 is so heavenly
6:20 is when the tears flowed.
2am in the morning playing the newly released remake on PS4 on April 10th 2020.
The Nostalgia was too real

Whoever was in charge of this OST is absolutely phenomenal. Bravo to all.

the moment this song startet playing... that was the moment I fell in love with the game.
Dude, this was such a cool suite! Nice work! The composers and arrangers of this game are amazing, their music is always so dynamic.

This is a meticulously well mixed version of LTBB! Excellent job.
Limits were meant to be broken.
Perfect gym motivation
Me on the highway after 5 too many Budweisers
Dynamic music in games is pretty rare, hopefully FF VII Remake giving it an AAA spotlight will make it more popular.
0:58 when does this play in the game
Chapter 3-6 somewhere
After you first meet Aerith and fight Shinra guards
Also it plays after the bombing of the 1st reactor when your trying to escape shrina back to sector 7
I love this sound 👌. Thanks for this video
This arrangement is a lot better than the official one on Spotify.
This is the official version no? It's just combining all 3 phases from the tutorial into one
@Banana-cc5rx the ost version orders them differently
The mo-cap must've been an absolute blast to do
Nah this is some insane stuff wallahi
I'm a simple man. If you build up a theme, I will like it.

What type is the first let the battle begins? I liked a lot it!
It’s the field version of Let the Battles Begin! - Break Through
Now this is what i call classic
im playing this game in Octobet 2023 after getting a PS5, played the PS4 version before, HUUGE difference, loading times, graphics and framerate
Just did the same thing and platinum the game. Ps5 version breathed new life into the game! Plays beautifully at 60 fps!
Fav part 6:00
Nice
Now you have to make one of these featuring Rebirth renditions
Best buildup ever
There is a bit of Let Battle Begin present on Midgard Expressway OST (i think that's the name of it), it might be interesting check it out hehe
holy 06:01
I'm still searching for another version. Ingame it played when escaping Mako reactor via the tunnels. A percussion and trombone-heavy edit. i used to have it on YT but it got deleted. Anyone got a link?
Did our main music get taken down?
Nice Soundtrack.
