There is an update in beta right now adding alternative camera controls that resemble more those in KSP, to ease the experience to those with the muscular memory burnt into their brains
They just released the career mode(v1.0) on mobile. It is so user friendly, it's unbelievable! As a KSP fanatic, this game is PERFECT to take on the road when I can't play KSP! Ugh, I can't get enough
Both simulators are much more user friendly versions, are basically like evolutions of, the Orbiter 2010/2016 space simulator, but with built in rocket & vehicle 3D model design that Orbiter never featured. It was a true pain to try to build custom working rockets and landers for Orbiter. LOL The new Parallax Mod for Juno is great for adding some terrain objects like rock boulder fields and trees, adding decent depth/distance perception for landing vehicles.
In my opinion people are too obsessed with little green men JNO is way better than KSP in a lot of ways imo and although i really love Kerbal my favorite space sim game is Juno by a long shot. However, KSP 2 does promise a lot. I mean, I won't be able to play it both because of my PC and my wallet but I'm excited nonetheless
I think it's a good take. I phrased the title very provocatively, but in the end, there is no reason why Juno and KSP 2 can't both be great and coexist next to each other. I am also super excited for KSP 2, I will for sure be playing that as well 😁
I have hundreds of hours in kerbal space program and hundreds of hours in simple rockets 2. People like ksp and say sr2 is shit and stuff. The truth is sr2 has massive pros to it. Firstly it’s made by a smaller studio wheras ksp is owned by a studio that’s owned by take two. With this ksp since the buyout feels like it’s been getting more profit driven. With the addition of 2 DLCs and ksp2 early access costing more then ksp 1 does at full price. It’s also less glitchy from my Experience and can handle a lot of parts. I’ve seen the game handle 1000-5000 parts perfectly fine. Ofc at a point it does lag but is harder to lag then ksp. Another pro to sr2 is aerodynamics. Stock ksp from my experience has very eh aerodynamics. Sure they work but there’s so much that isn’t simulated. For instance banking a plane in ksp doesn’t cause a turning force (wheras it would irl and is how all planes make there turns) sr2 does mostly simulate this effect tho. Even tho ksp was released in 2011 sr2 has wayyyy better Optimization Jut to name a few No sr2 isn’t better. Hi ksp isn’t better There both good and frankly beat each other out to the point there equal imo
This just doesn't have the same charm as KSP. The Kerbals add in so much personality, with their constant accidental successes, seeing their faces as your craft blows up, feeling the sadness (or joy if you're Danny2462) when your Kerbals are killed. They're one of the biggest aspects of why KSP took off (no pun intended), along with the very high modability. While KSP 1 has it's issues (mostly because the game was made originally as a side project by some guys working for a Mexican marketing company with little experience in game development), the charm holds. And KSP 2 will build a new game from the ground up, with very experienced and passionate developers. The Kerbals are what make KSP, 100%. This game, while very good at what it does, lacks the same charm.
120% with you actually! After playing a couple more hours of this, the charm does seem to be lacking quite a bit! I think for the price point, you're still getting a really cool game, but going in expecting KSP Charm, one will be thoroughly dissapointed 😅🙏🏻
@@KaupenjoeTV Yeah, like I said, it is a good game in and of itself, it's not bad, but lacks any charm compared to KSP If we never had KSP, but had this, then I'm certain this game would be the pinnacle of spaceflight simulators
Until they make asparagus stageing easier, answer is a solid no.while i know its possible in juno,in kerbal we add a fuel line and from there is automatic. We need that in juno.also we need a rapier for ssto use
KSP is for people who want to go to planets and have a gameplay experience Juno is for designers and people with more creativity while being more realistic
This could work as a more realistic, gritty and advanced game than ksp. This should be almost like an engineering sim, maybe with SpaceX landings and missions with heavy focus on career. For now though, i don't like it. It feels aimless.
Yes, I agree with the first part! I have not reached the part where it is aimless but who knows, it did just release. With updates and mods the game could turn into something pretty freaking awesome. And I also think considering the price, it's really good value in my mind. But overall totally fair 😁😁
@@KaupenjoeTV The thing that gives it away for me is how the UI is obviously designed for mobile, for something like tablet perhaps ? Their font choice and styling is does not convey "simulation like" which is what I think the game play itself is shooting for. To match that I think it needs to be stripped down to more earlier, ms-dos type of ui. Maybe matching the look and feel of the f-35 cockpit style UI ? Also the game could implement PBR shading and maybe ray-tracing if it is available in the host system. It would boost the atmosphere of the game to another level.
Ah, that's actually very fair! I guess it does make sense it is also on mobile and was called "Simple Rockets 2" before, so I guess that was maybe the original vision. Well, I am excited to see it evolve and grow and with new updates (and Mods) it might just become a really great game. Thank you for the civil discussion and cogent arguments😎💙
Juno New Origins is completely undescriptive. i don't understand why they went completely the opposite direction from SimpleRockets 2, the most descriptive name with the fewest words though i guess Plasma is just called Plasma and people were hyped for that... i don't think that translated to people caring about it though Kerbal Space Program Juno New Origins - Juno Space Origins - Juno Craft Builder - Juno Engineering - Juno Science
Absolutely fair assessment of the game 😁 I considered weighing the price against the game I got and I am very impressed so far, even though I haven't gotten that far into it yet. So, I can't say whether or not it's better than KSP yet, but it definitely is a good game, especially at the current price point 😁
@@KaupenjoeTV Yeah, like I get KSP 1 was in this mess when IT first launch but it was also a WAY SMALLER TEAM, this level of quality is just unacceptable for how big there team is. They should've pushed back the release another year so they could actually provide a stable and releasable product. For now I think i'll stick with Juno / KSP. Never refunded a game faster in my life lol!

Nothing is going to replace KSP. But this game looks interesting. I love everything to do with space and my game library probably consists of at least 50% space games.
Oh 1000%, KSP is definitely irreplaceable! And while I do enjoy Juno quite a bit (especially for the comparatively cheap price), it does lack the charm that comes with KSP. Excited to see what KSP 2 has in store :)
What I will say after playing another 3 to 5 hours of this, it does feel like you're just doing one mission after another, after another... I think for the price, you're still getting an enjoyable game that hours can be poured into, but I agree! One should not be going into this game thinking one will get a similar KSP experience! There is a bit of KSP charm that is missing, however if the Devs continue to work on it, who knows where it might end up in a couple months :)
Yes, I am really hoping that with some updated (or mods) something can be done, but after playing for a couple more hours, the charm really is missing! I still firmly believe that for the price point of $16 (or $10 on Sale), it's absolutely worth pouring some hours into, but kind of a bummer that, just like space, there's a lot emptiness 😅🙏🏻

Oh that's awesome 😁
It's probably something one can get used to, but after playing 100s of hours of KSP, it does take some adjusting 😁
The more you understand Juno the better it gets, at some point you find yourself doing a moon mission with the Starship HLS😂
8:10 the reason why your rocket throttles down was because there was no fuel to burn. Also, you can’t really change the output of solid fuel.
