One thing to keep in mind is that out of the top 13 listings, 10 are owned by the same brand. And only 3 brands in total are in the top 13. In a lot of cases you want to avoid this type of brand domination of a niche. I don't think its to important in this case but in general you should be aware of the competition and if they dominate a niche because it might make it more difficult to get a share of the sales.
Thank you! You're right, if you were attempting to build a niche and scale your business then you would want to avoid Niches like this.
This looks better than buying any 1,000 USD courses. Private label this way helps one learn as you go without much risk. Even if the plan/execution flops, at 500-1000 USD you'll get a better learning experience than you would have to purchase a high ticket course. At least that's my take right now. Thank you JS team.
You are most welcome, Bryan 😃

@junglescout Thanks for these useful tutorials. I love JS software.
I have a question: while creating the new shipping plan in Seller Central, in the "Ship From" field, which address should I put with this following scenario > goods are manufactured overseas and then sold on Amazon Usa;
- should I put the manufacturer's address?
- or I should first ship the goods from the manufacturer to the freight forwarder's warehouse, lets say in Delaware, and then use that Delaware address in the shipping plan?
THANK YOU
This would depend if you are hiring a freight forwarder, or your supplier is shipping straight to Amazon 😄 ^PW

Hi Lenny, thank you for the great video and dropping knowledge! I have few questions first you mentioned buying from AliExpress and ship to our home then do the packing? What do you mean by that? I thought amazon does that behalf of us? And can we not ship it direct to amazon warehouse? Also second question is about “buy box” are we competing against another seller for the mugs?
Glad you enjoyed the content!
Amazon does not do any packaging for you- you need to have your products pre-packaged before hand. You can ship it directly to the Amazon warehouse if it's already prepackaged by the Ali Express seller. Yes, you are competing against other sellers for the BuyBox in this method 😊-SR
@@junglescout What is the Buy box or what does it means? I am from El Salvador so I cannot ship the goods to my country because it will be more expensive. Can I ask the whole-seller to pack the products and then send it to Amazon warehouses?

While the very basics are taught here, what's left out is the biggest cost to get this business started or for the product to become successful at start, and that is PPC cost! it is impossible to start with $500 and make any profit or even impossible to start with $500 at all as you'd not have enough money for your list to appear in the first page specifically during launch period until your product reaches organically in the first page. Furthermore, one also has to take into account, having enough money to order the second lot of inventory, as the profits from the first lot you will not get that soon enough from Amazon to order the second lot. If you run out of inventory and don't order in time, and close the listing, you'd need to spend more once you re-launch your listing to get back on the first page!

great video. although, the budget stated is more likely just to get your toes wet in the amazon realm. couple of aspects that cost something that isn't part of the profit calculator: seller account monthly cost, upc, item packaging, ppc ('cause it is about 99.99% impossible to sell without advertising on amazon) -- and with this product that has a very common search term, i can already imagine how much the cost is per click. additionally, one cannot expect they'd be selling this without the possibility of them either breaking or encountering simple unhappy customers who want refunds. and lastly, if one follows these steps to the letter, then you best be prepared to pay for junglescout's monthly fee.
nevertheless, this video gives people an idea what it's like to do private label. but with $500 as your capital, you're pretty much on practice mode.
Hello, i have a question, I found what it seems my first product to launch using the opportunity finder and the extetion and the results were good a few weeks ago, even i´ve been working in a plus that the competition hasn´t.
Now i´m the final steps to launch it, but when i looked at the extention again, the competition increased (without the plus that i would offer).
I want to ask with ALL your experience, what do you recomend for my case? Continue or find another niche?
If the opportunity score has dropped under 6, I would recommend finding a new niche! -SR 😊
Hi mate, whats your view on starting off selling Phone cases / Wireless Earbuds / biodegradable products?
It depends! You won't find out if you do not make a proper research 😉 ^PW
amizing video
Do you plan to launch a product on Amazon? 😄^PW
I like this video, I think it is helpful. But, what type of business license do you need to sell any kind of product like I see you showing?
It's not necessary to set up a business entity but it will have its benefits and purpose. With regard to selling different kinds of products, some categories require extra documents/requirements.
Thanks for the video, great information!! I just bought JS today and currently it's syncing with my Amazon account that I also just opened up. I was thinking about Retail Arbitrage just to get something going while I worked through getting my Trademark and LLC completed . Now I'll be doing this but skipping the Brand section until I have all the other stuff completed.
That's great! Welcome to the Jungle Scout community 🧡

I can't wait to hear how you get on! - LJ
So after 3 year's how is your success?
Can you use a CC to pay for your products you purchase from suppliers? I see the payment type accepted is TT... what if I really only have CC's?
Please note that we do not purchase products from the suppliers and do not re-sold them (we sell them on Amazon though!). However, you can always use CC to pay supplier for the order 🙂^PW
if we are using Alibaba or Aliexpress shipping method. do we need to still hire a freight forwarder? and who and at what point does the UPC Barcode and FNSKU label?
Hey Ayesha! If your supplier can take care of the shipping, then there is no need to hire a freight forwarder. However, most of the time, freight forwarders can take care of all customs as well! When it comes to UPC and FNSKU code, this will have to be done by you. First, you need to purchase the UPC code, register it in Seller Central, and once you create the shipping plan, you will get the FNSKU code inside Seller Central 😄 ^PW
Good video!
So glad you enjoyed this one, Harman 😊
Do you offer private one to one sessions?
We don't offer one on one sessions, perhaps you'd like to try Fiverr or Upwork, many freelancers there who have expertise!
Thank you very much for this video, I want to ask if i buy the product from Aliexpress and ship it to my house in spain then wil Amazon attached the barcode to each of the product for me or the seller from aliexpress will have to do that before I will ship it to the US Amazon warehouse?

Hey so if you get a copyright notice from Amazon and are dropshipping from Aliexpresss how do I show them the invoice they are asking for? Literally haven't sold anything yet and just listed these items.

How can I put my own brand label on products purchased from ali express? Can I ask them to put my own brand label on each product?
If the product is not panted, you have registered your brand, and the manufacturer agrees to that, then yes, this would be fine 😊^PW
Hi, If items are not sold for long time, do amazon charge inventory fee? what is their inventory charging criteria please?
Yes, there are storage and long time storage fees for products that are kept in the Amazon's warehouse. You can find the information about the storages fees here - amzn.to/3o9JmO0 ^PW
And do amazon set the shipping fee for the product or amazon seller set the shipping for their products?
I believe that Amazon will set the price for the shipping when you create the shipping plan inside Seller Central.
Hi. How are you? Should I upload my product image from alibaba product image by taking screenshot if I want to upload those product image in amazon? I mean can I copy the product image from alibaba to be upload in my amazon product image? If not;from where I will give the product to sell in amazon private label fba?
Photo/image of the product is a very important part of the listing. That's why we highly recommend uploading good-quality photos. Here's a video where you can get some tips: ua-cam.com/video/BlnAhBfLEUU/v-deo.html
Is this doable in Amazon Australia? does Private label mean designing a logo or name to put on the box? when we put the barcodes on ourselves, are we going to Officeworks say to print off 50 labels? These are pretty silly questions i know but I guess i’m confused about the term ‘private label’ and steps between once the product arrives at our house to selling. I’d love to start doing this

great video and i have a question , if i start with $500 and after creating my listing how i can get my product on 1st page for sale ?is ppc cost include in this 500?
It can or you can spend extra for PPC, outside the $500. To get your listing to page 1, we recommend PPC and constantly optimizing keywords so your product shows up in the results when people enter in the ones related to your product! -AL
@@junglescout does the JungleScout software help with optimizing our keywords?

What's wrong with selling a high demand low competition product ( which is what JS normally recommends for private labelling) but sourcing your product from Ali-Express so that your able to just buy a small quantity to begin with? Is the quality of the product not good enough from Ali-Express to be able to compete with other sellers when looking at products selling around 300/month? Must say JS channel has awesome content!
Well, if you buy a small quantity from Ali Express and your product is a hit, to be able to sustain your inventory would be tough because you'd have to get in touch with a supplier, work out all the details, have them create the product, ship it, and then sell it. The timeline may put you out of stock which is not fun. 📦
Is it a good idea to go with a product that JS says "low demand, low competition? " would it be more optimal to find one that's at least medium demand low competition?
You want to find a product which has demand, so try to avoid "low demand" if you can. Strive for High Demand and Low Competition, thats the winning formula 🔥- RF
Thanks for the quick reply! I'm feeling a bit discouraged that after product searching for a week now and haven't found anything yet. When I do find an item that looks good even as a whole, the sales are less than a month and it's covid19 related or there's really no way for me to improve the product as it depends on what it's being applied to for the results and all the ratings are 4+. Only thing I can think of is finding the most popular colors selling and bundle just those??
Product research takes an average of 3 weeks! 😀 Keep pushing and you will get there! -SR

Hi there,
I have a question about when the account in Amazon central seller should be ready, the problem is that as a result of COVID-19 we cannot request an EIN for the company in the normal way and they tell us that it will take at least a month or so. This EIN is necessary to have a central Amazon seller account as a company, so at the moment we cannot have it. We have already decided the product and also the manufacturer, but we have seen that the contract you sign with the supplier must include both the EIN of the importing company and the Amazon warehouse to which you will send it. As we will not have these two things for at least month, I was wondering if it is possible to make the contract without these two data, and fill them once the production is ready within 1 month.
Thank you for helping us
Best regards

If you are selling the exact same product as an existing listing, you will then have to win the Buy Box, yes.
If you have a separate product, you can create a new listing!

There are a lot of successful sellers on Amazon who are doing Online Arbitrage.
Why not send the product directly to Amazon from Aliexpress it seems like an extra step and more money in shipping costs.
Great question! Alibaba helps businesses purchase large quantities of products directly from manufacturers at wholesale prices. We then tend to use Freight Forwarders to deliver to Amazon. 😃
AliExpress, on the other hand, offers products at competitive retail prices with no minimum order requirements, so tends to be used for smaller orders - LJ

I would recommend reaching out to Seller Central support for options. Your account can be deactivated if your account becomes dormant.
And how to know that other selling is selling the same product on amazon?
Hiya Abdul! You'll want to research the products :) Then you can see if the same thing is being sold or not
With the restrictions on AliExpress you can't brand the same as Alibaba, which I totally understand. So when choosing your plant mug I noticed you didn't check if this exact one was already selling amongst the original search results, what affect would this have if you're creating a brand new listing and labeling it as your own brand? This was one of the restrictions I was worrying about. Also I was concerned about hidden customs costs with AliExpress, could you please advise? (I'm UK based) Thank you for another great video!
Aliexpress shipping is DDP so they take care of the custom costs 😁
For the sake of time, Lenny did not check the listing on Amazon. However, you should do that before ordering
@@junglescout thank you! :)

Hi. How r u? Do amazon fba seller profit from the shipping cost? Suppose a seller selling a product at a cost of 15$ and shipping cost is 12$. Will the seller make total profit of 15+12=27$? Pls reply from your heart.
So the shipping cost is not added up to the total profit for FBA.
Amazon charges FBA fees, which is what you'll pay to Amazon for shipping and handling/gift-wrapping and packing the product on your behalf. www.junglescout.com/blog/amazon-fba-fees/ ☺️
@@junglescout Do I have to pay fees to amazon FBA everytime I sell product or only once?
can i have the aliexpress products shipped to my house in uk and then ship it back to us and how much would it cost?
Yes, you can definitely do that! However, the cost would depend on the weight, size, rate of your freight forwarder etc. Do you plan to launch your product soon? 😉 ^PW
@@junglescout Could i do it without a freight forwarder and how much would it cost if i have 40 or 50 small units with a fright forwarder
You do not need to use a Freight Forwarder.
The cost would depend on the weight, size, etc. 😃 - LJ
but I have to set my own shipping fee ryt like other sellers do? for eg) I can give 2$ for product price and 3$ for shipping price by myself ryt?
Are you trying to figure out the COGS for your product?
@@junglescout Yes
Cool! If you are doing FBM, then you need to set the shipping fees for your product. For FBA, you don't set the shipping price as this is directly managed by Amazon.
@@junglescout So I don't have to pay the shipping price to amazon fba that is managed by amazon fba ryt?Customer will be paying the shipping price to amazon fba ryt?
Could we talk personally in any place because i had so many questions to ask you about FBA, I'm planning to launch a business online with a huge amount of money and i had so much question about it

Can we not ship directly from Alliexpress to Amazons Warehouses, if so how must he label the packages?
How to prevent others from copying us on jungle scout? patent? Trademark?
Can we not ship directly from Alliexpress to Amazons Warehouses?
You would need to get the details if you will do this because you have to fill it out and the correct bar codes should be on the box. *EG
Do we need to buy 5 barcodes for the 5 different designed cups?
Yes. Every variation of your product will need its own UPC.
Aren't there labeling and packaging requirements to ship into Amazon?
Here's a link to an Amazon article regarding that: sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/external/200141500
Hi, Does amazon takes inventory in December? I want to send in December. Do they stop taking in December? Please reply. Thanks
Inventory for Christmas shopping should arrive at Amazon fulfillment centers by December 1, 2020.
Inventory for 2021 should be sent to Amazon fulfillment centers no earlier than December 17, 2020. Until then, please only ship items to Amazon that will sell in 2020.
I hope this helps 😃 - LJ

Im lost, If the cost is $350 to get the mugs and the profit is 4.25 per unit with 50 units, isnt that a loss? You make $212 am i right ?
Please note that the 4.25 is your profit, meaning, this is what you get after you deduct all the costs from the selling price 😄 The selling price was $16.99 after the costs per unit, the profit was $4.25. ^PW
Do we still need to advertise on Amazon for such low sales like 60 sales a month?!
What is the number of goods that one must have to start advertising professionally on Amazon?!?
How many listing?!?
Actually, you may start using PPC as soon as you launch your product on Amazon in order for it to rank better in the search results as well as gain sales traction. 😁

I want to start FBA business in India..
Do u think it will be profitable.?
You can definitely start a profitable business on Amazon! It all comes down to preparation and launching a correct product 😉 ^PW
Hi Dear Friend, I tried to start an Amazon Business from France but due to taxes, importing products from China wasn't as profitable as it seems. Most the margin was eaten by Amazon an government... Is there anywhere I could find a list of all the charges a seller has to face ? Thank you.
you don't want to stuck in the French marketplace. have research on other market places like the US or UK Germany etc. Those are quite big as compared to France.plus if you can source your potential products from EU you might don't pay import duties in the EU.hope it will little help.
You should definitely see the blog post where we elaborate on how much it costs to sell on Amazon. You can find it here: bit.ly/2W7NstA. Let us know if that helps! 😊^PW
Thank you for your feedback and suggestion, Muhammad! Much appreciated 🔥 💪^PW
Thank you Muhammad and Jungle Scout. I'm going to have a look at what you mentioned. In France you pay taxes as long as you live in the country. It's a good thing since you contribute to our social system but it can but a little but heavy to support when you start a business.
Good luck with that, Kali! You can learn more about the Amazon tax and legal structure for the EU here: bit.ly/2VNX1ic -SR 😊

So I don't have to pay the shipping price to amazon fba that is managed by amazon fba ryt?Customer will be paying the shipping price to amazon fba ryt?
If you sell products via FBA, you will be paying fees for shipping, however, you can include that costs in the price of your product so you make it even and you are not the one who will pay for it, but a customer 😊
@@junglescout But u told me before i no need to pay shipping fees if I sell through fba? Shipping fees only need to paid to fbm seller??So do I to pay the shipping price to amazon fba or customer will be paying the shipping price to amazon fba? Because other UA-camr are saying me that "If u sell through amazon fba they will be directly set the shipping price,so the customer will be paying the shipping price (not the seller)"? Are you referring to shipping your product to a customer from Amazon, or from your supplier to Amazon's warehouse?
@@junglescout First I will telling the supplier to send the product directly from china to amazon warehouse, then amazon fba will do other things? I wanted to mean do I have to give the shipping price to amazon fba for sending the products to customers? Or customer will be paying the shippimg price to amazon fba?
@@junglescout Did u get me? I was referring to shipping the product from amazon warehouse to customer? I know I have to pay shipping price if I order product from china to amazon warehouse? But then why I have to pay amazon the shipping price?
I have not seen the other guy for a few months. What happened to him?
Who are you referring to? 🤔Rolando, or Greg? ^PW
@Jungle Scount!
Why ship products to ourselves instead of shipping them directly to Amazon warehouse? I am confused.
That's to save costs on packages preparation 😊^PW
Why is it that we have to start with less sales
That's a great question! It's quite normal to start with low sales when launching your product on Amazon, especially if you are doing private labeling. 😉
This is why we recommend that you use marketing tools when launching your product, like creating a promotion to gain sales velocity and get your product known over time. Feel free to check out our Launch checklist here: www.junglescout.com/ebook-ultimate-launch-checklist/🤩 - FO
