UNPLANNED ROADTRIP TO SALIMA (MALAWI) VIA MWAMI MCHINJI BOARDER! 🚗🚗 TO MALAWI.

This border is between Zambia and Malawi. Mwani border in Chipata, Zambia and Mchinji in Malawi. The border is open 24hrs daily for light vehicles and pedestrians but open between 08h00-18h00 for Commercial vehicles (GMT+2) Time Guideline. Visitors need to have a valid passport and are allowed to visit the country for a maximum 90 days per annum thereafter a visa valid for 6 months is required. Road permit, Insurance, Carbon tax fee and road user charge are payable for those travelling with own vehicle and custom charges for goods. All fees are paid in cash, Kwacha (ZMK), no foreign currencies or credit cards accepted. This is a busy border post with immigration on both sides. (May-2019).
