I live here in Blantyre and I know that the city is very filthy and disgusting with a lot of trash along the streets contrary to what you've seen. I've been living here for 14 years.

Oh my word, thanks for sharing the new looking Blantyre. We lived there 1992-93 (soon after we were married) and so enjoyed our time and we were sad to leave. How modern Blantyre looks now, we hardly recognised it. Streets are wider and many more are one-way. Many of the places we knew have disappeared but are replaced by newer and better. Makes me want to return to explore all over again. We lived not far from Clock Tower in a suburb called Mandala, wonder if the house is still there?
I am not Malawian but my respect and love ❤️ for this country and its people knows no bounds.having lived there as a consultant and expat for 3 years, I can confirm that despite the struggles and economic hardships, the people are very polite , contented and most notably happy.

Malawian women take care of the home and run small businesses from their homes. Men like to go into the city to "hustle" but generally women are the primary family caretakers. Women are also the ones mostly involved in agriculture.
This city has made me too emotional, very beautiful, organized, good buildings n hopefully very safer, securer.. a city of almost new big cars.. feel like jumping back to africa.in this city of Malawi....

Absa which was owned by Barclays Bank does the same thing. They use different trading names in different locations in Africa for their banks.
