- Blantyre is Malawi's centre of finance and commerce, and its second largest city, with an enumerated 800,264 inhabitants as of 2018. It is sometimes referred to as the commercial and industrial capital of Malawi as opposed to the political capital, Lilongwe. It is the capital of the country's Southern Region as well as the Blantyre District.

TIGRESS, YOUR KENYAN SISTER
Well done AfricanTigress… it was a pleasure hosting you… looks great’
Blantyre is actually a booming city with hardworking people
African Boss, just subscribed to your channel. I am a Mozambican citizen with a great cultural connection with Malawi. I am fluent in Chichewa and have many Malawian friends. I owe a lot to Malawi and Malawians for hosting me as a refugee in the central region in the mid-80s. Thank you very much for helping other content creators
THANK YOU AFRICAN BOSS FOR HOSTING AFRICAN TIGRIS. I'LL BE LOOKING FOR YOUR CHANNEL
MOST HIGH BLESS YOU
@@EJ-qd8pu wow that’s so touching we actually had a lot of Mozambican family living with us at certain points during the wars … we are one indeed
@@xdafactor7684 that’s very kind of u … please have a scroll around AfricanBoss indeed cheers
Malawi is a real example to all of us Africans. Like Rwanda, Botswana and a few others. They say poor but what they manage to do with the little they have is impressive. Being poor doesn't mean you have to be dirty and disorganised. Well done Malawi
We need to rename our Cities in Africa such as Blantyre.
Why ?
Renaming will kill tourism
Agree! No wonder why Mzungus think Africa is theirs.
@@mandlandlovu6310 That's is what they've made you think. So many Nations in the world have done a way with the colonial names and are doing much better.
Port Elizabeth in South Africa has been recently renamed
Blantyre was actually crowned the best city to live at some point, beating London, New York and Paris. (check the guardian UK report)
Didn't know that Malawi is so beautiful. The city is so clean
I live here in Blantyre and I know that the city is very filthy and disgusting with a lot of trash along the streets contrary to what you've seen. I've been living here for 14 years.
@@HistoryLover08mmmm komatu kulipeputsa dziko lanu lomwe
Been in Blantyre before. Great city, stayed at Doogle, at Wenela. Had the best time there.
The host is really knowledgeable 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Blantyre looks beautiful and well organized. Your host was good at explaining everything. Well Done.
Malawi us my country and is nice
...lets all agree that this girl is such a vibe. You give me some vibes to continue making videos. Sending hugs from Botswana.🇧🇼
Thank you dear
This Malawi we're watching on video clip is not poor; it looks richer than most countries in the Sahel Africa and Francophone countries of Africa
Francophone countries have always done worse than the former British Empire countries in Africa. French policies of the time, looting, and Islam probably have something to do with it.
@@iangodfrey4518 I believe you 👉
British colonial infrastructures legacy is more than French colonial legacy I admit. But many francophones countries are developed than many anglophones. Come to visit Senegal, Benin, Côte-d’Ivoire, Gabon, Togo, Cameroun, Congo
@@seydoutraore2867 And, I'm sure that the French state loves you, because your currency is controlled by the French treasury, in a somewhat neat neo-colonial relationship.
@@seydoutraore2867 I've been to most of those countries and I speak French fluently. Among Francophone cities only Abidjan is somehow developed and now Dakar, Senegal with ambitious infrastructural development by President Macky Sall. African Dev. Bank is helping Cameroun to build roads connecting to CEMAC countries otherwise they gonna remain in deep forest without access roads.
Malawi looks so beautiful..thank u for taking us there😊 it is such an incredible place.
You are welcome
Malawi beautiful if it's one of the pooris country in the world i don't think it's so and I would like to visit one day keep up the good work i love it 👍🏾
@@pauljohnson1104It is one of the poorest countries based on Wikipedia and other Internet sources. I actually live here, and all the buildings you see make up the Central Business District of the city and are not the entire city. Much of the city is filled with slums and other indecent housing.

Beautiful Blantyre, home sweet home. African Boss, you were brilliant, you know the city very well. African Tigress, thank you for putting our city on the map!!
African Boss is the man. Kudos to him
This is where my roots are!!! so beautiful is Blantyre.
Hi African Tigress..Wonderful video. I am South African but have never been to Malawi. Thanks for showing us where our brothers and sisters come from.
This is awesome I always asked if we have tall buildings in our country even other dude asked me do you have chickens in Malawi I was like ohhhhh no we don't have chickens will have only birds ...... I was actually sarcastic
I didn't know Malawi is that beautiful. Kudos Malawi, keep raising.
Thank you my sister for sharing
Malawi is simply stunning!! Direct opposite of what I thought it would be.
I think"the boy who harnessed the wind" was acted in Malawi.
Much love from Nigeria.
Sure, "The boy who harnessed the wind" movie was acted in my sweet beautiful country Malawi, home District of Kasungu.
The host deserves a medal well knowledgeable
Thanks for showing us around
Thank you so much for this video. I'm from Brazil 🇧🇷 and I'm in love to know more about Malawi 🇲🇼 thank you two guys! ❤
We thought Malawi is quite poor but that's the opposite. Malawi is really very beautiful with astonishing houses even better than some house in Norway.
Stayed in Blantyre,Chirimba surbub for 6 months and very beautiful. It looks like Mutare of Zimbabwe.
Oh my word, thanks for sharing the new looking Blantyre. We lived there 1992-93 (soon after we were married) and so enjoyed our time and we were sad to leave. How modern Blantyre looks now, we hardly recognised it. Streets are wider and many more are one-way. Many of the places we knew have disappeared but are replaced by newer and better. Makes me want to return to explore all over again. We lived not far from Clock Tower in a suburb called Mandala, wonder if the house is still there?
It's most definitely still there😂
Malawi is a great place. Definitely on my bucket list. I have also learnt that it is a very affordable place.
Honestly Malawi doesn't have very tall or wow buildings but see how peaceful it is while you can get almost everything you need to live. Only if you love chaos/drama you hate this city. I love Blantyre.
That's true, the shape of the city can also contribute to how you want to live, no wonder Malawians are so peaceful and friendly. I can just imagine to live in a quiet and clean city like this, the whole life can change into very cool person I guess
Blantyre is small but looks so morden. I love it 🥰 . The glass buildings are beautiful. Love from Zim. 🇿🇼
It's not small but they focused on a small part remember they were walking not driving.

Blantyre looks more developed than Lilongwe , the capital .
True observation. Blantyre is much more developed and organized than Lilongwe.
Blantyre is older... They started building Lilongwe in the late 70s that's why I guess..
Blantyre is British colonial legacy and Lilongwe is local planned
Greetings from Kampala Uganda this Patrick watching you and enjoy beautiful Malawi
That's my warm heart of Africa Malawi. Most people undermine us saying our country is poor , yeah but we are getting there. Am from Northern part of Malawi, MZIMBA. Nice one guys great job.

Malawi is beautiful 😍
I now see the reason why Blantyre is the commercial capital of the country, there are so many companies in the City
Visited Blantyre for a couple holidays early 2000s. Enjoyed recognising some of the buildings there. The High Court, Reserve Bank and Mt Soche Hotel

Malawian women take care of the home and run small businesses from their homes. Men like to go into the city to "hustle" but generally women are the primary family caretakers. Women are also the ones mostly involved in agriculture.
Sounds right
Home Sweet home.. Blantyre is so beautiful.... l'm loving it🇲🇼🇲🇼❤️

Blant is more developed than lilongwe. Much love from zambia
Mmmhh maybe not … Lilongwe is coming up and has more space for development from my observations

Love seeing Africa! Beautiful continent and people. Much love.

Karibu sana
For a supposedly poor country, the roads are nicely paved and it's pretty clean 👌
U are poor...not malawi
Malawi 🇲🇼 is not poorest country, there is some mirth and jealous by the British, they were not happy to leave Malawi 🇲🇼 they leave by excessive force by Malawians by acquiring their independence, so they were thinking that Malawians would not develop the country, thats why they spread this false information. Can you ask yourself that the British were the one colonized Malawi yet talking negative about it, can't you see something is fish there? But if you trust those media it's OK for you, but Malawians will continue developing the beautiful Malawi 🇲🇼 besides the negatives from there oppressors.

I am not Malawian but my respect and love ❤️ for this country and its people knows no bounds.having lived there as a consultant and expat for 3 years, I can confirm that despite the struggles and economic hardships, the people are very polite , contented and most notably happy.
