I hate this line. He promised that he would never lose. Not that Luffy is going to be his captain to the end. It is especially jarring considering Zoro's amazing speach after Luffy's duel against Usopp.
I won’t lie…this looks very promising. One piece was the last anime I would see actually fit a live action setting but for some reason this is looking more and more likely to be actually good. The cast the setting looks honestly promising (even though Arlong and shanks kinda look weird to me) I’m really looking forward to this

Same here. And I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this show. I assume that fans of the One Piece may find some things lacking in the live action version, but this and Fallout (the only one of the two I was familiar with beforehand) have been such a feel-good shows to watch to me. "House of the Dragon" has become somewhat boring to me. "Rings of Power" are an utter crap. But I am so looking forward to the second season of this show and the "Fallout" series.
That gatling was beautiful 😢. The effects on buggy look great. The more outlandish things (like fishmen) were never gonna look perfect live action, and thats when its important to remember this isnt trying to be a shot for shot remake of the anime/manga. It's its own thing. Let's let it be itself instead of comparing it and I think we'll have a good time. I'm so excited to watch this.
My only gripe seems to be the fight fx. Specifically sanji. It seemed like he just floated in to kick a Fishman in one scene. Edit: he didn't float in but after he kicked him he just sorta calmly floated back down😂
I applaud them for going practical for the fishman I just think they should have gone the puppet animatronic route. Sure Arlong fights would need to be creatively shot but at least he wouldn't look like a guy in a goofy rubber mask.
My problem with Arlong is that he's not as big as I thought he would be or maybe Luffy is too tall, I don't even know. In 2:09, they look about the same height. Otherwise, trailer looks good.
Fishmen are supposed to look odd though, I think the most important thing was to make sure that they don't look "cheap" and they made a really good job with it in my opinion.
Watching the anime for literally 20 years.. This look like it's made for 7 years old kids and my only wish is that my kid won't hear about so I won't have to watch this 🥲
Here again after watching the series. I've been reading the manga for 15 years and really have to admit that this series broke the live-action flop curse. Props to the production team! They did a super great job!
I‘m scared of setting my expectations too high but after watching this I can’t help feeling a little hopeful that this might be the one adaptation to actually turn out good. One Piece creates dreamers after all.
I can’t believe how good this actually looks. Didn’t think it was possible to show fruit, fish men, crazy looking characters without looking lame but this actually looks great!
@@probax5176yeah it's probably the best idea to not go all out with cgi for fishman, it's a future choice too. Imagine trying to CGI Fishman Island arc 😬 some endgame lvl budget lol
I am probably gonna get destroyed over this take but this Live Action Adaptation has gotten me more invested in the franchise than anything else, having watched the 4Kids Dub as a kid, Funi Dub as an Adult, clips of iconic moments, and a gaggle of my friends telling me to read the manga.
Nothing wrong with that, everyone has their preferences. You are enjoying the story, that’s a win. The only people that would complain are the same ones that haven’t touched grass in half a year
On its own honestly looks like it's going to be a fun series, if you take the anime, manga and Oda's description of the characters into account, this really is the best we can get for a live action. So I will give it a shot
One Piece with women acting like adults, not all having the same physique, and not being sexist groped and harassed by the male characters all the time? Finally! I can finally watch One Piece.
As someone who has never seen a full episode of the anime or read any of the manga, this gives off Pirates of the Caribbean crossed with anime vibes. I love it. I think I might need to watch this when it comes out.

The actor who played Gol D. Roger nailed the laugh. It wasn't just a trivial laugh. It looks like the laugh of a man with a hidden agenda and seeing his plan getting fulfilled. SPOILER: He wants to start the great pirate era to inspire the next Joy Boy among them. That plan starts with him announcing the "find it, take it" pertaining to his treasure on his well televised execution.

Heard a lot about One piece before but never watched it. I just finished watching this one today and I loved it. Maybe I should try watching the anime too.
good luck bro. One Piece OG anime is old now so you may try to keep up with old-style anime at the beginning of the series. Up to currently, it is still one of my favorite anime ever. The only flaw I experienced is the slow pacing sometimes and thats only it
They took a risk and spent a lot of money to make this. Oda approved it. Now it is up to us to support the show. If it earns enough, it gets even better. As One Piece fans, if there's one thing we've learned. It's that we never leave our Nakama.
@@Guy_Dude They did spend a lot of money on this, the budget is enough to make an A-tier 1 hr 45 min movie. Unfortunately, that kind of budget is still not good enough to support 8 episodes show. As I can see, their budget allocation priority went mostly to the sets. Vfx and costume design came second/third. 1 ship built alone probably takes a couple of million, and we've seen quite a few on this trailer.
I literally hate that fuckin part . The ONLY part out of this masterpiece trailer . It was mad unnecessary & stupid & it was like they had to have the black kid do some " swaggy " " hip hoppy " " charmingly ghetto maneurism " type shit . They just HAD to & I'm from the Bronx I grew up around people doing shit like that . I know it was a tiny moment but it just seemed forced & out of character for usopp . From both the anime & the rest of his scenes in the live action . Idk . But I literally cant stand that part istfg
This looks fantastic!!! The CGI looks so much better than I ever could have imagined. I admit, I had my doubts about how the fishmen and Buggy's powers would look, but they don't look out of place at all. I'm very impressed and super excited to tune in the moment it comes out! And I'm definitely watching the Japanese dub afterwards to hear the original voice actors voicing the strawhats.😁🤩
@neget88 totally. I still think the most important part is going to be getting the story and the characters right, so it can still be a good show. But saying it looks great is being blind.
@@matriaxpunk I think the special effects and action are genuinely pretty good for a tv show. Like look at luffy's kick or sanji's fights. Of course the costume design is another thing altogether, I agree it looks really off at parts, but we should give credit where it's due

I didn’t even watch the anime or read the Manga. I watched this first before the anime and it was fricken AWESOME better than the LABLA (Last Airbender Live Action)
They deserve great praise for making this look not too dark nor cartoony, good tone, considering the source material. Come on let’s celebrate the bravery for taking the freaking OnePiece on at all 🎉
I was hoping they'd stick to the original. The dark stuff is what makes the characters and their motivation for following Luffy. Getting rid of the backstory is what ruins it and turns the characters into a joke.
@@DaLightt_ people are taking a trailer at face value, if you go back to any popular show or movie, the trailers are incomprehensible after watching the material.

Рік тому+41
In the meantime....Sanji looking goofy as hell! What's with that limp ass hair? We all know he's got that golden bounce
I think they said the first season, 8 episodes, will consist all the way to logue town, so if it lasts all through the manga, it will definately be shorter.
I'm pretty sure they'll be hour long episodes combining some episodes. Also, I doubt they'll have filler even though that one marine base is still one of the best filler episodes of all time. Without all of the recaps, you could probably fit four episodes into one. So dividing and omitting filler could realistically see the live action series going to roughly 300 episodes.
The fact they showed off Foxy and Bellamy posters just shows that everyone is working hard for such a passion project. I've never been more excited for a live action series in my life...
@@LaBispa234Oh my god, I had to look back and check but yep! There he is, my Cabbage boi! It was such a quick scene that it was really easy to miss, but then again, I guess thats just in Cavendish's character to not be noticed lol!
Honestly gives off the One Piece vibes without making it super weird. I think this might be as well done as possible for the kind of anime One Piece is.
It’s not too extreme and obvious, but realistic, that’s why it’s always annoying when fans want it to resemble exactly like the anime, it just wouldn’t look real to exaggerate every anime detail.
While some of the character models are slightly goofy, the special effects, sets and costumes all look amazing. It has a lot of potential and you can really feel the cast and crews passion come through, the effort they’ve put in is incredible
Tbh, it shouldn't be too close to the anime or else it would just be hazardous, they just try make it proportional and make sense, like sanji has no twirl in his eyebrow but, still look like sanji
Nah this is like when you draw something and it looks great until you take a pause and look at it again, only then you notice how terrible it is...Oda will regret this when it's done.
Let’s be real here. The cgi was gonna be the most difficult part to pull off from this straight up adaptation. So a lot of scenes are definitely gonna look rough. But seriously tho this looks good! I can see why Oda went along with this, the vibe is just right! Especially since we’re getting an amazing episode coming up in a couple of weeks and the manga chapters recently have been so good, who isn’t happy being a One Piece fan right now?! I am! Let’s go!💥 ☠️ 💥
Honestly the cgi doesnt look all that bad, what bothers me the most of all i’ve seen, (and it doesnt bother me all that much) is the stuff that looks too cosplay-ish, like the handle on mihawks sword could use some roughness, the clothes look way too clean sometimes, not to say modern, it weirdly also adds to the atmosphere somehow tho, that why its not a big problem, like Koby looks way too clean, but he looks so clean he looks on point, isnt that weird? But yeah some of namis clothes and the handle on mihawks sword and stuff like that should look dirtier in my opinion, to get the final touch they need
@@luisgerardobujandalopez4994he fishmen we’re going to be the hardest thing to pull off other than the cgi and it doesn’t look awful. I do agree a lot of stuff looks cosplayish but I don’t think it looks bad. Mihawk in general seemed weird for some reason. The sword kinda makes sense not being messed up because that’s the type of character he is. Bro has a castle and is dressed to the nines at all points in time. Not a single hint that he’s been hurt in a battle so I wouldn’t be surprised if his sword is prestine too.
bro, you're absolutely right! CGI can be a challenge, but overall, this adaptation looks promising. The vibe feels just right, and with amazing episodes and great manga chapters, being a One Piece fan is pure happiness right now! Let's go!
I swear with every trailer I see it keeps looking better and better, this might actually break the live-action anime curse. You can tell that a lot of passion was put into this series.
@@GozetaZero not exactly the same thing. that isn't a hollywood production. Alita Battle Angel is the closest for films. For live action TV anime adaptations there hasn't been one of definitive quality from a US company (to my knowledge, could be forgetting something) yet except Drops of God, which not enough people watched
@@kotalee2106 he say live-action anime adaption. Not holywood. He could have be specific about it but my point stand. Anime live action curse has long been broken by death note and rurouni kenshin.
I’ve only been through one ep so far but i must say the actors of Zoro Nami & Morgan done an excellent job. Also loved the little scene with Baroque Works.👍 Can’t wait to see how they’ll pull off Haki/Df powers etc.
Damn... they nailed the hair. Usually the different hair colors anime characters have look horrible in live action but they actually managed to make it look "natural" this time.
I mean I feel they could of gotten people with the actual hair color for most of them so I feel annoyed seeing the hair colors of some of them because it looks so fake lol
I dont know... some of the scenes look like a fan made film, and the scene where senji kicks the fish man into the water was very hooky almost like peter pan in a stage play being flown in by lift wiring. Arlong is a major let down, luffy in my opinion seems to fall short on delievering his lines, like he doesnt sound thrilled for the fight, at times his confidence is not there when he says his lines and comes off mumbled. With a budget they said that is as high as game of thrones i was expecting better. The cast does look the part though so that is a plus, and buggy, while his scenes look very fan made, he seems like an amazing actor. I think the best part of what we have seen so far is the begining of this trailer with gold d rogers
This still feels like a dream. Seeing something as big as One Piece being adapted, and it looking well made? Yeah, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the Live Action One Piece!
I noticed Arlong Park looks more like an amusement park with the slides, booths, attractions, etc. I LOVE that! It's a perfect little detail that wasn't in the anime/manga, but later was revealed it was based off of Sabaody Park. I freaking love that detail! Also, SO freaking hyped for this! It looks good and the characters are spot on! Well done on the casting! And Taz's/Sanji's little grin in that! Swoon! 😍
yeah it is lovely, also the appearance of arlong at baratie makes the story of nami going back home after it feel less like the only reason they found her was due to them being lucky and more fleshed out
its gonna go up to arlong park too, feel like its actually gonna work since they will cut out alot of the typical 10 minutes per episode of one piece just using react faces
That's because this is not an anime adaptation. Me and my brother have been One Piece fans since 2004, and we were very much on the fence after the teaser dropped. We both had one strong point that the only way a one piece live action adaptation would work was if they they completely disregarded the anime and only adapted the manga. Then we found out that showrunners had gone one step ahead and had actually enlisted Oda Sensei to be onboard for the whole project and nothing would make it into the show without his approval. That's even better than adapting the manga, that's like bringing Oda's vision to the screen. I'm all in.
This is gonna be EPIC!!! Who knows maybe we could retry Live Action Dragon Ball & get a Tournament of Power! Check out Oda foreshadowing with the WANTED Posters.

Every details?!!! Have ever watch One Piece ever before This is bullshi* Roger is supposed to give a speech that gives goosebumps where is God Ussop's nose? why is Sanji ugly? Why Arlong looks like crap?.
Honestly, I'm just glad they didn't go Pirates of the Carribean with "dark and edgy sells" pitch. Which to me, One Piece IS a definition of anime, where its BRIGHT, FUNNY BUT with real world themes. Sex Slaves from pirating, paranoid captains turning into serial killers plotting a 10 year plan, slavery and oppression effects on communities and tragedies of the world, accepted BUT won't hold down the King of the Pirates! Knowing yeah its dark out there, but he won't let it stop his dreams.
I’m going to give it a chance for the simple fact that it is extremely difficult to transfer an anime into a live action, specially one piece. One piece is extremely cartoony and imaginative, to transfer that into a live action is an incredibly difficult task. Given what I’ve seen in the trailer, I am extremely impressed with what was portrayed.
They seem to have transferred all kf the strawhats personalities to being more realistic very well the one person that is worrying me is luffy cause they're gonna have to make him smarter and more realistic for live action but if they miss the right point then they might just make him really annoying and lose all of his charm depending on how smart they make him in live action
@@rainesaysdie863 Yeah they had to tone down a lot of the scenes as it would looked WAY too childish if you can't have some of the scenes be a little more serious. Personally think having a touch of the humor / unrealistic nature and still being able to put more varied tones in could help translate it to live action.
@@mateusmanzotte6001 I guess I'm talking more about the scenery, in some areas it works, but one piece is so bright and saturated and colorful, this feels so dim
This looks promising and even if you guys have complaints. The passion in the crew feels legit and they are doing their best. I just know that the main cast will do everything to make their roles feel as close to the original
Yep, it feels like a passion project. It gives a similar vibe if compared to Cavill playing Geralt, you can see the guy is trying hard. The Luffy actor is looking really convincing, the charm and charisma are noticeable... the others are looking "tryhard" as well, Nami is the only one who kinda looks off (it's not like the actress is fully engaged), but we have to wait and see
If you happen to not be aware Oda himself has had his hands deeply involved in this since day one. Every single thing got final approval from him. He once said that if something were to change without his approval he would leave the show. Netflix wouldn’t even release it till he was happy. That’s why it looks like a passion project. For that reason is why I’m excited for this and hope that it will be at minimum decent. Hopefully this kickstarts more and better produced live action anime. This one definitely looks it has the highest budget out of any live action anime ever made
@@RRRRRRRRR33 the actress is fully engaged, did you saw her insta profile pic? They are all really commited, which is cool. I feel that the writers made her the grounded one as the others are air heads, but in a more realistic way than the manga. Its great, the main cast is great we can't complain
Non ci sono le emozioni della serie, a parte gli effetti speciali dei calci di Sanji, riguarda la scena dove Luffy da il cappello a Nami o quando dice diventerò re dei pirati
@@Azev42 Early Nami had tons of charisma, she was not only a weird sex toy like her current version. They did not showed any scene of her seducing Sanji, neither her outbursts, etc To be fair, they didn't showed anything about Usopp either, so who knows. Of all these characters, Usopp and Luffy are by far the most challenging to adapt. Thus far, Luffy is looking charismatic (the CGi is not so good, but the personality is charming), no sign of Usopp tho, only small glimpses
Im surprised how much i liked a lot of this from Buggy to Arlong Park and they even nailed the part where Luffy puts his hat on Nami. I can't wait to see the walk to Arlong Park in live action.
hell yeah, bro, It's awesome when they put in the effort to make the world and fights look like the manga/anime. It adds that extra touch of authenticity.
Iñaki was the best casting for Luffy. The way he cheerily and earnestly says “the line,” puts a big ol’ smile on my face. He’s not trying to impress anyone, he’s just being himself, and it’s a real “Get on board, or get out of the way” moment.
@@diego_fnogueira Luffy is played by an old Japanese woman, let's try not to make such stupid comments. You're free to watch it dubbed by the original cast.

Edit: he didn't float in but after he kicked him he just sorta calmly floated back down😂
Same
@@danielwhitehurst8432Have you seen the anime? Dude literally keeps kicking while floating in the air
Arlong is odd looking but this looks better than I expected and as good as I hoped. THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!
I think it was a good choice to make him "human-sized", otherwise it would've been a crazy amount of CG usage. I do think the nose looks wonky tho
Fishmen are supposed to look odd though, I think the most important thing was to make sure that they don't look "cheap" and they made a really good job with it in my opinion.
And that's why in the story they are heavily discriminated. They have to look non-human

I dont know... some of the scenes look like a fan made film, and the scene where senji kicks the fish man into the water was very hooky almost like peter pan in a stage play being flown in by lift wiring.
I'm all in.
It seems like the production crew are huge fans as well, seeing how thoughtful every details being executed into the live adaptation
It also helps that Eiichiro Oda is heavily involved with the live action version
@@HerooftheWild Guess we will wait and see when it's out to see the results.
This is gonna be EPIC!!! Who knows maybe we could retry Live Action Dragon Ball & get a Tournament of Power! Check out Oda foreshadowing with the WANTED Posters.
@@j.c.3059 Hilariously, Dragon Ball Evolution was the reason why Toriyama left retirement to make Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, Dragon Ball Super, DBS Broly and Super Hero.
To show the guys behind Evolution, who rejected his offer of helping them in the writing, what a real Dragon Ball movie is made by him.
Every details?!!!
Have ever watch One Piece ever before
This is bullshi* Roger is supposed to give a speech that gives goosebumps where is God Ussop's nose? why is Sanji ugly?
Totally
They seem to have transferred all kf the strawhats personalities to being more realistic very well the one person that is worrying me is luffy cause they're gonna have to make him smarter and more realistic for live action but if they miss the right point then they might just make him really annoying and lose all of his charm depending on how smart they make him in live action
The anime barely worked as it is...
Extremely
I honestly think they did a decent job
1. catches the humor 2. looks good 3. actors are catchin the character vibes
Ehh Roger is off and it feels too serious and not as bright and lighthearted, at least the visuals.
@@rainesaysdie863 Yeah they had to tone down a lot of the scenes as it would looked WAY too childish if you can't have some of the scenes be a little more serious. Personally think having a touch of the humor / unrealistic nature and still being able to put more varied tones in could help translate it to live action.
@@rainesaysdie863 but it was serious in the anime, the first time it was showed roger execution it was mysterious and dark
Can't wait to see Ace and Smoker in the Season 2 !!
Im surprised how much i liked a lot of this from Buggy to Arlong Park and they even nailed the part where Luffy puts his hat on Nami. I can't wait to see the walk to Arlong Park in live action.
I actually appreciate that they took the effort to make the world and fights look like how they do in the manga/anime.

Well you can thank Oda himself for that, as he was the executive producer for this live action release.
hell yeah, bro, It's awesome when they put in the effort to make the world and fights look like the manga/anime.

Nah, he sounds nothing like Luffy. Total different character.
@@diego_fnogueira Luffy is played by an old Japanese woman, let's try not to make such stupid comments. You're free to watch it dubbed by the original cast.
His spirit sounds exactly like Luffy. But he's more intelligent than anime Luffy, which I think works better for live-action. We wouldn't want people hating Luffy for being so dumb. Anime Luffy wouldn't know the word mutiny.
