@@DuDieselDude dodge is now a car brand it used to be more affiliated with ram but now a it’s an individual brand within fiat Chrysler even the badges say it
Boy sure wished I was the one that won this truck. It reminds me so much of my dads 97 red dodge he had so many years ago. If the guy that won decides he don't want it then ill take it. The work you done on this truck was pretty awesome
Hey Malachi love what you’re doing I’ve been watching LNP since fall 2017. I’m 20 yo now and I was able to save up enough to buy my first diesel an OBS 7.3 in 2018, I really have an appreciation for the older diesel trucks. Thanks for all the work you put into this channel! Keep it up man!!
I must say you do good work and keep it up! But I think your Cummins trucks and videos are the roots of this channel plus you get way more views on the old 12v restorations!!!
It’s definitely worth it to go to a good painter you can trust. I used to work next to an auto body paint shop. And we would see them doing burnouts and donuts in the parking lot like 3 days a week every week for years.
I just bought a 1996 12valve single cab 5 speed Flatbed and is rust free with 24000 original miles!! being in really good shape and some say its not worth what i give for it but i dont care cause im happy with it and thats all that matters to me
I like watching how you go through the entire truck including making sure you get rid of all the rust. Currently I'm restoring my '81 Silverado and I'm going to have to replace the doors, tailgate and hood due to the rust. I bought the truck from a buddy of mine who didn't tell me that he painted over the rust areas plus he did a crappy job painting it . Lol
We usually always do. However when we bought this truck our plan was to keep the engine stock and make it mechanically sound with a total restoration. This is one of the first we did no power to.
One thing I miss about ur vids back in the day, was you would work on you truck and didn’t take it to a shop and know u alway have a shop do it for u. But I am here to stay and hopefully able to meet u someday. I live just same town that u bought ur 5th gen
Too many people get wrapped up about the price when you’re building/rebuilding an old truck. In my opinion old trucks are the coolest so I’d rebuild a 12 valve or 7.3 over anything else🤷♂️ currently completely rebuilding my obs 7.3. Motor tranny body and interior will all be touched and be what would have rolled off the lot in 97!
I do a lot my self. But man yooper salt belt kicks my ass every now and then. I have more than your average person with hand tools and torches n welders. But man there’s few times I throw my hands up and put it in a shop
These days there's a case to be made for spending $24k on an old truck. When they want $80k for a new one. Spend your 24k and get a good looking reliable truck that's like new. 24k is a lot pays off a lot faster than 80k, and now that you've put all that money into it, you know exactly what you've got. So it cuts out all of the anxiety "Is my old truck still reliable"? Lastly, even if you had to replace the engine and transmission in the old truck after you fixed it all up, you're still getting out a hell of a lot cheaper than paying their uber prices for new. If you had to replace the engine and trans, the 24k truck became a 32k truck. But now it's good for another 20 years.
@@iCE-yr3wy i was able to fine one for 5k. Its a 94 3500 dually, and so I said fuck it and snatched it up. It definitely needed some love as it was an old farm truck, but it being so cheap gives me quite a bit of room to do upgrades and whatnot
Dude here in texas you could drive you truck over to mexico and get it done cheap like dirt cheap and they do good jobs check out 2gen dodge by salinas photography on youtube and check out the silver dodge that one was dont by a body shop in mexico. It says it in the description .
Got my 95 ram 1500 5.9 lt with lift, toolbox, 2 12 in subs, sony radio, rgb rock lights, and a nlight 52inch light bar for $2500 on facebook with no visible rust
I love this channel, youre such a genuine guy. Youre reasonable about your builds you understand not everything is doable but you make some awesome trucks
I like to assume this man didn't come from money, even if he did youre way better than that dude that destroys all his trucks, you both end up getting rid of the trucks but at least you give them to someone that will still love the truck
this truck is an absolute STEAL i bought a dually last year around this same time and it ended up running me 22k but it had a lot done the only thing it needs now is body work and paint but sheesh that’s a bad ass setup wish i could find another to build up myself
Would like to have that truck. I got a pretty clean 01 1500 the sport off-road edition with the stock 3" lift I'm trying to do that truck up real nice but not many parts in my area so anyone in the PA area lmk if you got parts
It’s extremely nice that he pretty much replaces everything that’s wrong with a truck that’s exactly what I would do as well ....awesome build man keep doing what your doing brother I participate in every build for a chance to win one day!
Cummins guy except he didn’t touch touch the known problems they have. He didn’t put a headlight switch relay in meaning the aftermarket headlights won’t work for very long.
Malachi, You do some amazing work. The fact that you give people an opportunity to win something that they may not normally be able to afford is awesome. The cost to build a vehicle isn't cheap by any means. Keep up the great work.
Dodge 318 Cummins that’s a problem I’ve never heard of.. let alone any actual mechanical issue to concern yourself with.. they are tried and true LED’s in a 1 piece headlight.
Dodge 318 Cummins yea but I wouldn’t be remotely worried about a simple headlight switch after this guy done put over 20k in this truck and that I could win it for 5 bucks lol so everything else is irrelevant to me
I've been watching you for such a long time and I get the giveaways but why don't u keep a truck for yourself that you love? Makes no sense to me since I would totally build myself one and then give the rest away u know? I have done this car switching too when I was younger but I always had a base car I kept just cuz I loved it
Jesus Christ 5500 for a paint job? I’m lucky my father in-law has been restoring cars for a while and can do a pretty good job with paint. It would only cost a few hundred if you learned to do it yourself
Literally if the stock paint was decent on that truck it would be forsale stock in WA for 18k-25k. That’s ridiculous how cheap you bought that truck and how cheap your into it. I hate it here lol
Hope you guys enjoy this! We had LOADS of comments requesting this! So we had to do it! Also, 10X ENTRIES END TOMORROW!!!! lnpgear.com

As far as dodge trucks it's the 2nd gen dodge ram trucks, the 2nd gen dodge Dakota trucks and the 75-79 dodge 3/4 ton club cab longbed trucks.
People really don’t understand how much paint and body work actually is. It’s not cheap
I agree, nor do people understand the labor before painting/bodywork
Jesus 8k for a 12v with no rust here in idaho with that many miles your looking at like 15k
I just got a 12v with little surface rust for 7k in Utah
