Why do car reviewers always complain that there are hard plastics lower down in the interior, its the area you’re most likely to kick so it has to be hardier.
romeoandthelonelygirl I believe all of them also mentioned “scratchy.”
Hard plastic could be high quality too, my BMW 7 series has solid plastic parts down to the bottom. Only cheap plastic would have the scratchy feel like a kid’s toy, I think that’s the point they are complaining about. Those cheap plastic parts shouldn’t happen in a mid/high end premium car like Velar
Car manufacturers, particularly mass producers, cost cut in different ways. With BMW it is, for example, with their leathers. All BMW cars, with the exception of the 760Li, feature only leather seat facings. Full leather seats, where the whole seat is upholstered in leather is not available on any other car bar the 760Li. 'Full leather', which BMW use often on their website, does *not* mean full leather seats. 'Full leather' means everything that is available with leather on a particular model *is* leather. Therefore, 'full leather' on a 3 series differs from 'full leather' on a 7 series.
On all other cars in their range, the parts where your bottom rests, the parts where your back rests are leather. Around the base, the sides adjacent to the seat belts as well as the back of the seat are all 'leather effect'. Ultimately, vinyl. This is what is meant by leather seat *facings.*
Curiously, though, there are hundreds of thousands who would literally swear blindly that their BMW features full leather seats, only to be dismissive when informed that their car doesn't. If you drive a 760Li - it does. Any other in the range - it doesn't.
But I bet your BMW dealer won't tell you that. When test driving an X6, I had four people involved before it was finally admitted that the backs and base of the seats were plastic!
I see many hard plastics in BMWs. The 2013 X5 was full of it, they felt weak and cheap.
With the current A-Class Merc, the interior on some parts is also very poorly made.
Only VAG knows what premium is these days. Especially the Audis or higher end cars.
The hard plastics used in that area can be a pain in the neck for scratches that you can’t remove and show very easily. I have not experienced any alternative as I’ve never been able to afford such a premium vehicle. Btw, it’s been my dogs nails that have caused the odd scratch.
Firemarioflower ,
Got one last month and LOVE it!!...very powerful and capable car with amazing styling :)
Alia Aladham how’s the reliability been?
Artur Conka that’s what I’d like to know.
@@ArtcoPhotography @Bootney Lee Farnsworth - Probably about the same as *any other* large SUV (ie worse than a normal car) Range Rovers are no worse than their equivalents (Lexus excepted)
Great textures inside. Nice to see something new going on in interior design of cars.
Ur review is simple fresh and usefull keep up
“Lump in the middle” _ not heard it described like that before :)
Excellent car and excellent review. Keep it going Rebecca
Love it ...it has road presence gr8 interior and its handsome unlike the cayenne or macan and the bulky q8
Very respectable - came to this review after seeing one 30 minutes ago.
But luxury means ALL models ought to have a rear camera.
The background music is still a bit distracting!
But, fair play, it’s not as bad in this video as it was in the VW Golf video.
Derek Finnegan I didn’t notice the music until I read your comment. If you’re distracted away from Rebecca you have some problems music won’t fix
Range Rover sport autobiography 5:0 v8
My car cost £93,000 with upgrades such as full panoramic sunroof. A piece of rubber jammed in the roof whilst operating so I took the car to a main Land Rover dealership (Stockton-on-Tees) for a repair and was told the entire panoramic sunroof would have to be replaced ? I said ok the car has a 3yr warranty. Guess what ? They said the roof was not covered by warranty even tho this was a factory fitted option ? I contacted the ceo of Land Rover but received no help at all so I sold the car a week later & will not buy another. Warranty not worth the paper it is written on so be warned people.
You’re awesome Rebecca!! How’s your racing career going???
Excellent review as always;)
nice review
I love your accent and vocal tamber.
you are good looking car you are the best keep it up
Not your fault but voice does my head .. Are you trying to sound like Vickey B Henderson? On a positive point you made a good review keep up the good work.
Thank you Rebecca by the way for sticking up for grid girls!
I think it s so funny those car reviewers tha say "a little scratchy plastics". Please tell me, what do you want in the bottom of the car? Alcantara?
Marcelo Gui yes that would be nice actually. Great idea!
At that price point I don't think it would be to much to ask for at least soft touch plastics, even in the lower parts of the interior. That being said its really not a big deal.
props teaching me a word.
props teaching me a word.
Polyester maybe?
Looking at pricing here in My home country, the Velar is more expensive than the Macan and appears to be just about the same as the RR sport (€100k+. Similar Macan S for €90k+). Are the competing with themselves with this model?
Its the most beautiful and upscale SUV in the market.
mansees try driving one they feel like a transit van handing is rubbish and cabin feels cheap and not durable
I Like the Range Rover Velar in Bryon Blue and P250 Petrol
Landrover is owned by India built in uk. Not all lr are unreliable, my disco sport is fine and also look how many lr are on the road.
I have a right hand drive Velar SVAutobiography, doing very well.
Strange how the thumbnail is titled 2020 Range Rover, yet the video is dated 15 Dec 2017
Frameless doors would be a nice feature.
I still don’t understand why this lady isn’t on Top Gear!!
Because they want lots of people to watch Top Gear !
Don't know who's more beautiful Rebecca or velar
honestly i would have a velar for a dream car if it had the same offroad ability as the LAND rovers
I am loving the new RR Sport and Velar designs BUT there is so much to go wrong and have found them very unreliable. My Sport let me down badly and dangerously without warning so part exchanged it. I now have a lexus hybrid 👍👍
Wonder how many drivers will nearly have crashes while fanning about with those touch screens while on the move ??
i love this car
Dear Rebecca ur reviews has been improved a lot compared to old ones , and there a symphony in ur reviews, but still my first love is vellar,
But u steal the show.
Love you Vellar 😍😍
Talk like a normal person. Thanks for your vids!
This is a fantastic machine
Is that V6 still going ? The I6 should be available soon. I thought it would be out now.
My 1987 Granada has electrically adjustable reclining rear seats !
Hard to say no Range Rover Velar a smart contender to the Audi Q8.
She suited the back seat .
Absolutly the best looking car in class if you ask me.
NikesZ28. Looks disgusting to me, but gorgeous interior.
Its lucky that we all think different, if we didnt everyone would be driving the same car ;)
NikesZ28. True, but then…Porsche Macan, Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC (both coupé and S.U.V), Jaguar E Pace, Volvo XC60, I would believe that all of the cars I named above are more beautiful than this one, when comparing the exterior design.
Personally im getting a bit bored of german designs, i usually look at cars that are a little different.
Merc does do really nice interiors now, ill give them that.
But its all matter of taste.
NikesZ28. Yeh, but the talk is about the exterior design, and this one is just too simply and awkward for me, especially the front design.
You can have the vehicle. Over time you have it, it depreciates. I would rather have Rebecca, over time she will appreciate in value to you. The vehicle has a sticker price, but Rebecca is priceless.
JR S shh
Creepy
She is pocket size woman. There are pluses to that, you can always put her in the drawer if you don't wanna see he for a while :D
Lol
Grow a backbone.
Looks like Discovery with different badges
Excellent review by preety girl... :)
My Dream Car
Rebecca 😍
miklu26 She could say it was terrible - I would still buy it. A fine example of a women.
Have you ever seen a woman before
A perfect example of naturally beautiful.
Just as she said “how much you can fit outside” I read your post and looked in her eyes... I feel violated..
awesome
The car is nice but she’s even better 👌🏽
Nice car
Preggers?
Yet another ‘unbiased’ Whatcar? Review of a Range Rover that does nothing but promote Audi lol
Rebecca hit the wall :)
myyyy dream carr
Could you please ditch the distracting music?
I Like Petrol cars which gives me good quality
She’s completely wrong about its competitors. Competitors are BMW X3/X4 (not X6), Mercedes GLC/GLC Coupe (not GLE), Audi Q5 (not Q7).
_I'm afraid your rather rigid views of car marketing is too simplistic, out of date and misguided._
The car market does not actually exist in rigid predefined segments based on size alone, but is fluid and changes every day. Therefore a Porsche 911 is potentially a competitor of a BMW 760Li. They are similarly priced, similarly tech-ed and appeal to similar customers. Over the last 20 years, the 'segments' that once dictated where you car was positioned have gradually faded into insignificance.
Modern car marketing is about *choices* - tech, appeal, style, comfort, performance are far more important in the decision making process than 'size'. Therefore, you can spec a £45K X1, a £45K X3, a £45k X5 (they are selling in the UK with £6-8K discount before negotiation). Some will argue that as they are different sizes, they exist in different classes and appeal to different buyers based on affluency. In fact, they are all targeted at the same customer with the same budget. Individual priorities are what clinch the final decision. How many children? What the car is used for? How many miles are being driven? Is it a credit purchase or cash purchase? Offers? There are so many people who test drive completely different car sizes and make a decision based on the best deal available.
Similarly with the Velar. You can spec a £70K Velar, a £70K RRS and a £70K Range Rover. All are aimed directly at affluent, successful people, with the final decision being personal choice based on predefined criteria. And that, is where car companies are seeing the biggest growth - where car manufacturers offer different choices based on customer need, not predefined segments that was the case in the 1980's. The overlaps between models used to be small, but are now huge (and increasing), purely as a consequence of what I have described.
However, some are oblivious to this. Some will argue that the £18K 116i is the same market as the £24K 120i, which is the same market as a £38K 140i, which is the same market as an M1 (42K) as they are all the same size. They are totally different markets with varying customer needs and priorities.
Every car is positioned uniquely in a fluid market that changes everyday.
This is 2017, Central Lifestyle. Not 1987.
Background music is too loud!
2020 velar with 2017 number plate funny
Disappointingly small car in the metal with surprisingly little road presence. Great PR job from LR as usual but this car is a Freelander in drag!
The tires look huge.
CarNews that's cause the wheels are huge
“TYRES”
NAN They are!
Hello I Like it
If your going to get a Range Rover get a Range Rover, Range Rover autobiography or Range Rover supercharged.
It looks a bit like a boat. Now, if the wheels retracted and it became amphibious, had a convertible roof, I would have it. Be honest, who wouldn't?
Looks like the Q5 & Range Rover Sport have had a baby !!!..............YUK
2020 I drive the 3 litre Range Rover sport! Gorgeous but big! I’ve just fallen in love with a 2 litre diesel Top of the range Velar & I can assure you she’s no one’s baby...........she holds her own, her presence is the wow factor! What do you drive Hungry Boy?
Not your cup of tea eh ! Oh well what's your ride then ?
@@NZMuzz Sadly given up on Land Rovers, one stolen and written off, the other caused to much problems with breakdowns and cost !! Been converted to Volvo since !
How reliable is it?
Oh god.... here we go. Get over it. Have you owned one ? If so you'd be happy. But you just dont like RR's ! Do you ?
why does she keep comparing and mentioning the Audi
like we wanna know bout The VELAR not the Audi so plsss
That's what she should do, mention the rivals so we can see how it compares to them, because she can just say it's comfortable and a good car but that doesn't leave us anywhere right? So are the rivals comfortable and good cars. Though i agree that she didn't mention the right rivals to this. Just kept mentioning other Suvs. First the audi sq5 (not even the q5) then the much bigger q7 and an x6 which is also in a different class than those.
Time to change the title to 2021.
100% of the time, drooling over Rebecca
Look at those warm hands at 2:20
So beautiful, car wasn't bad either.
Andrew - Smooooth
press 7 on your keyboard :D
Perfect timing
With Style I don’t get it
consolence s Me neither

With Style. What does that mean?
this is fine good looking car you are okay
Anyone got onto the fact that this is meant to be a review about a car and she pronounces Velar wrong.
I will buy range rover Velar
4 seater then.
What is all about their reliability?
Everyone is always trash them in comments.
Can anyone tell me how much true is in those comments?
I guess she loves the Audi Q5
How on earth can LR keep selling such unreliable vehicles? It looks gorgeous but what a nightmare to own.
Very true
Did you ever own one ??
I liked your video.
Even your smile attracted me
Well done
Better to have Jag!
I thought it was pronounced Vay-lar.
Please take away the background music guys it's v distracting
I suspect that the presenter and the vehicle she is presenting are ideally matched for each other.
5ft 4in...and a half !!! Hahaaa reeeeaaallly ... c'mon... who you kidding. I always crackup when shes driving. Never seen someone so close to the steering wheel.. Shes needs a booster seat
Not really
Not sure which I like more.. you or the car...
Oh baby! Rebecca ❤❤❤❤
Good Looking. Leider hat der gute Velar nur die gute Optik.
Old Driver Assistance Systems. Von der Fahrer Assistenz kann er nicht mal dem Volvo xc40 das Wasser reichen.
Navigation = Old school.
Will not sell very well.
lovely Indian car
Velar is in the class of BMW X3,XC60,Stelvio,GLC and Audi Q5.The Q7,X5,X6,GLE are abouve him.Period
_I'm afraid you are looking at the market in a very very linear, out of date way._

This is 2018, RockRolla. Not not 1988.
The *customer* and *marketing* have evolved. Try and keep up.
please tell her to speak like a human being. her voice is so put on
I don't like the back end of this car! Everything else looks nice.
You put the biggest smile on my face..... Marry me Rebecca..... 😍😍😍
Popeye The Sailorman Wth
Anything under a Range Rover is no SUV, just an abomination. Goes for all brands. All these fake SUV/CUVs are a nightmare.
The entry level engine offered on the Velar is a joke; it's gutless, so you'll need to upgrade that at an extra £8000 to the next engine option up, so add that to the basic cost of the vehicle. Despite Rebecca saying it's a big car, it's really not - 3 in the back seats is very cramped. The touchscreen for the climate & seat controls is an ergonomic disaster & I'm genuinely curious if anyone's ever crashed while fiddling with it; the first time I saw it, it took me over a minute just to figure out how to turn off the radio. Lastly, this is a Range Rover. It'll go wrong, often, and expensively.
Cross between Sarah bee eh and tiff needell … and not in a positive way
Vanity car really. I dont know what other reason someone would buy other than badge.
The top touchscreen - so pointless making it tilting for the slight viewing angle. With the additional motor to power this tilt, more to go wrong, and being a LR, that's likely to happen, their reliability are a known issue.
2nd touchscreen - so many menu options, drivers will spend more time looking down away from the road to find what they need.
No, its not a BMW, the vanity badge of all
Hahaaaa... right... yeah sure nothing much really is it.... chip on shoulder guy eh
Took one for test drive. Style over drive quality. I passed in this as it felt like driving a Ford transit van very jerky and shit. I got a Porsche Macan S instead which feels awesome compared to RR van like ride.
beautiful rebecca
WOW .. that presenter girl is really cute, i wanna see more reviews with her in them
Wooof! Woooof!
Decent review. Her verbal delivery has suddenly got much better. She's stopped doing that awful Quentin Wilson parody which REALLY grated - sounds like a normal human being now.
Wow and it still has cloth seats what a shame that’s why I got my Range Rover sport not the velar because it’s made way cheaper
Do Volvo xc90
I was Like #1000 :D
Feeling Special
