April 2021... I've been driving a rental Range for a month now. My car own was totaled in an accident. The Velar is truly amazing. Manifesting me one right now. HELP!
Looking for a 2018 or 2019 Velar. The Velar is sooo beautiful. I wish it was a tiny bit shorter. The smaller Evoque is wayyy too short. Thanks for the vid.
i know that this is r-dynamic s package. but like the other different velar with r-dynamic s package doesn't have the same style on your exhaust tip cover. why is that? what is the exact model of this vehicle?
One of the finest mall crawlers you can buy. Why the supercharger and not a turbo though is beyond me, especially considering its a euro company. That infotainment is also super anti user friendly. The interior just looks bland, featureless. and a cleaning pain in the ass. Also I would love to see that British supercharged v6 tow a 5,000lb boat 200 miles without breaking down. Considering just driving it with only 1 person and no payload is enough to break it. Oh and while its at the dealership for a month because the repairs need parts shipped overseas, your loaner breaks down so they have to tow you and give you a second, only for that one to break down. If someone gave me one of these I would sell it and hope I have enough to buy a XC60 or a GLE, or even an american alternative like a Grand Cherokee or even a Nautilus. That's if I can actually get enough money from selling it to even afford any of those. The running price for a 2019 used is 45-50k, on a vehicle that sold for 70k new. Give it 3 years and you will be lucky if its worth 20k. Land Rover still existing as a brand is something my brain can not comprehend, I just feel my brain cells dying trying to figure it out. I don't care what else you buy, I'm not gonna fanboy any specific brand. Just please do yourself a favor and do not buy anything Land Rover/Jaguar EVER.
Any car needs to be on service if you dont take care of your car it will not last long. And the newer cars what ever brand you choose its pretty similar. Its a matter your preference
This looks menacing with class. Irony is it has much better reliability than the BMW and Ford days of the past. But it still isn't the best like lexus.

I have ordered one and can't wait to get it. Also, the aluminium panel in the door has a pattern on it which is the UK flag if you look closely. Not many demonstrators seem to know that the front arm rests can be individually slid forward if wanted.
The most unreliable suv you can buy on earth is a Range Rover especially one when it's out of Warranty. Range Rover dealer tried to tell me this is the best SUV around look at our history. Yeah look at a lot of Range Rover history sitting on the ground after that horrible air suspension malfunctions and breaks. 200k and 300k miles later Toyota Landcruiser and a Lexus GX460 laughing driving by one of those heaps of expensive crap. This is what a real SUV is suppose to be with luxury and top reliability.

I wanted to buy one up until I read & heard about so many negatives about the Velar when it comes to reliability. Granted I was going to lease one, any way. But still. They're beautiful looking SUVS but it seems the BMW X5 is the better option. I still want a Velar but it's very poor reliability rating is what ultimately keeps me away. Guess I'll continue to admire from a far.

Hey Eric G wow almost 2 yrs.well my velar don't even have 7000 miles yet but it's been in for service about 7 times.6 of them because of the screens and 1 oxygen sensor.so not very happy with that.am happy with the engine performance that's about it.dont like the suspension ride .the small 14 gallon tank won't make it past Connecticut without having to fill up again.hate the interior space I mean back seats are as small as a third roll seat.n lastly I can't believe and 83 grand SUV have such a terrible radio bass wow just clunks wen deep bass comes on.this my first time with landrover an am so very done.ur were great n service department too.so mostly bad was landrover n their ingeneering I guess.wish I could post this everywhere Land Rover is mention.
@@engineer8057 I haven’t had any problems per se. The check engine light came on a day after owning it. I took it to the dealership and they did an exhaustive set of testing (nothing was wrong), reset the light, and asked me if I wanted to swap it out for a different truck. Apparently, the engine light is an issue with Land Rovers, but I haven’t had a problem since. It really is fun to drive. That said, I have a BMW and Mercedes as well, so I do agree with a few of the other reviews that point out the slight delay with the responsiveness of the touch screens. When you compare to those brands, it’s noticeable.
@@snobbypolitics7792 I have a 2018 GLE 43 AMG and i like it but the maintenance is SO expensive on it, i just put a set of inner brake pads on the rear and that was $960. The car only has 34,000 miles on it. The tires only last about 18,000 miles and that's with normal driving, we have put two sets on it already. Last service bill with the brakes and tires and regular service was $2500!!! I love the velars but have heard and read about numerous issues with the electronics and a few other things. I wanna get rid of the money pit GLE Coupe and get something cheaper on maintenance but don't want to spend $80k on something that's gonna give me possible headaches
@@engineer8057 Ha! Sweet ride! Your GLE 43 was Mercedes saying, "Fuck you!" to my X6 xDrive 50i, lol. But yeah, your concerns are understandable. The person who got mine waited for the 2020 to come out, hoping that many, if not all, the "bugs" would be worked out. I've only had it for just over a month, but again, I haven't had any problems with it. Regarding regular maintenance, we're assuming the maintenance on it will be on par with other luxury brands, so there's no getting around that. Still, the way I'm hoping it plays out for me is that by the time anything significant needs servicing, I'll be trading it in for a newer model or something different. Also, I know this may not help you with your "regular service" needs, but depending on where you go, they will extend the warranty. Mine is covered for 100K miles, not 4yr/50K. They covered the tires and rims as well and gave me free oil changes. So yeah, I'm hoping that helps.
Yes,lol. They have to change the frame rate on the camera to match the vehicles screen pixels example: to capture a 1080p monitor the frame rate on the camera has to be brought up to 120fps. I doubt the cameras there using goes up that high. The other option is to fix it in post but who is doing all of that for a car?😂. Hope this put your mind At ease for future car reviews.
Tata buying Jag/LR was the best thing to happen to the Birmingham-based manufacturer. Ford sucked. Their quality has sky-rocketed (former owner of two Tata-owned LRs). Awesome to see these marquees come back so strong.
I can’t help but thinking that this truck looks like a Ford Explorer or a Ford Explorer looks like it LOL! I had an explorer platinum I think it was a 2017 and it was absolutely the nicest truck I ever owned has every bell and whistle including massaging seats but the $500 a month payment I did not like so I got rid of it.

I'm looking at them both with less than 5000 miles but the Cadillac (NEW) is a better deal price-wise with the new rebates. But I figured I would ask you since you have had your hands all over them both and had the opportunity to drive them both. Let me know your thoughts.
I am getting my wife the XT6, just have more confidence in a GM then a vehicle built in India. Both drive nice just the India built thing makes me nervous.

I love some Range Rovers models and I have one. I have always liked the Velar and really wanted it to be my next on trade, but I just can’t pay 70k for it. As nice as it is I just don’t see 70k and trust me I have looked and looked at these. Maybe a CPO? Not sure what they are running these days.
Hey Joe, I gave u a thumbs up for content and review cause you are one of my favorite reviewers. However, I'm gonna have to ZONK the entire Velar for reliability issues and electric gremlins. The nicest looking Range Rover in my opinion. My friend works in the service dept. and he said he gets cursed out more for the Velar than any Range Rover Land Rover product because of very irate customers. Please read some of the consumer complaints and forum complaints. The Velar is an absolute disaster. Maybe the kinks will get worked out for 2021..
This is my daily driver -- just had a RR Sport TD6 Diesel as a loaner for nearly a month (so many issues that needed to be fixed on a 6 month old car) and now I'm hooked on a diesel sport, best Range Rover I've driven.
This is a gorgeously styled vehicle. If you got the bucks, it's definitely a car to seriously consider especially if you own a ski resort in Vail or something, or if you live in Vermont, Connecticut or Delaware. I left out NJ and PA- they probably just need to consider a less expensive option such as a used dump truck.😄
Pop the g, e and R off the front badge and you get "Ran over". Seriously though, for 77k you're into a BMW X5 50i with a 456 hp twin turbo V8. Just too much of a premium for the Range Rover name.

This is my daily driver -- just had a RR Sport TD6 Diesel as a loaner for nearly a month (so many issues that needed to be fixed on a 6 month old car) and now I'm hooked on a diesel sport, best Range Rover I've driven.

This is a gorgeously styled vehicle. If you got the bucks, it's definitely a car to seriously consider especially if you own a ski resort in Vail or something, or if you live in Vermont, Connecticut or Delaware. I left out NJ and PA- they probably just need to consider a less expensive option such as a used dump truck.😄
