    I appreciate that you include your mistakes when you "don't know what you're doing". I'm sure 90% of the people watching are because of the same reason.

    Thanks for making this video I just got mine in the mail, I’ve been sitting here and the instructions are killing me hoping I could find a video that explained it. I too have to make a 22 inch circle lol and I got this because I’ve made my own wonky ones and the edges were no good.

    Looks like it really "should" be a plunge router to use this completely?

      Yes indeedy. Since posting this, I've replaced the fixed base with the Ryobi plunge router. Much better, cleaner circles.

    Doesn't work with DeWalt palm router.

    This guide look like an excellent accessory but after watching a number of videos the plastic doesnt seen that robust. What is the build quality?

    • @AppleValleyFarmGA

      We have loved ours. The plastic is plenty rigid, but that's also its Achille's heel. It can be brittle. But it's quite hard. We are on our second one in prob 4 years. And I'll buy another.

    What ryobi router do you have the model number?

      Off hand, I don't. But it's their basic fixed base router.

    great video! how deep can you go?

    Umm you all know a fixed base router the base still raises and lowers correct? The bit isn't too long and the instructions are correct. The guide bushing comes out of the center of Milescraft base to install the center finder. If center finder is still sticking out to far lower the base until it doesn't. Please tell me nobody is leaving the bit out that far to start the circle? Lower the base and make shallow passes until you're done. Sticking two inches of bit into the wood is asking for bad things to happen. Ruined part, something breaks or getting hurt if the bit grabs and jumps from the pivot.

      I appreciate your input here, although the snarkiness is a little bit of a put-off. ;/ Still, thanks for your thoughts! I'll say yes, of course we all know that my router can be raised and lowered. But in this case, the base was pulled all the way up and the bit still protrudes. I don't think that's an issue, I think it's just because Miles Craft prob designed this to be used primarily with a plunge router. But at any rate, the bit never stuck out 2". It pokes out maybe a good 1/2". Thanks again.

    I mean what is the depth of the circle?

    • @AppleValleyFarmGA
      @AppleValleyFarmGA  4 роки тому

      I think I understand what you're asking. You can go as deep as the bit will allow.

      @@AppleValleyFarmGA I bought this same after seeing your video, I qas referring to the thickness of it, for example if is 18 inches, can the circle be 1/2?

    Also what’s the point of the centering thing ?

    • @bigredracingdog466
      @bigredracingdog466 10 місяців тому

      If you don't center the bit in the base, your circle will be offset. In other words you'll end up cutting too much on one side of the circle and not enough on the other.
