I can't wait for October to get here. I've got tickets to Hartford, New York, and Boston. And Boston I'll be in Floor B Row 5 dead center stage. It's gonna be the best show ever. And Roger is going to be 67 before then. Who knows how many times we'll be able to see members of the greatest band ever perform. I just wish Gilmour would have gotten on board.
I was in Berlin in 1990 and I was in Oslo 2011, both shows really great!!!!!! But still very different, with almost 500 000 people in BErlin and 18 000 in Oslo... ;-)
I was there. Thought the whole thing was too big, and the perfomance sub-standard. However, the atmosphere was incredible, and I enjoyed that. I can't remember how many times I was asked for my Levi jeans by the liberated people from the East. If you weren't there, you cannot really comment. The video shows no atmosphere. The experience is something I will probably never see again. Not like a Pink Floyd or Roger Waters only version, which are outstanding, but this is still a treasure I cherish.
@lbshore me too! I was stationed in Baumholder, Germany and we took a trip up there for the show. UNBELIEVABLE SEA OF PEOPLE! I was at the very front and I come out in the video got pictures too! NO MATCH EVER OF SUCH A SPECTACLE AND HISTORIC CONCERT! GARCIA, JESUS
I saw some comments on how he shouldn't have gone with all of the artist! I think it was a great move! A real treat to music fans and great treat to all of those who were in attendance that night!
"It is up to us...to work together for progress and humanity so that our grandchildren, when they look back at us, can truly say that we not only preserved the flame of freedom, but cast its warmth and light further than those who came before us." -Ronald Reagan
No. The man with the whistle is ( he died a couple of years after this show) Leonard Cheshire who was a real british air pilot and war hero. He founded the charity that was attached to this concert.
I think that it was fitting for the Scorpions to play at this concert, if any! They have a great theatrical charisma, and they are probably the greatest rock band that Germany has ever produced.
@ruler1978 Cost me about $100 - I was lucky enough to have found a VIP ticket - got to go backstage and eat before sitting in reserved seats. Worth every penny. REALLY happy they shot it.
The Scorpions' guitarist looked so much like David Gilmour in the 70's, that I actually thought it was him with long hair. lol. But great concert! I would love to have been there, or be alive there. :)
Things people that were not there would not know: Entire show was done the night before as a dress rehersal so those of us that were there actually got to "hear" the show twice. Opening acts before the actual show were the Irish group The Chieftans followed by The Hooters!
@KurtSDMF also...if you know anything about the album, there are tons of different characters represented by each of the songs (though some repeat given characters), but Roger wanted different people to represent those different characters and each sing their own songs, with their own interpretations. some people will like and some people won't...that's just the way it is
i saw opening night in Los Angeles of the The Wall on the original tour, so i think i'm qualified to state that Pink Floyd played this the way they wanted to play it back then and Roger is playing it here the way he wanted it played. having Snowy White, who played with PF on the original tour, take Gilmour's guitar parts isn't exactly throwing a nobody onto the stage.
I WAS THERE BERLIN 1990 BUT.... THE WALL WAS NOT LIVE i had stayed overnight at the train station and l heard loud music from the stadium the night before the next day no more than 20yards from the stage when Sinead O Connor sang Mama her mike went out. she stopped singing. But behind her, her Giant broadcast self sang on. The vast majority of the 300,000 in the audience had no idea that the band therein was singin different tunes.the steel breeze rode on the millie vanilli concert NOT LIVE
This is the only moment in my fucking life that I feel celous of people that leves in U.S.A. they×re going to see The Wall 2010 tour Maybe southamerica has a posibility Buahhhhhhhhhh

I can't believe this show is coming to my city in December. It's obviously not gonna be as large as Berlin, but still pretty awesome!

The Wall concerts are more than concerts... I've been on one in 2011. I couldn't believe what I witnessed...
I saw some comments on how he shouldn't have gone with all of the artist! I think it was a great move! A real treat to music fans and great treat to all of those who were in attendance that night!

I would have killed to go to the show. No pun intended. XD
But I would have liked to feel the warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow. :P
The genius behind Pink Floyd!!! i love David too do, and of course Rick and Nick.
Awesome!!!!
No brasil, vai ser muito bom, o melhor som do mundo...
@ruler1978 Cost me about $100 - I was lucky enough to have found a VIP ticket - got to go backstage and eat before sitting in reserved seats. Worth every penny. REALLY happy they shot it.

ha i wonder if roger is going to wear the same thing this time around? I cant wait to find out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 me that was the best concert i hav ever seen :)
The Scorpions' guitarist looked so much like David Gilmour in the 70's, that I actually thought it was him with long hair. lol. But great concert! I would love to have been there, or be alive there. :)
@realsyndikalist I had a opportunity to go, & i did not... i will forever regret that... but I get to see em next month for my Bday !!!!
Things people that were not there would not know: Entire show was done the night before as a dress rehersal so those of us that were there actually got to "hear" the show twice. Opening acts before the actual show were the Irish group The Chieftans followed by The Hooters!

must have been amazing
¡¡¡NO MAMES!!! ¿En serio? Eres un suertudo.
It's part of the song.... The Thin Ice...
Actually that is Roger's son Harry, who was a baby at the time they recorded "The Wall".

There IS still humanity left in people.

This is the only moment in my fucking life that I feel celous of people that leves in U.S.A. they×re going to see The Wall 2010 tour Maybe southamerica has a posibility Buahhhhhhhhhh
Und ich war dabei!
@realsyndikalist did u get 2 meet pink floyd mate
she got the baby and the babe mexed up.
No reunion without Rick Wright. I wonder how Roger reacted when he died, i bet he'd tear off his right arm just to make things right with him again.
alguien sabe comose llama la cancion de intro? cuando salen las imagenes de la construccion del muro
@PULCINHO i agree. No band can make a whole ground floor move like that.
Fuck! I wish I was old enough back then! :=( I always say I was born on the wrong time!
december 21.. FUCK YEAH
