Played this as a kid entirely in Japanese and took me a looong time to finish through trial and error since I couldn't understand anything. I think that made me loved the game even more. Awesome to finally see it explained after all these years. Love the run, love the event.
I sincerely love you guys. Watching you guys practice in stream and run at charities has been an ongoing inspiration to achieve higher goals, as well as serious help boosting moral to continue fighting when things were bleak in my life. I'm sure to continue lurking, saying hello, and complementing gg in chat and getting hype when a wr or pb is in sight. Thanks again everyone.
When I was a kid playing this game, I could never figure out how to get past the guard in Viper. I eventually pinned myself between an NPC and the guard and used that to jump over him! It was very funny, and unintended for sure, but I'm so proud that tradition lives on!
If you need any more encouragement, I'm here to say that I played more of the FFL games than any GBA games including Pokemon. It just sucks you in and you want to try everything, pretty much.
the original SaGa (FF Legends here in NA) were great. i am kinda glad the series evolved and became its own later on, but the first three were close enough to classic JRPGs to feel easier to get into than the newer generations of SaGa after this trio. :)
Am curious; What party setup would be optimal for just a basic run in this game? Robots, monsters, etc. (Am playing but trying to see which may outclass the human/mutant basic setup, especially as hard as the final battle gets too...)
Three years later, but robots and monsters are bad. Robots need an absurd pill (upgrade) grind to bring them up to par and have no special proficiencies. Monsters are just monsters, which are "proficient" with magic, and they don't level up well. Humans are proficient with weapons. Mutants are proficient with magic. Beasts are proficient with martial arts. Cyborgs get some extra stats from their gear. Thing is, everyone is proficient in the legendary swords and the end bosses are resistant to most non-magical damage other than the legendary swords, so that negates the benefit of beasts. That just leaves humans, mutants, and cyborgs. I did cyborgs and mutants.
Me: Did you know it was called Final Fantasy because it was meant to be the last game the producers made?? Oh, and that there is a DS fan translation?? BTW, what is your favorite job? What if y- Everybody: "I'd really prefer if you'd be quiet"
They are telling you to be quiet because its the 10,000th time they have heard a fairweather fan make that statement, which isnt even true. Sakaguchi chose the name anticipating it may be his final game. It was not meant to be Square's final game. Also, this isnt even a final fantasy, its a Saga game, they only named it that way in the west to try to gain more sales off of what was already an established name in the west. I never thought i could be so annoyed by a year-old comment, id really prefer if you'd be quiet.

This was the first FFL I played and I like how you guys destroyed it. ^_^
7:45 for mobile
Saga always interested me but I was daunted by its complexity. After watching this I think I might try out the Saga series!

This one is the only one to use a traditional level up system. Typically you level up specific attributes depending on which ones you use in battle.
Awesome stream
seems like a large and complex game compared to most Gameboy titles
not really u just have to get powerful moves to win
That's Final Fantasy Legend 2. This one is a bit easier and fairly linear
why him always save and reset all time?
For long walk no enemie save time?
Yes, that's right.

I agree that the boss music is great; it's too bad that the remake tune blows.

Bich running, eLmaGus and Puwexil commentating is pretty close to my ideal team... but this game's music is... not... good.
Who's the super cute girl in the back? #FFLove
