I have many Iron Heart flannels, Filson, and love UES flannels (might be the best bang for buck in terms of quality/price). However I just got a flannel from Cotopaxi and for $85 they are very nice, very heavy, and well made. Just another good option for the budget minded. Great review!
Love a nice flannel shirt. I’m a fan of LL Bean’s flannel shirts. I’ve read about this company out of Japan. One day I’ll pull the trigger on one. Thanks for the review. Triple 5er out.
I know. I have half a dozen Iron Heart shirts as well as other Japanese shirts. I said to myself I don't need anymore, especially when considering the cost. But I don't have the one in the video, and now I want it.
Love to see you making videos again, Andrew! I must say, filson’s quality is better, but generally doesn’t match the price that they’re charging. They’ve fallen quite a bit from their old status. Like you point out, very few things are made in the USA anymore and the cost is hard to justify for what you get. Thanks for your hard work, can’t wait to see more content!
I wish to find Japanese slub and gauze flannel shirts WITHOUT Western style pockets, which is fine for chopping wood but not for city living. Though not constructed well, my favorite look on you of these shirts here is the Goodfellow, the cheapest of the bunch. It doesn't shout, the chest pocket is discreet, and it would look best with blue jeans. The boxy cut looks great on you too, hiding your well fed and beautiful belly.
My wife is a realtor and it blows my mind what some of her coworkers spend on clothing…..$2000 dress shoes, $500 tennis shoes, $1000 pants, purses $$$$? I work my butt off and don’t have that kind of disposable income
In case either of you is still wondering, their website has detailed measurements for each piece and production run and even a measuring guide with pictures. Just grab a similar piece of clothing that you already own and follow that guide. Iron Heart UK will also follow up after most orders via email and ask you to check your measurements to make sure. They even went through their available stock and remeasured all of their jackets to see which one of that model would fit me best, so it's genuinely hard to order the wrong size from them.
I have to say the Filson looks to be the best fit of those three. The Target one looks too boxy and poorly constructed; the Iron Heart looks a bit tight and the shoulders in the back are bunching. While the Filson looks comfy. Of course I'm just going by 'look' on a small phone. Actual experience and personal preferences are the true judge.
It would certainly be that first one, the blue tartan - thank you for the thorough review sir. Went ahead and bought my first Iron Heart UHF just now for 250, can’t wait to see this beauty in hand.
While Iron Heart is known for having the best flannels in the game. What they're really known for is having the best denim in the world. Specifically the 21oz Indigo. I own a TON of iron heart and if you think 300+ for their pieces is too much, you're sadly mistaken. It's heirloom quality stuff that is nearly unmatched.
@jeejbeej Maybe they are overpriced. I don't know know what the price difference is, but there are extra costs like shipping. I compare my IH 21oz jeans to a pair of Levis selvedge 501s, which I have, and to me the Iron Hearts are much more superior in quality than the Levis for only about a third more in price. That's UK prices.

Be careful, once you are in you can’t go back! 😅

Thanks so much. Agreed about Filson.
The closest thing I have is from Outerknown blanket. I need to give that ironheart a shot.
Very nice video.
Thanks for tuning in! Cheers, Andrew

Good news - those days for Realtors are over.
@@mrdrd633 lol ok kiddo
I see that Iron Heart shirt is an XXL. How big are you? I'm trying to figure out my sizing, thanks.
Same, I’m here for the fit guide too. Fabulous piece.

What is your favorite flannel?

I have a collection of all types of clothes from a few Japanese brands, which all excel in quality. But Iron Heart is definitely my favourite.
The fact that prices are a lot lower for their clothes in Japan tells me that they are definitely overpriced.
