Heavyweight and rugged, yet incredibly comfortable. It wouldn’t be an Iron Heart fall/winter collection without the UHF shirt, and FW24 offers more options than ever.
For many years, our ultra-heavy flannels have been woven using Peruvian Aspero cotton, harvested from the foothills of the Andes mountain range. We then single-brush the face and double-brush the reverse of the fabric, creating the super-soft flannel that delivers the warmth and windproofing properties our UHFs are renowned for.
As part of last year’s collection, we expanded the range with the debut of the first slubby heavy flannel shirts. Dubbed the ‘SHF’, these models use slub yarn cotton within their substantial 12oz weave. In contrast to the smooth Apsero cotton, this creates a much more irregular fabric hand with significant surface texture. Brimming with distinctive character and rustic charm, slubby flannels proved just as popular as their Aspero counterparts, with more patterns and colourways on offer this time around.
Whether you choose a UHF or SHF, one thing remains the same though-an Iron Heart heavy flannel is a true winter essential.
Appreciate the streamline focus brother! 🔥
These look incredible. :) Do you plan on making a video of the 21oz sashiko workshirt? I really want to see that one.
We covered that shirt in one of our "New Releases" short videos - but as it's now sold out, we won't be making any more vids on it, sorry!
I love the idea of flannels but from almost any supplier they seem to stick to colourways that don't work for me - high contrast, high chroma, primary colours, indigo. Maybe this is a function of the workwear roots and it's hubris for me to expect them to cater to my purely fashion needs but the feeling is that flannels are all designed by guys who already like and wear flannels. I can certainly find tees and jackets that work for me!
Thank you!
"We were going a bit too
Heavy on flannel shirts for some time" Translation: "We are jumping on the cheap stuff bandwagon, but hoping that you don't notice the quality changes now that the yuppies have discovered our work shirts, and are just throwing money our way.
Alex is referring to the number of shirts being released in the collection, which is totally unrelated to quality. In previous seasons, we feel we've oversaturated the range by offering a wide variety of colourways across both western and work shirt styles. For FW24, we've chosen to streamline the collection by limiting the number of colours available in each cut. However, a smaller selection does not reflect any compromise in quality. We hope this helps clarify any concerns!
Shirts for skinny dudes.
why haven't you tried using zimbabwe cotton which is also hand picked and popular with a lot of Japanese brands for its quality.because from what I understand the techniques you will use are the same but you are gonna be using let me put it this way, more cost effective materials, cause lets face it Zimbabwe cotton is 3 times the price of American cotton so are the American cotton flannels gonna be cheaper?iron heart flannels are the best in the market for two main reasons. the way they are made and because you are using aspero cotton. as a fan of iron heart flannels I really hope this is not an end of an era.
If you think that we are in the business of cutting costs to increase profit, you don't know the brand very well.
@@ironheartdenim i didn't say that, if I thought that I wouldn't buy your flannels.
I'm an American cotton farmer and cotton is about 70cents a pound. I don't think the cost of any cotton would be cost prohibitive in a $300 shirt. They can probably use any cotton they want and wouldn't change the cost of shirt.
