O... God.... Bro...... 1) your technical skills of cinematography is amazing and I learn a lot 2) you break stuff down so that anyone can understand 3) this video - gives a lot of value for its content BUT 4) YOUR STOCK FOOTAGE AND MODELS MAKE ME FORGET EVERYTHING YOU SAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys should try polarized sunglasses. Its freaking amazing. Same thing happens when I rotate my glasses in front of my face. It changes the light reflections. Also weirdly makes some screens go black if turned at a certain angle.
Damn, crazy how much more dynamic those sky shots look with the polarizer on there, it looks beautiful! Your description of how it "photoshops the image irl" is super accurate, looked amazing.
The example of straight ahead, no effect, directly behind, no effect, off to the side, wide range of effect is so helpful and answered a big question I had. Thanks!
I absolutely adore your videos! Talk about an underrated UA-cam personality... I honestly feel like I learn a lot from your channel, which is saying a lot. It's very easy to feel like everyone's just repeating each other out there, but I do find the odd useful thing here that I would otherwise overlook!
There's a TON of photo/video-graphy vids on YT to watch but I ENJOY your stuff most cause it's ALWAYS informative AND you put the FUN in funny. "You're probably still looking at Carrie. I don't even know why I show up". Keep up the excellent work PJ!!
It's been a long time since a video could teach me something new. THIS ONE THOUGH. Everyone talks about Polarizers as if they do nothing, but this is like magic.
you are the best youtuber right now in range of filmmaking or something related. Unfortunately some youtuber have no content at all. They record videos weekly and regularly but lack content. Thank you so much
So THAT's what those filters do! I kind of understood ND filters, but not as much as now. And had no idea what polarizers did. Thx for the explanations! And that small dog at the beginning was so adorable!
Omg! Thank you so much for mentioning the steprings! I need 3 of the ND biggest/rarest being the 82mm and the smallest for my Sigma 18-35... saved me a few hundred dollars.
I like how you explain things I wanted to know for ages in a simple manner, so anyone can understand what they actually want, to achieve one or other result.
As some one that learns quickly and just about to start out filming on top of what I already do, your videos are the most helpful I've ever come across. Bravo!!!!
Ok PJ. Cars, women, dogs, waves and tech education!!! This video had EVERYTHING!! 9.5/10, it would have been a 10 if you managed to sneak Tacos in there somewhere. Just saying.
OMG.. I saw a couple of videos about ND and Polorizers but this one 👌This was the one that had all the information I needed to really understand what each of them do exactly. Thank you a lot!!
I love your content! It's not to obnoxious and it's my type of humor as well! Which might actually be obnoxious I have no idea, but I really like your stuff.
Thanks for that tip about buying the Circular Polarizer/ND filter to fit your largest lense and using step-up rings to fit the rest of your collection. You totally saved me a bunch of money. LOVE your humour, wit, energy and taste in ladies. You have dogs in your videos too. Awesome. You just need babies and you'll hit all the target audiences. FYI, your video on the Canon M50, convinced me to upgrade from a Sony A6000 to the Canon M50. Thanks. Keep up the amazing content.
Great video i really appreciate how u explain things as if u were teaching a kid (very detailed and easy to understand) it helps comprehend everything very well.
Got my first actual camera, canon m50!!!! I love it and I think I made the right choice, thank god I enjoy researching and have the patience to wait for a deal!! Got mine for $299 off!!
how did you get this great deal? I'm getting ready to invest in getting an M50 myself and its on amazon for a decent price but I'm looking to get the best deal that I can. thanks in advance!
I watched so many of your video's and now I'm an absolute pro filmmaker! Kidding, no even close... but sure your video's helped me out a lot! Thanks potato ;)
What polarize filters are basically doing is canceling de electric field in certain directions. When the wave is traveling through space or a medium the polarization could be linear, circular, etc so they are just canceling a certain amount of the E field. That’s why it reduces glare
I like your videos , you explained ND Filters very well and I understand better how to use the ones I have, Your video popped up shortly after watching Peter Mckinnons video of his new variable ND filters
Epic breakdown! QUESTION... Can you use an ND filter and a Polarizer at the same time? So you can get that shallow depth of field and cut out bad light etc?
i remember i saw this video a while ago and than i saw your new videos. didn't realise it was the same channel ^^ nice to see how fast you upgraded your studio
Thank you! I had a polarising filter for long time but I never used it before because I thought it did nothing! I had no idea you had to rotate it! I instantly got much better sky colors.
Some guy that is kinda a big deal on UA-cam gave you a shout out today. You may have heard of him, Matti Haapoja. He was live streaming with Peter McKinnon. Dude you are very funny with the stories, look forward to catching your videos more.
Great video! Wish you went into NDIR filters too though, and why you want one with an IR cut if you don't have an Arri or RED (as those cut out IR for you, but most DLSR/mirrorless cameras dont).
Brother. You have great Content. Superb. I am surprised why you have less subscribers. You deserve way more. I wish you all the best and i love what you do. ❤️ From India.
So good man! Your gonna be massive in this space.
Matti Haapoja OMG!! Matti, I love you!!❤️
dude we need to collab! your one of my favs nowadays. love the content
Matti Haapoja claeaaaarly this is a dream. I must be dreaming. Dang I’m going to be so upset when I wake up.
DUUUUDE!!! :O :O
haha seriously your legit and so freaking entertaining! DM me on twitter or something
O... God.... Bro......
1) your technical skills of cinematography is amazing and I learn a lot
2) you break stuff down so that anyone can understand
3) this video - gives a lot of value for its content
BUT
4) YOUR STOCK FOOTAGE AND MODELS MAKE ME FORGET EVERYTHING YOU SAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can not deny anything you are saying man, he so good!
5. It's called b-roll not stock footage.
@@NextLevelCode that's how it's slang called but that's the real term
@@juliogonzalez7773 it is not called stock footage if he shot it himself.
dumbass xD
what do you need to make a video cinematic ?
1. polarised filters and/or
2. slow-mo yoga motage
(not particularly in that specific order though)
And a 40,000$ arri alexa
Wow polarizers are magical ;)
and so are brocolis
Give us your Yoga model.... and you will be spared, Potato!!!
This video was so polarizing..
You guys should try polarized sunglasses. Its freaking amazing. Same thing happens when I rotate my glasses in front of my face. It changes the light reflections. Also weirdly makes some screens go black if turned at a certain angle.
5:25 That blew my mind. I'm getting a polarizer ASAP!
Same here

Omg the intro about the lens hood killed me lol, I always wondered about this
Forget what’s the vlog about, love your model and the tattoo on her hand written OM😻

Great way to teach. A little humor and simplifying! Also great timing on pauses to give slow brains (like mine) time to grasp the info.
Thanks for this informative video....didn't had any idea of polarizers before....now i end up wanting one pretty bad!
I like your videos , you explained ND Filters very well and I understand better how to use the ones I have, Your video popped up shortly after watching Peter Mckinnons video of his new variable ND filters
You have become one of my favourite youtubers in no time.
Just ordered a ND filter for my M50 after watching this, love this video, subscribed.
What size of filter did you get for the M50? I'm trying to decide / figure out which one I should get.
Learned a whole lot from this one video. Thank you!
I appreciate you! thank you so much for publishing this!
You’re Attitude alone is worth the sub.
I have enjoyed your channel. Probably the funniest/informative camera channel I have seen.
Epic breakdown! QUESTION...
Can you use an ND filter and a Polarizer at the same time? So you can get that shallow depth of field and cut out bad light etc?
This is the kind of collabs you should be doing more often! :)
Best video I've seen on ND and Polarizing filters.
Both fun and educational to watch. Thanks for the info, I’m a newbie to the world of photography so I appreciate this whole vid
Great video. I was completely confused between ND and CPL. Now both these filters makes sense.

Holy guacamole! People need polarizers everywhere. That shot on the car window! And here I thought they just remove the glass.
I never knew about using a polarizer for photos of a car. Just wow.

Very refined and detailed specially for polariser. Always wondered how it would look live recording as we do not see the effects on the photo ads.
