Something I have learned making videos and taking photos all these years, is sometimes its the smaller adjustments, that make the biggest impact! Hope this helped a few of you!
Not at all, he just did the biggest favor for them! They are probably very proud and happy Peter pretty much just did a sponsored video without even making a deal with them!
Without a deal?? This is so much an ad, which is totally cool cause Peter needs to pay the bills and make a living. Its better to have these kind of ad's then the shameless go buy this.
ND filters are a game changer for filming cars. If you try to crank up the shutter speed, it will make LED headlights look like they are flickering. With the ND filter, you can expose properly and keep the shutter at 1/50 so the LED’s don’t flicker.
Question: Would you stack 2 separate filters (ND + Polarizer) OR use ND/PL filter combo for filming cars on a bright sunny day? OR only use one or the other?
Your energy and enthusiasm is so contagious and encouraging! I love to watch your videos to get pumped up before going to to record or edit. I get inspired to try new things while also getting some awesome insight on skills I can work. Your encouragement really brings out the best in me and you have helped me in far more ways than just video/photography skills. Thank you for everything you do on here, it means a lot!
Re: UV filters, these are important when shooting at high altitude to filter out excessive UV light as the atmosphere thins and blocks less of it out. For example, if you were to shoot on Kilimanjaro without one, your photos would have a blue tint.
This is seriously one of the most important things for a filmmaker/video creator to do if you want to be filming on a professional level. Go buy & use NDs!
I end up using fixed NDs at times (so I'd get a 2x and a 4x) and if needed stack them. It's not ideal at times, but at times it's actually really nice. I also run a variable ND frequently...so I have a few fixed AND a variable for most of my lenses. Other brands have good variables you can research!
Are you saying not to worry about getting an expensive ND filter, or not to worry about using an ND filter at all? Using one will greatly improve the quality of your footage as a way to ensure the correct shutter speed and delicious depth of field.
Another brilliant video. Thank you, Following your amazing tutorial on "Making Drone footage more cinematic" (back in Nov 2017) I purchased UV and ND filters for my camera and drone. Thank you for the great advice. With lower the shutter speeds my videos are more cinematic, and I've been able to capture some amazing long exposure photos! Also, thank you for all of your other epic tutorials!
These filters are amazing quality. I've got 4 now and adaptors. Just get the biggest filter and some reducers to fit all the smaller diameters. Thanks for the tip, Peter.
That intro though!! 😂 those filters are straight up gorgeous. Ahhhhhhhhhh Pilot Cold Brew Latte! Why did I only by 4!? Argh shutter angle. “I’m not sorry, we’re crushing good content right now.” Im not sorry either - the step up ring thing is a game changer that I didn’t know about until like 4 months ago lol.
Love my ND filter, but I hadn't heard of a mist filter before - will definitely check it out. Great content, but I chuckled when I realised that this 12 minute video was supposed to be a 2 minute Tuesday! :)
Chris, I'm currently using the kit lens for vid on my A7III. Is it worth getting an ND filter for that in your opinion? I do plan on upgrading to a better lens later.
Katie Weinhold I was just watching reviews on ND filters today. Thought this was an old video that came up in my feed because of what I was browsing. Strange.
I know this is an old clip, but I have to say, you not only have a load of experience, you have a ton of personality that is so great. keep it up beeing you PM.
I am learning so much from binge watching your videos. I just started Applied Media at Community College...videography, photography...I have a nice Canon camera but didn't know how to use it....so the fact that you make these beginner videos is fantastic. Thanks so much. XO
I make 95% of my videos with smartphone and gopro do you think i would benefit from a propper rig? DSLRs are too bulky but it my video quality went up loads could be worth it?
So useful - I mean, I’m watching like 3-5 videos daily of this guy. Bro, you’re such a inspiration!! Gonna become a Pro Photo/Videographer for sure! Thank you so much
Hi Peter I have 3 questions: 1) Which vlogging lens would you recommend for the cannon m50? 2) which lens would you recommend for the cannon m50 that I could use to take pretty cool portraits? 3) which filter do you recommend that I can use to get decent color into the footage?
funny thing is on all of these, as soon as i see its a 2 minute tuesday I bump the mouse and see what the duration is. and then I lol and keep watching

Peter your last video on lightroom was awesome! I now have all my presets in my pocket!!!
Great video man!
We have to collaborate someday I sent you an email. 😁🙌🏻
The people at polar pro are pissed cause they have to keep sending Peter new filters when he makes them disappear.
