    ND filters are a game changer for filming cars. If you try to crank up the shutter speed, it will make LED headlights look like they are flickering. With the ND filter, you can expose properly and keep the shutter at 1/50 so the LED’s don’t flicker.

    Re: UV filters, these are important when shooting at high altitude to filter out excessive UV light as the atmosphere thins and blocks less of it out. For example, if you were to shoot on Kilimanjaro without one, your photos would have a blue tint.

    This is seriously one of the most important things for a filmmaker/video creator to do if you want to be filming on a professional level. Go buy & use NDs!

    • @JorgeLopezMedia

      NicksFort yea, but which one since they’re not VARIABLE ⁉️

    • @NicksFort
      @NicksFort 6 років тому

      I end up using fixed NDs at times (so I'd get a 2x and a 4x) and if needed stack them. It's not ideal at times, but at times it's actually really nice. I also run a variable ND frequently...so I have a few fixed AND a variable for most of my lenses. Other brands have good variables you can research!

    Love your videos Peter! Thanks for the consistent and quality content. I was thinking, on your two min Tuesday countdown, when you go over two min, you should replace the countdown clock with “fail”, when, not if, you go over said two min. It’s the little things. Keep up the awesome work!

    Best part of the video was your little addition about shutter speed being double the framerate, but then making your image too bright, thus the need for an ND filter.

    Those step up and step down rings sound great. I think I understand you that you buy the rings you need that fits your standard size ND filter threads and then has the thread size for the various lenses you use on the inside. So I would need a few of those rings to match the various thread sizes on the lenses that I use. Especially when you're renting lenses on a regular bases and can't keep buying filters for every lens you use. I'm off to Amazon to see what the options are. Great tip!
