Chip, thank you so much for the troubleshooting video. I had a clicking, but not running issue. Ran through all of the technician testing manual, and everything had continuity and proper resistance. The only thing I didn’t do was pop out the control board from the white plastic. I watched your video and immediately went back to the dryer and popped out the board. Sure enough, the heater relay burnt out. Found a replacement board online and the dryer is back in working order. Many thanks again for sharing and saving me a bunch of cash.
Your video helped us fix our dryer. Ours is a GE and clicked the same. We also just had a loose wire. Took a while to fix but ultimately we were able to fix ourselves with the help of your video!!!!
I have the kenmore 600 series electric dryer that has a problem with the start button on the control panel, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't ,can I take the panel apart and clean electronic interface buttons?is there a link that would show me how?dryer works great when it does come on
There are different model numbers in that series. Can you provide that? Look on the sticker inside the door. Most of the time the problem isn't the start button. Thanks for watching!
Hi Chip. I have a midea gas dryer that has a major problem. I have a natural gas smell coming from the exhaust vent of the midea gas dryer. and not one person who I have talked to about the dryer problem. do not know what is going on with it.... plus they do not have any diagrams on that gas dryer on google.. if you can PLZ help.
I have very limited experience with gas dryers and none with the Midea. But, I would say you are not getting enough air for a complete combustion or you are getting too much gas. You might try changing the coils. If the smell is occurring when the machine is off you have a leak. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for showing this so clearly. I'm going to try this on mine tomorrow. I get the click but nothing goes on. I've already tested the thermistor and thermal fuse.
I have an LG. I try to start it on towels mode and it does a click, click, click. 3 Clicks it makes. I replaced the full control board and thermal fuse and also made sure the door switch was working. 1st tried full control board. No luck. Def checked the door switch and that was ok. Lastly changed the thermal fuse. Still mskrs the 3 click click click sounds.
@@tcr9315 no, it’s just a micro switch that opens when the belt breaks and the idler pulley falls against its actuator. It keeps the motor from starting when the belt tension is absent.
I love how you go over what you were doing in each narration, and explained your troubleshooting in such a concise manner. I was looking for a video with the same Kenmore 700 Series and lo and behold, here it is! Going to have to do this same troubleshooting and disassembly with my dryer. Wish me luck!😭
Thank you for this video. You saved me so much time and money. For me, it was the circuit board that needed a little solder. It fired right up after adding some.
You can make your own. I have a video for that. Test and Run Dryer Motors | Make A Dryer Motor Tester ua-cam.com/video/kDxIt4OPBdE/v-deo.html. Thanks for watching!

I’m very glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
My board was toasted too, replaced it but doing same thing. I’m wondering if new board is bad
If it’s a new “used” board it could be, or it’s possible that another component might be the issue. Thanks for watching!
I had the same problem and was able to find and fix it thanks to this video, free fix, otherwise I never would've figured it out! Thanks so much!

I've got a Kenmore 600 series dryer doing the same thing, what should I look for?
It’s probably a stuck relay too. Thanks for watching!
Post a video on how you built that test cord.

My Kenmore 600 gas dryer light stopped working replaced bulb still not working and dryer still runs now I'm told to replace the switch
You were probably told right. Sounds like a faulty door switch.
That plug to test the motor is cool. Where could I buy one from

Them dryers are heavy I always put a short piece 2x4 under it while putting the bottom screws back in.
They certainly are. I'd rather work on those models where the bottom is held in place by tabs and slots. Thanks for watching!
@@HarperandKnowles Same here and you're welcome
Great breakdown, extremely helpful

Nice troubleshooting!!
Thanks. It was a puzzle for awhile. Thanks for watching.

Curious how much you charged to fix that dryer?
Oh, wow! That was over year ago but I'm sure I only charged my minimum shop labor fee of one hour. Thanks for watching!
