Wow - When I was a kid I never thought something like the F-16 would be in a civillians hands. Amazing to see, love this aircraft.
Same here. The F-16 is my favorite aircraft. This is a unique circumstance, but it will likely open the door for others
@@HasardLee It's such a special aircraft. Thanks for replying/sharing
@@HasardLeeI thought you liked the F-35 better...?🤔✌️🇺🇲
Mig15, Mig23, F-86, F-16, A-4, Kfir, Mig29, F-16, F-4, and many more are in civilian hands.
@@SoloRenegade You said F-16 twice. I know of all of these aircraft being in civillian hands, but it still amazes me.
It amazes me that we can produce crystal clear, optical-quality plexi canopies that are massive, full of compound curves, and strong enough to withstand a bird strike at 400+ knots. The visibility out of the F-16 is amazing.
Yet chevy can't make a headlamp that will stay clear
A product of good engineering and so, so much maintenance.
This channel is now putting out the best content right now. You can't find this anywhere else. A civilian Viper?! That's huge!
Just what we need another contractor bloating the coffers
Falcon
No one calls it that@@JamesCAlien
@@Yxalitis well I never seen a flying snake.Vipers are Cars. Snakes on a Plane . 😆 🐍 Airline
@@JamesCAlien then you don't know the history of the Viper.
It’s crazy how some American citizens have a better military arsenal then some countries 💀
Imagine the fuel cost
imagine rapacity and vanity of those who have so much money they can play in their own golden pool
@@jero4059 guess thats your own opinion
This was still a DOD approval and purchase. They're hiding the money behind civilian agencies now. These will be used as red air for active duty forces. This isn't some Musk or Bezos purchase.
It's all relative @@jero4059 , there are folks with a lot more money these dues.
Can we take a moment to appreciate a 45+ year old airframe that's been maintained well enough to pull 9G loads without batting an eye?!
This is the one thing that DCS players are missing. Feeling the Gs and the limited mobility to look behind you. Although the bubble canopy is great for visibility actually turning around with all the harnesses is a struggle. BTDT
I have quite similar experience with the VR headset and the limited FOV. What DCS is missing is an accurate flight model and a proper g-tolerance that lets virtual pilots not GLOC after 5 seconds.
there are G force chairs that tilt, but you only get 1G of course
@@patioprimate4740 I used to be a sim instructor in a full motion sim. You get a sense of movement but 9 Gs has a huge effect.
not to mention how disorienting it is to move your head while under Gs little snail in your ear goes nuts
People who havent experienced high G have no idea just how big of a deal it is, how oppressive it is. It is violent and painful. Makes EVERYTHING harder.
The fact these guys have that open architecture and the ability to have and update the A/C is amazing.

This might be my favorite of your videos thus far. Something about the camera angles and the wide canopy views while you're turning. Great stuff.
I really appreciate that you give us key moments at the beginning and in general the fact that you give us this type of content. I was searching for this for a very long time.
I knew these f16 were from my home country🇮🇱, i first immediately recognized the camouflage of the plane and then saw on the seat the (17 'א') which is the first letter on the hebrew alphabet
Great video Hasard! I really liked how in this one you commented as action happened. In previous videos, I jumped a lot back and forth between the engagements and your explanations after. Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks fot taking all of us in this exciting ride! 🎉
I love seeing the Top Aces jets out at KIWA. Seen their A-4s and F-16s delivered by the AN-124, which is always a treat to see so close to home
Seeing all the different perspectives of the takeoff and landing is honestly so cool to see on top of the dogfight.
Amazing video. The F-16 is a marvel of aerodynamic design. Everything I read or watch on those who have flown these aircraft, are simply in love with it. It's not hard to see why?
Keep these videos coming! 👍
it'd be so sick if we could see that radar pov for the beyond visual intercepts
Filming any Radar display imagery has been verboten as long as I can remember. These aggressors emulate different emissions signatures from threat aircraft, so the pilot can configure it to behave like an Su-27SM2 or 3, Su-30SM, or Su-35 with the Advanced Aggressor Mission System.
Now that’s a well regulated militia🇺🇸
Hey Hazard, I am sure it takes away from the visual fidelity, but can you keep a highlight on the opposing jet whenever it's in frame? I know they are highlighted occasionally, but I can't tell if they aren't highlighted because they aren't in frame, or simply because they aren't highlighted.
I have an almost impossible time finding your opponent, and knowing where they are would greatly improve my enjoyment of your videos, as it would help me understand what you are doing and why.
Thank you for the videos!
Thank you for your service and sacrifice both active and retired for this great country. Because of guys like you we have absolutely air superiority.
A great video, Hasard ! Keep up the great work.
That’s was pretty awesome, thanks Hasard 🤘👍
Man I love watching your videos at work! You ever do any flights from Luke AFB in AZ?
really incredible content. Love this channel.
Great learning videos. Thanknyou
A real Rogue Squadron. 💯 Love it. 😊😊😊
its big word to say worlds first ;) i am not a fighter pilot but i have done already 3 different dogfights in Greek F-16Block 52s ,world first published on UA-cam maybe true ! Good video anyway !
Civilian F-16? Love it! Wish i could afford one😂😂
Love how they must put the "experimental" airplane sticker on a F-16....
Great video. If you place 0:00 as the first chapter we will be able to see the chapters separated in the timeline
Man this is amazing stuff, I want to do this in my next life
What is the benefit to maintaining the F-16s and pilots under a contract as opposed to keeping a larger pilot roster on the Air Force side?
Such a fascinating video. Thanks Hazard especially for the detailed explanations. 👍Jet planes are cool. All flight I find fascinating especially as I never want to do it. Too dangerous
Great video Hazard. How much difference did you notice, from the wide mouth intake to the original one? Thanks.
Worked avionics on block 40s and 50s in the air force~ I miss it, and can distinguish that whistle from anything~
Awesome!
❤❤❤thanks for the amazing ride I wish I could of been there
This has got to be the greatest job in the world! 👌
The 80's and 90's didn't show the physicality or mental focus needed to withstand the strain of dogfighting for the fighter pilot role in movies, that's for damn sure. The knowledge of geometry needed to offset and then gain advantages in a blink of the eye must be immense.
Sweet!!! Where can I pick one up Hasard!! LOL
You have to have the best job in the world. So rad.
Highly sophisticated jet from the 70s: pulls 9 g like a champ
My 10 year old sedan: on its last legs
i wanna see competitive dogfighting become a sport
I wish I could meet a single fighter pilot!! My dream man 💜
love your videos up close n personal in viper love it 😍👍
Thank you subscribed and eagerly waiting for you next ops , love to see night ops if that can be made possible but love the ACMS AND BFM
Awesome❤
Was stationed at Spangdahlem working EOR and we had several hot break situations and some didn't go good.
I wish that could be me! I love flying. Games are not enough!
Man I really like ALL of your videos. I wish you could've made videos EARLIER and maybe I would've qualified to be a pilot. Damn.
The shirtless dogfight football scene from Top Gun 2 brought me here. I riked this video!
Cant wait till i take delivery of my TOMCAT and RAPTOR!!!
"You need F-16s to fight the government. Come on man!"
... .... "Challenge accepted.."
Afghan goat herder enters the chat😂
So ive seen a few videos of your and i wanted to ask
Why do dogfights look so slow on camera. Are they actually as slow as they look ? What kind of reaction time so you need ?
That awesome
Damn those Netz look good.
The best turn rate of the F-16 is 350 knots and will never go 1,000 mph, closure rate maybe.
These look like aces , I saw them fly over yesterday
Real life DCS I dig it.
those sidewinder pylons shake so much in level flight they kinda look noodley
I played Falcon 4.0 so much growing up. should have let me have a go
loved that one.
Awesome content! Love watching your channel... also I did buy the Henson razor and your code was applied at checkout perfectly! Thanks for your service and keep up the great video's. God bless.
Such an awesome airframe
What a day you had man
Totally jealous dude
Didn't think I ever would see a civilian own F-16😮
I wonder if it would be possible for the company to offer a back seat dogfight experience to civilian customers at a certain price point. Or even a paid back seat flight experience.
It's incredible video. You can just hear the exertion it's putting you under. I tried to explain to my neighbour why jets are dangerous he did not quite get it.
All comments are fascinating and illuminating.
Who/what is simulating and computing the missile and shell trajectories to determine hits?
Viper still one bada$$ machine
I would love a ride along in an F-16
aye I did my training out of gateway and seen yall flying out all the time
What is a good rate velocity for a 1 circle chase in the viper @ 10k feet?
4k baby! Looks so good on a 52 inch :)
I’m just curious, what do you think of fighters like the F15 and F22?
Never used that brand of razor, but yes mid to high end double edged safety razors outperform anything else for a fraction of the cost.
Have about 8. Addictive. Merkur, razo rock, forget who make the rest. I’d like to try one of these, and the advertiser’s razor too.
Next on the list civilian owned tanker.
It feels kinda funny to think that these are modified F-16A/B "Netz" aircraft.
These airframes have so much history it isn't even funny.
and you guys did a bvr fight? this is so cool
When work becomes play
Man, you have the best gig in the world and your service record is remarkable. What ceiling height are you operating at? Did I hear 18,000ft?
Edit : That pass @ 10:16 is wild.
Wondering why you didn’t use your LIFT AV2.2 helmet?
If you’re beyond visual range does the missile have a “cone of effectiveness” ie an area within which the defensive aircraft is essentially screwed unless they can manoeuvre outside that radar cone?
Yes and no. Depends a lot on the specific missile. You have to defeat two different things at once: the radar on the enemy jet and the kinetic energy of the missile.
Pulse-Doppler radars can be defeated by “notching”, flying in such a way that your plane stays stationary in the enemy radar picture and therefore blends into the background, breaking the radar lock. Older-style radars won’t lose lock this way, but are much more vulnerable to chaff countermeasures.
While you’re doing that, the missile is flying towards you. The missile only has so much energy (fuel) available, and it can only accelerate in one direction at a time. If you’ve ever played tag and juked the person trying to tag you, it’s a similar principle with dodging a missile - you get the missile to go one direction & build up speed in that direction, then you change direction so the missile is going “away” from you too fast to catch you.
The most modern missiles can sort of “turn around” and keep chasing you after a miss under some conditions, but overall I hope this answers your question!
Sir, what was/is your Callsign?
Great vid! I was hoping when you asked about avionics they were going to say they also replaced the block 10/15 analog FLCS with the block 30 digital. The only question remains is how does a small group of board members have enough money between them to afford 29 F-16s?! Are you sure they didn’t order Dodge Vipers and when the jets showed up they just said 🤷 we know what to do with these 🤫 😂
Hasard I had some questions for you about becoming a fighter pilot, is there some way I could ask you those 2 questions?
Hey, we've got four of your jets at my local airfield at the moment (RAF Lakenheath suffolk uk) 2 A4s and 2 Alpha jets. It's great to see somthing diffent there, I hope you are beating up the F35s based there !! Take care guys and thanks for the video.
What does “breakdown” mean? I’ve heard it used multiple times in dogfight videos.
Does it have a after burner?
the clean viper is such a beast :-) .... even if i can only speak of DCS
Even a not so clean viper is a beast according to real life viper pilots. ED just doesn’t
want to model the aircraft correctly, despite SME feedback (other SME than their own who cannot remember stuff).
When your in the back do you think to yourself I would have done it better? Backseat flying?
Burner during the dogfight or MIL power? Great video.
I trim up all the way, speed brakes on. Get to 10 feet and kill speed from 145 to 125 kts. Touch down wheelie. 3 points down coast to 100 while forcing stick foward and working rudders to stay straight. Nws on start pumpin brakes.
Dcs lol
I wonder what engine they have in their's. J79, F100, Or f110? Curious🤔
Best of luck.
I heard that one or two of these F-16’s from Israel flew the top secret bombing mission of the Iraqi nuclear power plant in the early 80’s.
Opera.
An acquaintance (who happened to be the only American involved in the taking of the Temple Mount in 1968) claimed that Benny Peled was in on the planning of that strike, and he was definitely in on the Entebbe Raid.
Story was that Benny called the man to meet him at a cafe. Small talk about the Americans being dullards from Benny. The TV there had CNN on. Benny looked down at his watch at one point and counted down, and then stated that the Iraqi Reactor had just been hit.
Within moments CNN Broke with the report and the video of the F16 tossing a bomb through the the hole in the dome was shown.
Years after being told this, I read somewhere about the King of Jordan being on his Yacht at the Red Sea, seeing the Flight of Israeli jets going over, he called Saddam and told them that they were on the way.
I am more apt to believe the Benny Story, but there was the point that they had to hit a Saudi Flight Path and fake being Saudis to penetrate North, and that might explain the going South to go North. Everyone must have been looking for them.
Storied Air Frames are wonderful.
@@miguellogistics984 I remember seeing an interview with one of the Israeli pilots and he stated when they were flying over the Red Sea at very low altitude they did see the King of Jordan’s yacht. They knew he would try and contact Saddam at that point. The time of their bombing mission they knew the military including the radar operators would be on lunch and the radars were off. They flew their mission at a extremely low altitude before climbing then diving on the target. Only after the bombs started to drop is when the Iraq’s would switch on their radar and open up on them by that time it was to late. When I first see Top Gun Maverick and the started talking about the mission in the movie the Israeli mission immediately popped into my head.
@@JB-bs1se Thanks for all of that. Shows that I was not completely off on all of the things rolling around in the head. Below Radar is always a great move when you are dealing with Missile AA. Those things just come and get you. While my Great Uncle brought his flight High over the German EW and Fusing Command Radar, then came in below 10k' having already removed all armor, and let the AA go off at 20K' and direct hits pass through the B17.
Hooray for Benny Peled! Planner of Opera and the Raid on Entebbe. Skillful Planner.
IYAAYAS - Without AMMO its just another passenger aircraft.
Do the front and backseats experience different amounts of g’s?
Why do you have a red star behind your helmet?
Now i want to have a f 16 in my back yard
How many hours of flight do these F16's have? In Belgium they're getting retired after 8000 hrs.
I would pay any amount of money to ride shotgun in the backseat during a sortie. As a civilian pilot, one of my top bucket list items is to fly in a fighter and "dogfight" one time. Just once and I'll be satiated with life. Playing laser tag with a couple of Extra 300's isn't the same as doing it in 4th gen falcon's and vipers. Top aces could add that product to their business model. Sure, they've got their contracts with the government and help train but damn, can a brotha catch a ride, once?
P.S. Hasard, thank you for partnering with Henson. I've never heard of them before, and yet, after your pitch for their product, I researched them and just bought the whole package using your promo code. I hope that helps your channel and your business, and I think this new razor will benefit me. It makes sense. I shave my head; I'm bald by choice and have used the Gillette Mach 5 Fusion. I like the idea of using only 1 blade instead of 5. I am very prone to razor burn and irritation because of my skin type and I have a coarse beard type. It's rough. I feel the Henson will be smooth and solve shaving issues. Thank you, man! Seems like a good product to pitch.
That was a close pass. Was that still outside the safety bubble
