It's amazing how fantastic the F-16 is. When I was in college in the early eighties , I worked near Carswell Air Force Base and General Dynamics so every Saturday 20 B-52's would take off from Carswell and f-16s were always in the area after production they would fly the f-16s out six at a time
Thank you for the great content and bringing us along on your journey, I'm envious of the job you do, it was the path I wanted to pursue in the Canadian air force, but the goal I never achieved. Keep up the great content, many of us appreciate being able to ride along.
Here in israel we have a fleet of f16 that are grounded because there is no use to them, and its sad to see them fade and rust and decay in storage and this video made me soo happy cuz i can see that couple of them are not in the boneyard anymore and found some use👍
All those jets and pilots came thru Hill AFB in 79-81. 388TFW 421st TFS BLACK WIDOWS! 16thTTFS and 34th TTFS were the training squadrons, later on Luke AFB got more of the training duties. Hill AFB was the Depot Base. I was there when we had F-4's still on the tarmac and we transitioned to F-16's. 4th and 421st were the first operational combat ready squadrons in the USAF. F-16 Falcon Fixers!
These guys fly over my RV constantly. The first time I saw them I told my wife Israeli F-16s flew over. I immediately hopped on the internet and found out who was actually flying them. Amazing to have such historic aircraft in the air!
Im honestly amazed at the moment, as someone who is active USAF and works on the E3 I had no idea there was a private company doing red air. Cant help but wonder if I've run into these guys in the past during training sorties.
Top Aces was started by a bunch of retired RCAF jockeys. They also currently provide red air for the RCAF with Alpha Jets and red air for the German airforce with A4N Skyhawks
Curious what did he merge with in the fight? Amazing how these aircraft from the 70’s -80’s are maintained and still withstand all the stress of combat maneuvers! Great job.
This is so cool! I was watching a f16 on Flightradar24 from Mesa Gateway and was like why is there a f16 flying over here with a transponder on? Cool to see these and hopefully will fly over my house 😁
Awesome that they’re privately owned F16s! Wondering if Israel might have anymore for sale? P.S. I know the FAA has balked at civilian’s owning supersonic aircraft in the past. I remember watching an AARP video, of all things, about an older retiree gentleman who got geared up and approved to fly a Harrier jump jet that was being restored to fly in airshows. A big part of that video was about how the FAA was all over every aspect of how the Harrier was operated and making sure that every rule and specification was followed to a tee.
No doubt my dad help build those F-16's. My dad worked for General Dynamics at the main assembly plaint in the 70's and into the 80's then in '83 GD transferred him to Edwards AFB doing r&d for avionic systems for future F-16 models, my dad retired in 2006.
We still buildin' them! Well, we work on them at Plant 4 but Greenville is building the new ones right now! The V or, block 70, is the "new and improved". The tech in the F-16 seems so rudimentary compared to the F-35. It's amazing how good the F-16 still is til this day.
My daughter has been in the Airforce for just about a year now. Shes currently stationed in Kadena Japan doing repair work on the jet engines for the F16s and F15s. I just had to share this video with her as I thought shed get a kick out of it. Also Id like to say thank you for your service.
Amazing aircraft. Flies like a gem. Could t believe how smooth it flew when cruising and then how fucking fast and intense we got into dog fights. Insanely awesome machine.
Those (300) Israeli F-16s have a history. F-16s A and B were first had been sold to the Imperial Iranian Air Force( Iran was allied of the U.S, but after revolution79 in Iran, the new regime's anti-U.S policy cancelled them all unilaterally. Later they were sent to Israel and operated there until their retirement.
The history of this fleet is monumental. Great to see them flying in their original "Iron Eagle" colors instead of rotting away in a museum. Also glad that Croatia was not allowed to buy them, because then they would fly in different colors.
Just bought you book, Hasard. Cant wait to read it! I thought your interview of the Fighter Pilot Podcast was incredibly insightful. Your channel is awesome! I applied to the RAAF back in 1997 and was bounced on my family's medical history. I passed every other test they had. Flying an F-18 is all I ever wanted to do since I was 13 years old. Studied hard in school. Trained in the gym every week with someone my neighbour recommended... my neighbour was an RAAF F-18 pilot. I still didn't make it based on something I couldn't control. My parents medicals. I believe the entrance limits are different now, but this video here... is all I ever wanted to do. I have a law degree now and a great career in IT Cybersecurity now (self taught) but... I still follow everything about fighter pilots like yourself. You had the chance to do what I always wanted. I watch your and others brilliance in this incredible role of air space defence. Respect feom Australia 🇦🇺
I monitor FlightRadar24 all the time at work and have always wondered about Top Aces and why they were flying random planes out over the gulf of mexico and the pacific in crazy flight paths. I figured it was to train pilots from other countries. After watching this video I realize that they are probably dogfighting pilots whose planes will never show up on that site. Still fun to watch the T-38's, stratotankers, E-3's, poseidons, as well as the countless other planes that might be flying out there. Great video.
Interestingly, this company managed to get their F-16As and Bs FAA certified. As of now it's 9 A models and 2 B models that are certified and registered. This means they aren't classified as experimental category, have N numbers, and can be used for certain categories of commercial flights.
Crazy thing is these old jets still look modern. It just shows how fast humans progressed in terms of design and development. More so after WWII until the 80s. Now it's more technological advancements that trickle into new equipment. I'd argue it's more of an evolutionary progress now and less revolutionary like it was back in the days. Anyways, this is so cool to see civilians fly these beasts.
That's Crazy, they actually got a hold of 2 of the F-16s that did that Iraq Nuke plant hit in the early 80's. I live minutes away from this airport and had no idea they did this out there! I see F-18's, C-130's, even V-22's but didn't know there was a company doing this out of PHX/Mesa Gateway! So freakin cool!
It's amazing how fantastic the F-16 is.
When I was in college in the early eighties
, I worked near Carswell Air Force Base and General Dynamics so every Saturday 20 B-52's would take off from Carswell and f-16s were always in the area after production they would fly the f-16s out six at a time
MAN! You go me so excited there for a minute...
Sell them
I hear ukraine might be in the market for some F-16's fairly soon...
in Cuba same happens with MiG29k
@@warhorse03826 Ukraine doesn't have enough pilots, and they take a lot of time to train.
@@bomcstoots1 Israel try selling some old F-16 and the US blocked it.
Former "B" shop'r here. Was at Hillfield from '80 to '83. Always enjoy seeing her fly.
Maybe some day they will open ride alongs to the public. That would be the dream!
Thank you so much to give us insights to these operations! It was so interesting to watch!
Greetings out of switzerland
Wow!! The history in that small fleet of vipers!! Definitely one of the coolest videos you've ever done! More please!!!
When you take DCS too serious...on a 'serious' note: this is AWESOME!
Drone camera footage on point.
I thought the President said Americans can't buy machine guns? Turns out we can buy stuff way better than machine guns.
Curious what did he merge with in the fight? Amazing how these aircraft from the 70’s -80’s are maintained and still withstand all the stress of combat maneuvers! Great job.
I might be wrong but I think he said they were training with US F-35s.
Best freaking JOB ever! How much fun is that!. Lots of responsibility, goodtimes, and helping your Nation. Well done!
Literally the only thing I want is a ride on a fighter jet
This is so cool! I was watching a f16 on Flightradar24 from Mesa Gateway and was like why is there a f16 flying over here with a transponder on? Cool to see these and hopefully will fly over my house 😁
Thanks for bringing this experience to us! This is motivating to keep pushing hard to become a fighter pilot myself one day! Thank you!
I always love the adversary liveries.
@Gregory Franklin Mb, thank you for the correction 👍, my opinions still stands the paints are cool.
This was fricken awesome to watch. Great video, mix of action and interview. Love it.
What a polite maintainence chief - he called you "Sir" on every sentence - Think it should have been the other way around !!
The fun police trying to bog down people trying to fly? Color me surprised...
I think they sold them 4 more jets earlier this year
No doubt my dad help build those F-16's.
Really nice Top Aces for conserving the original camouflage of the Israelis F16a/b, it's part of history.
hands up for you guys!!
You used the giant Antonov? It's crazy to think it's gone now.
We got civilian F-16 before GTA 6
Shut up. We get life before gta 6
Dream job!
The drone shots at the end of the aircraft in hanger was cool, great flying to the drone flyer
It would be nice if these guys could bring back some F-14s
RIP the An225, you were very respected.
While I share the sentiment, the Antonov in this video was an An-124.
@@ImpendingJoker oh thought it was the 225 looked similar.
I saw one of these land at Luke Yesterday. I about sh!t when I saw the IAF paint scheme.
You saw “Mig Killer” a replica of a scheme used in desert watch. That wasn’t top aces
The history of this fleet is monumental. Great to see them flying in their original "Iron Eagle" colors instead of rotting away in a museum.
Also glad that Croatia was not allowed to buy them, because then they would fly in different colors.
More like Israel wasn't allowed to sell them to Croatia ...
Can you imagine a private company owns more 4th gen jets than most countries. I love America 🥹🇺🇸
Happy to see those birds still flying.
All this military jargon his so good to hear. I miss it sometimes.
i wanna see tom cruise flying this on a mission
FINALLY! Been wanting an F-16 for yard work for ages.
Never thought I'd see an F-16 with a red star on it.
And i must admit. It goes well with that sand camo.
0:33 Bro i need to know WHO did that drone shot!!!!
Col.John R.Boyd would be beaming , seeing that his jet is still kicking ass.
Arizona is such an awesome place, i hope to live there someday.
Awesome. So this crew basically run their own fighter wing. So cool! Was that you flying that break for landing back there, Hasard ...?
Snake was very well spoken. It's clear he is a scholar of the OPFOR subject in addition to being a pilot.
Ahhhhh my childhood memories of playing this game called Strike Commander
NICE! Dough Masters & Chappy will be VERY pleased!
I would love to take a tour of that facility, keeping our warfighters sharp. Keep working on your craft guys!
Crazy to think that 16 bolts are holding on each wing on one of the if not THE best dog fighter in existence or ever made.
