Without looking at any other posts (!) just looking at the targets and chrono data, the “winner” is the Eley.......no question in this scenario, even in the semi posh rifle the Eley was the more consistent ammunition. Having said that both makes had serious flyers! When I was growing up in the 60’s I belonged to my village 22 rifle club with 3 teams, two of which shot nationally, the ammunition we shot then was Winchester super X subs and as far as I can remember never had flyers. The average score for the A team was 98/99-100 at 25yds, I still have that rifle a BSA Martini action! Thank you for your time putting up these excellent videos, much appreciated. Kind regards from across the pond Clive.

Its an entertaining comparison. The SK Auto shoots well in the 1022 clone. The Eley Benchrest Match is probably not worth it for that gun at that range. But the Chrono reveals they are not the same ammunition. The Eley Benchrest Match has much more consistent velocity. There are some important unmeasured variables like rim thickness, overall cartridge length, projectile mass, bullet concentricity. If those are equally consistent, then in a bench rest gun, and especially at longer ranges, the Eley Benchrest Match might very well hold together when the SK Auto starts to open up.
Thank you for the video. My information has Ely as a UK product; SK is a German product. Ely has a wax lubricant; SK has an oil lubricant. I have SK Long Range 22lr and Lapua Center X 22lr with the same markings on the brass of each: I understand from others that Wolf 22lr brass is also marked the same. To my point: I have found only one process on 22lr that shrinks target MOA at 50-100 yards (no wind helps). That process is ensuring that the 22lr driving ring(s) are as close to perfectly round as can be obtained via a resizing die. I use a Neil Waltz die that reshapes the 22lr driving ring(s) to 0.225 inches. Consider: You mentioned how you clean a rifle to avoid damaging the crown which would affect MOA negatively. Now using the same logic, if the bullet is not as close to round as it can be made to be, AND the diameter is not sufficient to positively engage the rifling, what do you think the effect will be on MOA?
Wolf 22 target is made by SK in Germany. Eley has partnered with Remington for high quality 22lr ammunition. some of the various 22lr match uses powder that smells like burning anti-freeze, indicating that the powder is a petroleum based powder.
As always, great video. My Kidd heavy barrel shoots the Eley SA Benchrest absolutely lights out. CenterX is the only thing that comes close, but the Eley Benchrest is always better. The Eley shoots fantastic at 50 AND 100 yds. what's with those VQ rifles? I haven't seen a vid where they shoot very well.
I recently also got some of the sk semi auto. So far in my 10/22 it shoots great ,one jagged hole at 30 . From sk standard that I used to shoot the semi auto is a bit faster. So far I'm impressed bit still need to get more rounds down the tube to get a real good feel for it .
I realize this was 3 years ago, so hopefully SK has "fixed" this issue. It seems to me that their velocities are hovering right around the transonic range, which confuses me as to what this ammo is actually for. Maybe dinner plates at 25 yards?
Eley has a unique smell that I have only found in one other brand and that is Aquila. Both have very waxy bullets and I wonder if they are made by the same company. Of course I do not have your experience with that many premium brands.
Nice surprise to bring out the cz. The Eley out of the cz shot decent groups. My concern is the point of impact change (if you didn’t adjust scope). What do you attribute that to? Bedding issue?
I have tried several brands of RWS Target ammo in my CZ455 & AnschutzMPR64 and didn’t have any good groups. It really shows how different ammo shoots completely different in different rifles even the same make of rifle. I look at the RWS Boxes ( gold boxes), and they are the best looking of any .22 ammo boxes !😂😂😂
Why did you come here to spoil things. I told the wife its the rifle I need a new more accurate rifle LOL. I will test again on a calm day, wish I could on an indoor range.
Lol i apologize. I didnt know the angle you were working there with the wife. I have a brick of SK semi auto thats shoots 1/2" 10 shot groups with my custom Kidd with that being said ive also had the wind work me over pretty good at our sunday matchs, but one thing is for sure the particular lot# i have now will shoot, the next lot# might not. Btw Tell your wife my apologies you need a new rifle.
Thanks Chris, it is a pro chronograph with blue tooth add on. Have had it for years. Now they make the chronograph with integrated blue tooth. My mic was not picking up the voice but it reads the numbers to you also.
@@chrisreynolds8488 I may just do that as I do have some X Act handy though I have never been impressed. I have always found that for me Midas+ seemed to do better.
Victor Reyes , just asking as I’m not that technical but love my shooting! Surely if the barrel is free floated the fact the swivel is resting on the bag wouldn’t make any difference? And do you really get barrel flip with 22lr? Kind regards
When testing loads or 22lr lots. The one thing to eliminate is any obstruction that's going to interfere with the stock riding the bags. Having a good bedding and a free floated barrel is a major plus. Minimal to no cheek contact on the stock and the slightest grip on the stock. What you want is consistency. I shoot a 6mm ppc build by Gary O' Cock . Stolle Grizzly II with a McMillan Edge stock. And a lot of practice. And a good trigger.
I have an Anschutz mpr 64 and I bought several few boxes of ELET TENEX@$18/ box 🥴and I was thoroughly disappointed it didn’t do well in my rifle at all. (Very disappointed) however 1.S/K LONG RANG, 2. ELEY MATCH, and 3.FEDERAL ULTRA MATCH did very well. @100yds.ie(in that order), It all depends on what your particular rifle likes. long range and federal ultra match in their order did very very good
great video - thanks for taking the time to chrono and explain what you're doing. some nice groups with those eley rounds!
12:55 to 13:05 is the useful chronograph info. Thanks for the videos!

Drool Martini Action serious drool thanks Clive for the encouragement!
Really enjoy your videos sir! Keep up the good work.
From the chrono info id go for the Eley. IF my rifle likes it.

Trees are blowing in the backround, thinking some of those "fliers" were a weather report. Good video's btw, thanks.
I think you're absolutely right they are totally different

Good presentation and a fine series. Keep on shooting! mwagon
Nice video. Beautiful 10/22. Good lookin CZ. Looks like Eley for the win but SK not bad. I think SK and Lapua are manufactured at the same place.

Looks like Wolf Match .22LR ammo is now made by ELEY, In England no longer made by the German SK LAPUA Plant ie ((GOOGLE). 😉
@@jimhamilton3544yes - that is correct, Wolf Match is made by Eley
Easy choice. From bolt action Eley semi auto bench rest. Two really tight groups.

Try checking the rim thickness and weight of each round. I have been doing this and found that it does make a big difference in group size

Aguila use the same primer as Eley. But Aguila is Mexican and Eley is UK ;-) Both are great ammo.
@@ysteinkristiansen yes they are good ammo especially the Eley.
ES and SD was much, much better with the Eley. Easy choice!
I like SK ammo, but I'd have to go with Eley on this one. I would be shooting them to 300+ yards, and I've got to have that lower extreme spread.
Always enjoy your input, sometimes the intro and details are a bit long winded. Is it not possible to put the ammo specs etc as a footnote .
I noticed that the Wolf Match Extra ammo has an Eley stamp on it. So I guess it’s made by Eley, but is it the same as ELEY?
Made by eley but wouldn't say it is the same and wouldn't say it is better than the days of old either.
54 degrees isn't a good temperature to test 22lr ammunition, best accuracy will come 10-15 degree's warmer.
Nice surprise to bring out the cz. The Eley out of the cz shot decent groups. My concern is the point of impact change (if you didn’t adjust scope). What do you attribute that to? Bedding issue?
Sk if I’m not mistaken is made by Lapua. So it’s not the same as Eley. You should try some RWS R-50 in the CZ. My 452 loves it.

Try the Lapua x-act on one of your videos. I know they are pricey but I love them. Thanks again
@@chrisreynolds8488 I may just do that as I do have some X Act handy though I have never been impressed. I have always found that for me Midas+ seemed to do better.
SK = Lapua. Wolf = Eley.
Believe you are right Joe -- Thank you
I love both the SK and Wolf ammo
Something to be said about a bolt action
..you haven't watched the family day at the range then?!.....
Ruger American and Savage A22 shoot better 👍 … just saying. Great channel 👍
What's the distance please??
Remove the swivel stud to eliminate that vertical, its hitting the bag. every time you shot the rifle would lift
Plus your putting pressure on the front bag with the swivel stud.
