I was going to build a pc with a 7800x3d and a 7900xtx. But there was a sale going on and I got a pre-built pc (7800x3d + 4080 ) for AUD2900. The deal was unbelievable and there was no way i could hsve built something that could have outperform that combo for a cheaper price.
Same I’m upgrading from a 2070 super to a 4080 super. So for me it’s a huge jump. I get that should/could be closer to the 4090 but it’s makes sense for they price that’s it’s not as good
I don't find it boring for people that never bought the 40 series, and now with a price drop, it is a perfect time to buy a 4080 Super. If you bought a 4080 than the 4080 Super is worthless and boring.
Wdym? Both are priced the same. But soon AMD will drop the xtx to $900 and hopefully lower than that, now that the 4080 super is becoming more available.
I'm so glad i took your advice from your 4070 TI Super video. I bought one of the few remaining 4080's just a few days before the 4080 Super launched and saved a whopping $360 AUD. It''s just a basic PNY card, but it was cheaper than the 4070 TI Super and will perform only slightly less than the 4080 Super.
Decent buy. If it was that price a year ago i would have upgraded from my 3080. But now and it's so late in the gen I thought I might as well wait the 5080 lol. That's the best price I've seen for a 4080 though.....the price it should have been since it launched. $2200 or whatever it was originally was just a massive joke lol
@@PCgamingbenchmarktime It's a strange feeling. I feel a bit smug that I got a 4080 for $1500 AUD and that the Super isn't that much better. But at the same time, I feel like I've been manipulated into buying a card ahead of my planned upgrade because I have absolutely no idea where prices will go. At the end of the day $1500 is the most I've ever spent on a single component.
The 4080 was on sale for $1499 Aud for 3 days before the super came out. That's probably what it always should have been. The 80 series had no business being a 4 digit card. At $799 usd it would have been a compelling buy, now its just too little too late. It was interesting to note that frame generation was strong with the super, unfortunately I couldn't give a damn about frame gen but it wad interesting to see since its almost identical in every game with frame gen on lol
They couldn't make 4080 any better. It was already 1 1/2 generation ahead. Nvidia purposely left 4060 in previous gen, 4070 next, 4080 1 1/2 and 4090 2 gens apart. 4060 super will logically have a bigger hop, because there is plenty of margin.
Just bought a 4080 super along with a odyssey G9. I was going to get a 7900xtx but the Ray Tracing performance for an extra £50 was worth it for me. Jumping up from a 1070. Looking forward to Saturday
I'll give credit for at least showing individual game benchmarks, unlike most other reviews. But just show rasterization performance for each game if you wont have a dedicated upscaling section.
I just bought this gigabyte rtx 4080 16GB OC card for $1,099 USD at BestBuy. I was going to purchase the amd radeon 7900xtx and saw this in stock. I hope I made the right choice.
I don't know what results you used to charts, but in tests where MSI Afterburner is used, the difference between 4080 and 4080 Super is 1-2 fps absolutely everywhere.
@@GearSeekers I've seen this on several tests with MSI Afterburner monitoring. It's the same with framerate 1% low and 0.1% low - the results are not much different. The difference between the 4080 and 4080 Super is only in the price.
I own a 7900XTX and I bought a 4080 Super to swap because the driver issues that AMD STILL has to this day. I don't care what anyone else says; I've had more driver crashes/timeouts in the year of owning it than I've had with ANY nVidia card in 5yrs. Using a 7800X3D and 128gb of DDR5 5600 RAM, I am not bottlenecked anywhere in my system and the 7900XTX Sapphire is absolutely the worst GPU I've ever owned.
its not the best 7900xtx is even cheaper than the 4080 super. and more vram of 7900 xtx is what I can actually say is better for next 3 year along with the amd updates it gonna get better in terms of performance.
People are trying really hard to resell 4080 super prices for more than the original 4080 msrp I’m hoping that these efforts flop and people see that these cards need to be cheaper
people keep whining and crying but still pay for overpriced nvidia cards due to which now AMD cards are also becoming overpriced cuz anyways people just go out and buy these cards even if they are not worth it, I hate this.
@@MLife1972 yes I am surprised China has not yet started making cards which are same as 4090 in terms of raw performance and 10 times less expensive . I am sure China has the technology but not the interest.

Hello TPU!
I have a quick question, are you planning to investigate or perform your tests regarding coil whine in graphics cards in the future? :)

You can just overclock the GDDR6X by 700-1000Mhz and have your core sit at around 2850+ and you have a 4080 Super.

so you paid an extra 200 for a card thats 1 or 2 percent faster than FE. smart decision lol
