Well, to be fair, in Empy's mind he probably did think that showing people a mythical being from outdated belief systems could be CREATED with human science would be evidence against divinity. You simply need to believe in the imperial truth that the Emperor protects - no religion involved - even if he protects by creating beings with wings called angels or some such thing.
If The Angel was indeed made with massive wings it would lend credence to the theory that Sanguinius was also designed with wings and was not a product of random mutation.
Interesting theory, I never considered that. The question is why? Did the chaos gods seek to have him chase his own death as he was possibly meant to be the emperors heir?
another theory that could be tacked on to this video: the angel dreaming of purity creates a warp presence, and human souls in the warp it finds worthy get reincarnated into saints, rather than being made by the emperor directly
@patrick howard well given how insanely over powered this proto primarch is it would act as the Imperiums ace in the hole. Basically a almost unstoppable juggernaut of destruction against xenos and chaos.

Loved this video. A sound theory with strong evidence. Also: Emps has a bad track record of creating uncontrollable experiments. There. I said it. Come at me, Inquisition.
You're right though. And even when they aren't uncontrolled, they don't quite turn out right. Seriously, Big E made a huge mess of things. Every caste system (which is what the Imperium is) has had sons try and take their father's thrones. And these were sons who were actually flesh and blood of their fathers and grew up with them and their mother. Not vat grown. You don't bond much being vat grown. So, anyone with a cursory grasp of human history would have seen the Horus Heresy coming. Plus, human history also shows what happens when you concentrate civil power in too few hands. You get a system where the people at the top grow increasingly paranoid and repressive of the people at the bottom until the system corrects itself. Usually through revolution or collapse.Again, you can see this stuff coming a lightyear off. Plus removing all religion almost guaranteed big E would be worshiped. The whole thing is a comedy of errors.
Wasteland Or what if Big E had planed all of this? The removal of religion , the Horus heresy. We do know that Big E is an extremely power psyker, so could he not have seen the Horus heresy coming or even if he didn't use his psyke to see the future , he must have had known what would happen in this caste system ( the son overthrow the father). I guess what I am trying to say here is that what if Everything Is Going As *Planed* By Big E ?
With how crazy powerful this angel is, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a direct clone of the Emperor, but without tens of thousands of years of practice with its insane levels of power, it went a little crazy, hence the Emperor making multiple primarchs that all held some but not all of his traits. I now want Fabius Bile to succeed in cloning the emperor and ending up with another of these angels and it proceeding to rip and tear its way through the warp, or the emperor to die, only to come back in this backup body he has stored away.
First Prototype: wipes multiple cities off the map and deems everyone unworthy of the emperors love and thus unworthy of life itself. Emperor: oh shoot, guess i have to fix this shit now.... Goes on to build 20 more with only a few tweaks in their genes..... And it worked out juuuuust fine^^

I think the Angel is connected to both theories you mentioned. He was the proto-type primarch and as the Emperor's favorite son the Emperor in his deep sleep upon the golden throne manifests his will and power in the living Saints which act as the emperor's "Demons".
Nicholas Squires Good joke. But all of the Costodes were made that way. It is so far unheard of where Costodes get recruits, if they do that at all. If that is wrong, I will gladly retract my statement.
@@crypto1223 Yeah. No, all Custodes were recruited from Terra before the Thunder Warriors were around and genetically enhanced far beyond an Astartes but below a Primarch.
crypto1223 I was led to believe they were the descendants of the leaders who opposed the Emperor back on Terra. Kind of like, your sons are mine and you will lack any heirs so your dynasty will die.
I think Malcador is sustained in his extensive old age by the Emperor's psychic might and being an extraordinarily powerful psyker himself. I don't think they were ever intended to be one and the same.
I made them all weaker, and more susceptible to suggestion so as not to be as independent. I also gave them command of an entire legion of their respective mini-mes, legions upon legions of Imperial Guardsmen, an entire fleet geared for extended galactic conquest expeditions along with all the support craft and personell required, a name, a fuel card, a packed lunch, and I hid a can of Fix-a-flat in the "Operator's Manual" storage room of every flagship. They'll be so busy running their fleets and legions, they won't have any time to misbehave. Not as effective, but the best "babysitting" tool I've come up with since the "VCR".
I favor the idea that the Primarchs are mass produced versions of the Angel. Instead of having all of the Angel's traits, the Emperor only gave the Primarchs portions of the Angel's nature. That way they could be specialized enough for each of their tasks (Horus Heresy books routinely imply each Primarch had a specific role) But also built in a way that they could be dealt with in a more manageable way since they wouldn't have everything.
I could not help noticing how when the Angel went nuts he somehow managed to combine the worst character traits of several (if not all) of his brothers: obsession with perfection (Fulgrim), religious fervor (Lorgar), bloodthirstiness (Agron), farther insecurities (Horus), etc. It's just like with wings and and warp proficieny: where other brothers have one trait, he displays them all (or at least many). P. S.: IMHO, the living saints are most likely to be creatures made possible through massive warp emanations of Imperial Creed cultists and possible support of Emperor's current warp form (whatever is the best way to define it); since neither factors were present during the Angel's activity, I'd place his connection to saints very doubtful and the "zero Primarch" theory much more likely.

Maybe Sigmar said "Pa, you have a flaming, daemonkilling sword, covered with golden holy light, immortal and the four call you the Anathema. I say save Isha and have babies the old fashioned way." You said only Eldar can take the Big E without literal exploding climaxes.
@@bobmilaplace3816 : Who said that, the Dino-quisitor hisself? Still, I guess maybe Isha would survive?
I wonder then if The Angel was ostensibly Primarch Zero if that means that his Gene Seed might have been the basis for the Thunder Warriors? Seeing as how the Thunder Warriors are proto Astartes, though more unstable and violent perhaps those traits were inherited flaws, rather than programmed features or unforeseen errors on the part of Big E.
No. The thunder warriors were created through a completely separate process entirely. It involved a lot more psyker stuff from the Emperor himself, if I'm not mistaken.
I have to wonder what the Imperium would think of "The Angel" if it were to have been released before Robute Gulliman was brought back. I for one certainly think the Ecclesiarchy and Inquisition would absolutely LOVE him. I mean really, his behaviour matches them to a fricking T! Hell, he's pretty much exactly like what I'm almost _certain_ the Ecclesiarchy preach about the Primarchs in general! In all honesty, he was just born (made) a few thousand years too early. He'd be viewed as indispensable by the current Imperium, I'm sure. Well... the Imperium just before Gulliman's return anyways.
A test tube could be the proto primarchs mother . The sensei are tzeentch made heretics made to believe they are the emperor's spawns (according to inquisition)
Given everything we know about them, I'm partial to the Primarch Zero theory. Johnson's choice of moniker and heraldry for his chapter could well be the result of a genetic memory of his "elder brother" gained from the Emperor himself. Or possibly the result of unintended psychic influence from the Emperor, either during his creation, or at the events of his reunion and the founding of his chapter. A sort of unconscious wish to have seen The Angel take that sort of step along the path of carrying out his father's campaign... Think of it like a father who can't help thinking of his deceased elder child while watching his younger child graduate, or get married. In the case of a psyker on the power level of the Emperor, such a combination of a painful loss and witnessing the first triumphs of another of his children could create some pretty powerful and subtle ripples in the local psychic "landscape".

What if the Angel is linked to the Terminus Decree? What if it isn’t supposed to kill the emperor, but rather to reawaken the Angel? A purifying force at the darkest, Final point in which humanity may need it most.
"The Angel" is actually the "Doom Slayer" from the Doom franchise. 1. If there is a demon/daemon anywhere within his sensing range, he is going to bee-line it for that demon to kill it as brutally as he can 2. his desire for killing demons is so strong, he causes more damage than he fixes. Like The Angel wiping out populations due to RISKING demon corruption, compared to Doom Slayer completely and utterly destroying a galactic energy network, probably killing billions, because it was connected to the demons of hell/the warp. And its repeatedly humans opening up Hell portals/Warp rifts, not the daemons. 3. the only known way to stop him is to trap him in some kind of warded coffin, using a demon/daemon as bait. 4. The Doom Slayer was said to have been "blessed" by the "Seraphim" which granted him enhanced strength, speed, and durability. It also allowed him to enter Hell "as only demons had done before". Seraphim is just a title the Emperor went by before he became the Emperor. And the description closely mirrors that of a Living Saint. He probably just doesnt glow gold / have wings yet due to the Emperor himself not being that powerful yet. 5. The Doom Slayer's armor basically is an anathema to the demons of hell. Despite having been made by a demon that was said to have "been loyal to its evil cause" even when making it. Aka. It tryed to make the armor drain the Doom Slayer's soul, but instead the reverse happened. 6. The events of Doom (2016) actually lay the seeds that would grow into the later Mechanicum. The UAC made Mars into the technological hub of humanity's galactic empire. Dr. Hayden himself is pretty much the pinnacle of what tech-priests seek to become. And the later levels of Doom (2016) also set up a later conflict between Dr. Hayden and the A.I. he created, laying the foundation for the cybernetic revolt.
even if there may never be a a mother-bitchen crossover video game centered around that theory. then someone MUST write a kick-ass holy mother of badassatude fanfiction
Here's the thing though 1. doomslayer actually likes mankind sure he ain't going to go save a few people but that's only because hells LITTERLY INVADING so he wouldn't actually want to kill everyone on the planet for simply, possible, maybe, opening a portal to hell. 2. he also was taught in another dimension with beings that are pretty much gods in their own right and they later became batteries themself. 3. The slayer is human size not what ever size the angel would be so that's out of the question, 4. Yes the energy network might have worked but the slayer is BILLIONS OF YEARS OLD he is literally older then emperor because he came from an entirely different dimension and most of that time was fighting the demons he understood hell better then pretty much anyone else besides dagon who is the CREATOR OF THE MULTIVERSE. 5. The slayer is still technically human but with some of the creators own blood rushing through him also the A.I. is actually the father and Samuel is the seraphim 6. Yes I do know at the time none of this was known really but now we do and I wanted to see if you even remember this post or not also just wanted to add my two cents in here
It would stand to reason that "The Angel" could infact be both the emperors first attempt at a primarch And a prototype living Saint at the same time. If the Emperor spent thousands of years in the warp and got a lot of his power there by in someway interacting with the chaos gods, It wouldn't be to farfetched to theorise that the Emperors first attempt at a superior beinging to help him rule over his new imperium would be a greater daemon formed from his own psychic powers in much the same way that the chaos gods create theirs. A Greater Daemon of Anathema if you like. This would make logical sense too as to it's ultimate failure and lead to the creation of the Primarchs. Big E uses his new found warp powers to create a living embodiment of his will to bring order and destroy chaos completely>Angel boy eventually comes to the conclusion that men are a major battery pack for chaos>Angel who is not a human and has no reason to love flawed humanity decides best way to achieve the drive that makes up his entire existence is to purge walking chaos battery packs from the universe one planet at a time and gets to genociding> Big E is unable to control his psychic creation because despite being a crazy powerful psychic he is still technically a material being and has range limit on his signal> Big E locks his first Daemon away and realises that his next attempt should probably be of the Material realm and human so it has more skin in the game and so creates his new fleshy sons to help him rule his fleshy empire and calls them Primarchs. This would also explain Angel boy's similarities to living saints at the same time.
I thought this video was going to be about that thing found during the Cursed Founding, but this was way more interesting. I've never even heard of this guy, is there more to his story?
One thing that is important to note is that when the warp tear was created by the chaos gods it had direct affects on each of the primarch's. This is noted in a conversation between Mortarion and Malcador when Malcador reflects on the "venom" within Mortarion that changed him so much from the emperors true intention.
I think the Angel was more than a mere prototype. I think Big E attempted to, for a lack of a better term, groom a single heir. That didn't work out and that forced Him to "disperse" the power in multiple beings. The similarities between certain Primarchs and the Angels could be explained by regressive genes, after all only a few sported striking similarities. On the Living Saints: I think Big E used the Angel as base to shape them, which is why they are similar. Both are of course speculation, hard to say whether or not they are true
He's the primarch of the grey knights. Psychic, holy, angelic features, the purifying flame of their weapons, close and special connection to the Emperor.
the angel of death in the bible is the one who carries the flaming sword at the gates of Eden; that type of angel were also known as cherubim, and had wings, and were depicted on the Ark of the Covenant, the one the Nazis opened in that Indiana Jones movie that ended badly for them; this idea of cherubim being cute cuddly babies in diapers isn't at all how they were described in the bible
The angelic appearance of some beings and their ability to set swords on fire in 40K isn't a genetic trait but rather a manifestation of the Emperors pure physic power being channeled through them. Anything that is truly dedicated to the Emperor and so becomes a vessel for this power can develop these traits in the same way that individuals dedicated to the various Chaos gods can develop traits synonymous with those Gods. I do like the idea though that the Angel created before the Primarchs is a proto Primarch though.
So how long until we see a home brew of marines driveled from the angel's gene seed who proved too zealous to handle by the radical inquisitors who created them?
Or better yet, since April Taranis was kind of depicted as the pseudo-Primarch of the Thunder Warrior's, why not have The Angel be a sort of Primarch of the Custodes, it could fit rather well.
If the angel is a prototype Primarch, there is a very easy way to verify this, get the casket from the Inquisition and take it to a remote planet and have Gulliman open it. If he recognizes it as a brother we know its a primarch. But then again from what i can read about it, The Angel is basically the Warhammer 40k version of Broly. So i wonder if even Gulliman could defeat it.. well not unless the fusion dance suddenly exists in 40k.

is it just me? I see some serious resemblance between this Angel to Sanguinius. Sanguinius seems to be more "stable" version of this Angel, and Angel's genocide could potentially be "prototype" Red Thirst or Black Rage. Perhaps Emperor's favoritism towards Sanguinius stemmed from such semblence?
quite possibly. It seems that the primarchs are extremely watered down versions of the angel in terms of power. Horus pretty much got erased by the emperor, yet the angel had to be lured & sealed away. The angel was most likely created in the emperor's liking aswell wich could explain why he couldn't be outright killed on the spot.
What if the primachs, are shards of the angle and they share both physical and psychological elements of it? That would explain why The Lion chose the insignia, sangurneous getting its wing, Horus acting’s like it and becoming the “favored son”. Also the emperor probably add more ‘standard’ human dna to give them more personalities akin for their creation roles? Angron's rage isn’t the Emperor's handiwork, that comes from the Butcher's Nails. The only real character traits we have regarding Angron is he was loyal to the guys the Emperor left behind to die at the hands of slavers and he resented the Emperor for not letting him die with them.

Fulgrim was preoccupied with art, Kurze with justice, magnus with knowledge and the mind, logar with the soul, perturabo in contrast to dorn who designed for pure functionality also designed thing of great beauty(very few of which he ever got a chance to build) agron and mortarion were both motivated by their personal hatred of the emperor, and Horus by his hidden feeling of inadequacy. the loyalist seemed by and large content to do what they were designed for and untroubled by the big questions.
Another possible candidate would be the Commander of the Thunder Warriors; prototypes to the Adeptus Astartes during the Terran/Solar Unification Wars. It'd make sense that their leader could have been the earliest-known example of a Primarch... unless the Angel WAS their leader.

Just found out the Angel got released by the Inquisition at one point. They managed to recapture it using the same method the emperor used which.... is dumb that it would fall for it again. Anyways, here's to hoping the Inquisition, not being happy enough with one pet "chapter" of astartes, in the form of the Grey Knights, doesn't ever try to create Legio Zero: Sons of the Angel
Huh. Thought it would be Arik Taranis, given the whole Thunder Warriors being prototype Space Marines and him having an aura noted to be distinctly like the Primarchs.
I knew nothing of The Angel, until now. That's so awesome. I've been working on my own Primarch 0. It only makes sense for the Emperor to create a Proto-type.
I had a similar idea for my current RPG campaign. Mostly I just wanted a backstory to explain why I keep my Broly figurine next to my 3rd party Emperor miniature. The alpha and beta tests. The alpha being a pre primarch attempt by the Emperor to make a clone of himself to act as an agent. Physically similar but psychically weaker. The alpha was strong-minded and fleed from the Emperor to pursue its own ideas on how to protect humanity. It is the sire of the Sensei. The beta was the prototype primarch. Created to test the techniques for the production run. It was a much more unstable entity being made from four daemons fused together and inverted by the Emperor rather than created from raw Warp stuff. Its unstable existence caused it to fall into the Warp and is why the Emperor took extra precautions to prevent the loss of the production primarchs.
Every time I think I’ve pinned down which chapter of space marines I’d like to play, I hear some wonderful lore that pulls me in another direction. My wallet can’t handle it.

There is no place for those in the Imperium who doubt the Emperor. Prepare to die HERETIC *[BLAM]*

Malchador. Is the human aspect of big e?
"The emperor reduced their power to make the primarchs more controllable"... Yup! That worked out perfectly Emps.
I am getting wing zero vibes here...

Alternatively The Angel could be the Emperor's only naturally sired blood offspring, which raises the question who could his mother have been.
no his offspring are the sensei

"The Angel" is actually the "Doom Slayer" from the Doom franchise.
1. If there is a demon/daemon anywhere within his sensing range, he is going to bee-line it for that demon to kill it as brutally as he can
2. his desire for killing demons is so strong, he causes more damage than he fixes.
Not to shabby. Thx for the theory. Totally behind this one.

This is noted in a conversation between Mortarion and Malcador when Malcador reflects on the "venom" within Mortarion that changed him so much from the emperors true intention.
Guiliman was only one not effected.
Both are of course speculation, hard to say whether or not they are true

the angel of death in the bible is the one who carries the flaming sword at the gates of Eden; that type of angel were also known as cherubim, and had wings, and were depicted on the Ark of the Covenant, the one the Nazis opened in that Indiana Jones movie that ended badly for them; this idea of cherubim being cute cuddly babies in diapers isn't at all how they were described in the bible

Magnus- it’s Psychic strength-> golden throne anchor later to be the info head of the imperium
Vulcan - it’s compassion
Corvus - it’s angst
Corgi Boi- it’s lively ness and a way to easy more Tribal humanity in to the emporium
So on and so on.
So kinda lke Khaine or C'tan Shards?
Bob MiLaplace kinda yeah
Angron's rage isn’t the Emperor's handiwork, that comes from the Butcher's Nails.
The only real character traits we have regarding Angron is he was loyal to the guys the Emperor left behind to die at the hands of slavers and he resented the Emperor for not letting him die with them.
psychedashell that’s true, I forgot to mention that his rage i was commenting on was that displayed by his legion pre-butchers nails
@@Silver_Ash_ That's interesting, the same is said of the VI Legion before Russ came along, Russ actually leashed the Space Wolves with a culture of alcohol and hero worship. It's funny to find out Angron also got a Legion known for brutality but chose to make them worse with Butcher's Nails.
He was likely The Emporer's failed attempt at making a clone of himself.
So the emperor makes a prototype that fails miserably , yet he continues with his project none the less, and fails utterly. GENIUS.
He didn’t fail utterly, he went from utter failure to 50% success.
You only fail when you stop trying.
Anyone ever consider that the Emperor himself may have been a Primarch like weapon from the golden age? That would make subsequent creations like the Angel, Primarchs, Space Marine and Thunder Warriors that much easier.
It's established in lore that Emperor was born by souls of many prehistoric psyker Shamans joining into single "Super soul".
...i am aware. however what we are told in that regard might not be true. him being a creation of the golden age makes a whole lot more sense. just consider how the eldar also created their own gods.@@MareStiko
@@MareStiko Was the Star Child retconned?
@@nonyabisness6306 other than the fact we have the emperor sharing visions of his childhood with Ra during Master of Mankind, and we know that Olly met the emperor in ancient times
Doesn't want to be worshipped as a God. Creates essentially demi-gods as his sons. 🤔😒
So, after primarch version 1 failed we got version 2 and now that those primarchs are mostly gone, when might version 3 be released?
When the squats return, because he keeps down sizing.
Where’s Arik Tarranis
He'll get a video in future ;)
@@40KTheories but he's even more a candidate than the angel: there are references about Arik having the same aura as a primarch; and since he was the leader of the thunderwarriors, this is the same role a primarch would have to take.
@@theVulcanGuy I think Arik's case is the same as Valdor being taller than some Primarchs and beating them in combat, i.e. the random nature of any genetic engineering that is applied in bulk sometimes produces exceptional individuals.
@@theVulcanGuy It could work if we didn't know he was still alive and kicking, basically building "Super Thunder Warriors" on Terra
@@thechazz3230 interesting, only thing I knew is he had a band of thunderwarriors he was trying to cure with astartes organs and geneseed. Where does he build super thunderwarriors? This seems fun!
I was literally just thinking of this idea the other day. Excellent timing, and another Excellent Video!
I wonder how 40K would be different if the Primarchs hadn't been separated from the Emperor.
The whole point of 40K is that it is a nightmare galaxy, so surely something else would have gone wrong and everyone would be still living in a hellscape.
I like the living Saint idea! It even makes sense, I think it was in "the dreamer" bit of the gathering storm, where Celestine is in the warp, and she refers to herself as a project long abandoned? Will have to dig out the reference now, but maybe they were the emperor's plan before the primarchs?
The Primarch of the Thunder Warriors
That's possible since he is the Proto-Primarch and they are the Proto-space marine
suggestions:1. did the other loyalist primarchs know about the primaris marines? some of the crimson fist were said to have met dorn and the device krawl used has to be the same one corax retrieve from the emperor's lab. there can't be two considering what a big deal Emp made of it.
2.If it was possible to create space marine faster and easier, and corax proved it was, why didn't the emperor do it? only thought, he didn't want it to be too easy and humaity be replaced.
3. why didn't the emperor clone/recreate the two lost primachs and the badly damaged kurze and angron?
theory when he created the primarchs he actually put some of his own essence into them and either no longer had those parts of himself or would have been (further) weakened and a mere clone while strong and smart wouldn't have the otherworldly presence/charisma he also may have thought they'd be more vulnerable to chaos.
4. did the traitor primarchs fall because they where more human then the loyalist? Fulgrim was preoccupied with art, Kurze with justice, magnus with knowledge and the mind, logar with the soul, perturabo in contrast to dorn who designed for pure functionality also designed thing of great beauty(very few of which he ever got a chance to build) agron and mortarion were both motivated by their personal hatred of the emperor, and Horus by his hidden feeling of inadequacy. the loyalist seemed by and large content to do what they were designed for and untroubled by the big questions.
I think primarch zero is in the same place as primarchs 2&11.. As in, whatever was the issue with the prototype was also present in those primarchs.
I think it might be a good idea to ship that casket to the eye of terror and have it open right before it gets there.
What could go wrong?
Hahahaha I always said this about the angels casket!
Slannesh or tzenntch would what could go wrong khorne would just try to fight it and nurgle would just be the one killed
Another possible candidate would be the Commander of the Thunder Warriors; prototypes to the Adeptus Astartes during the Terran/Solar Unification Wars. It'd make sense that their leader could have been the earliest-known example of a Primarch... unless the Angel WAS their leader.
That's possible
Literally the only video about this subject. Like 99% of the 40k channel creators dont know that there was this proto-primarch. The true first primarch.
Siege of Terra. Open the coffin. Hide. Sit back and watch the fireworks...
eye of terror
It is possible that Sangquinius was modeled after the Angel. That would explain the Blood rage of the blood angels.
In DoA when the lion asked the 1st MS he see ‘who are you’ the SM said ‘I’m a dark angel’ so lion did not give them the name
Man the new intro is still giving me chills
when this video popped up, it made me think of IA and Arik Tarranis
Just found out the Angel got released by the Inquisition at one point. They managed to recapture it using the same method the emperor used which.... is dumb that it would fall for it again.
Anyways, here's to hoping the Inquisition, not being happy enough with one pet "chapter" of astartes, in the form of the Grey Knights, doesn't ever try to create Legio Zero: Sons of the Angel
“Improving a species takes much experimentation..... and failure.”
The Angel sounds super OP. I wonder if he’ll ever be woken up? Just in case he’s dead, I haven’t fully finished the video yet!
This is another great video about Alpharius
“No Angel! You can’t just destroy everyone on a world! Now excuse me, I need to do an exterminatus or two today.”
I must say I preferred the old intro music. The new one just clashes and sounds wierd.
But great vid as always
I always skip right over it 'cause it's so damn long, so I didn't even realize the change, especially since the end was basically the same. Lol.
Jacob Williams It has always been simple for me. Night Lords, or nothing.
Iron Hands wear black. Black is all the colors. [Wink]
Thousands sons are the best
Play Deathwatch. Then you can field them all!

"My *favored* son"? Hmmm...
He is the first so?
The Angel couldn't have been a living saint, since the Emperor wasn't worshipped at that time. The Primarch prototype theory fits better.
Kitten from TTS is the proto-primarch, 100%
Sly Marbo
Yes i am
Death of an angel?
I always imagine the emperor to have the voice of Don LaFontaine ;p
Sounds to me like this was one of the 2 angels of Baal that where combined to become Sanguinius. And this lends a lot of weight that the primarchs souls are that of minor warp gods.
