- Modelling an AWM Sniper Rifle in Blender | Tutorial Part 2 (Arijan)
Part 2 of a modelling tutorial series featuring the AWM / L115 sniper rifle. In this episode, we continue by adding more details onto the body of the rifle and focusing on hard surface modelling.
Dude, I'm so glad I found your channel. I've only been using blender for about half a year and I feel like I haven't gotten very far. I love tanks and so I wanted to learn to better model them and eventually learn to do tracks and track physics as part of a game I've wanted to make for a while now. The way you explain stuff is just superb and your models are just purely incredible as well. I plan to watch your tank modeling videos more and more till I get the hang of it and will be watching anything and everything else you put out so thanks and stay on it man!
This is the reason I started my channel, your comment means a lot. Do let me know if/when there's something specific you'd like to see. Thank you.
@@ArijanRace No problem and if possible could you model a helicopter? I haven't seen you make an air vehicle and I'd love to see you model a Blackhawk or a Huey, maybe even the Bell Kiowa. Again, much appreciated!
@@jakefromstatefarm674 I will consider that for the next project.
Thanks for this series. Some good old high poly modelling is needed to brush off from all the game ready stuff that is around these days. This is brilliant practice and I will make sure to try and prep it for game ready and texturing. Thanks for making me forget to not get lost in the details too soon.
One thing I can't recommend enough is the Machin3Tools and MeshMachin3. Tools is free, Mesh, not, but both contain insane shortcuts for modelling. Straightening edges, aligning edges/cursor etc, symmeterising models, and all sorts of short cuts are in there. I can't recommend them highly enough. Just a quick example of where Machin3Tools would be handy for you is when you're copying the screws. When you use his interface for setting the cursor, it aligns it with the face normal so when you copy the screw to it, the rotational alignment is already done for you.
Beautiful. Felt like watching bob ross
Thank you for these incredible tutorials, they really help us beginners. I've always tried to do rifles in general, but I never reached to make them good. Thanks to your tutorials, though, I managed to do an M4 by myself. If possible, could you also show how to texture the model?
That is a good idea for a video, thank you. I have had some requests for UV unwrapping so I might connect those two to this model, what do you think?
I am happy to hear you find the tutorial helpful, thanks for the comment.
@@ArijanRace Late reply but a UV unwrapping video would be awesome. Also a video on modeling a more complex rifle/SMG would be awesome. I love this tutorial series as an intermediate blender user who is trying to improve their hard surface, modeling, and topoly skills.
@@chrisdotdash5154 UV video is coming up soon. Thank you for the comment
just wanted to say that that tutorail is amazing but for a beginner like me is though . hope to finish it one day
Thank you, do let me know if there's anything specific you'd like me to make a tutorial on.
you are such an outstanding 3d modeler!
Incredible Tutorial!
These tutorials are legendary, exactly what I needed to develop my workflow.
Question: What does ripping do? Recalculate normals? I merged both loops by distance and the surface was smooth again. But I have no idea tbh.
Btw: any plans to put your ebook in video form on gumroad or smth? Wouldn't mind buying it but find videos a bit easier to learn from.
hello 1:56 you add cube but for some reason miror modifer doesn't affect yours while it affects mine can you tell me why. I will be very glad to hear.thanks anyway great tutorial👌👌
I have the same issue, and I would also like to know why. Perhaps you could try adding the cube in object mode, so that the mirror modifier doesn't affect it, however he defenitely added it in edit mode, so I have no clue why the mirror modifier isn't affecting his.
So I can learn blender on my potato laptop. Great tutorial :D
I only use a laptop meant for school and office work. You can definitely do a lot. Thank you
Great tutorial!
great work man
I am following this tutorial and so far so good but the part (12:00~ min) is kind of hard to follow. You tear and removed doubles and so on but I can't figure out how to to it properly so that my shading won't be back the shading it looked like before the step. Could you help me out here ? = The front face of the screw has those ugly shard lines to each vertex of the hexagon. TY!
great tuts for my level , ty
wiesław budzik is polish just to let you know :D
Can you do G3 and Desert Eagle please?
Please do ctrl+m and x for the screw mirror
is this suitable for game engines?
THANKSSS
What about N Gons at 23:00 bevel?

Any tutorial on uv Unwrapping,?
I could make a beginner tutorial about UV unwrapping. Is there anything specific you would like to see in it?
how do download refrence
And what is the point of making the main model with the correct topology? and the rest of the details are no longer important as topology (ngons or triangles)? I'm not catching up with something. If someone can clarify, I'd be grateful.
Late, but correct topology allows for bevels and loop cuts later on.
👍👍👍
wiesław budzik swój chłop xd
Как я заебался это с нуля делать, но всё равно доделаю
