I owned a 1988 F150 with a 302. It was a POS, not enough power for a half ton truck. I didn’t own it long, traded it for a F250 with a 460. That was a pickup that would do anything. Yeah, the MPG wasn’t great, but it got the job done. The 302 was OK in cars, but it wasn’t a satisfactory truck engine.
Too bad the electronics aren't. From the computers and sensors or the tail lights that choose to not work right when their is a cop behind you 😂😂😂 but the engine itself is solid.
The 2ZZ-GE is an amazing engine . I wish they got more love . I had a 2003 Matrix XRS with that engine . I loved it so much . I wish Toyota put it in more cars . The problem was their conservative customers didn’t get it . Most Americans don’t get these small high revving engines . Americans are used to torque, not revs.
Take note that's about a 60 + years old engine and to not to lump Volvo's other offerings into the same category of reliability, because they have produced a lot of crap.
@@VulcanAvenger of course they have made a lot of crap. But the B230f is superb! I've had several 300k miles plussers. But now I have 1985 volvo 244a with a B200K engine with 296000 KM (about 184k miles) on it. My father bought it 1998 and he gave it to me 2002 and I still have it stored. The whole car needs a full restoration but every time you start it up it runs like yesterday even with 10 years standing. It just wakes up anD yells "SIR,YES SIR!" But the body is a total disaster with rust!
They’re better and more reliable than coal power from the grid, which isn’t up to powering the amount of vehicles needed to move the population! It’s a great idea, until reality punches us in the face.
Chrysler slant six, leaning tower of power
Any top ten list without the two best overall, the Chrysler Slant Six in any size, plus Ford 300 inline 6!
Got a F-150 from 97 with 400,000 on it, thought it was a head gasket, but the block an heads had cracks, no complaints, it was a 4.2 liter V6
Ford 300 in line six
Not one British engine not good enough to make the list

My 3800 series impala is bomb prof
@@toddcook7759 gutless & oily POS 💩. The Ford 4.OL inline walks all over them.

324 000 on my 96 ranger 2.3. Still driven weekly hauling payload.
Thanks for the resources 😃

So much for the old school, the new plastic are only good for 20,000 k and it’s all planned that way
Lose the AI narration.
Awesome, but forget about ‘80s 1.6 Volkswagen diesel engines fitted in golfs 😊
Love John Goodman!
Man wtf are talking about, any engine you have to replace headgaskets or timing chains to keep them running is not reliable
We don't need to hear about obscure engines.
Packard in line eight
3.5 toyota lexus?
What about the Mercedes OM601-OM606 engines? Probably the best engines ever built!
Studebaker 259

I KNEW there was going to be a Volvo machine❤ they are the best! But i will be surprised if any BaguetteOven will participate in this show🤣🤣

Who..are you kidding..That blue V8 is a Ford 302 or Ford 351 garbage 🗑
They use a rotary oil pump & have got a faultless oil gallery setup... You GM boys WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND! 🙄
Yeah your dead right Windsor oiling system is great 289 302 rev all day Cleveland has it's problems but makes good power.
The Chevy man got it wrong.
@@pauldarderi3560 Just got to slap an external oil cooler on it (prevent bearings from burning up) and you can valve bounce them to oblivion! 👍
I guess Chevy guys just expect problems
