I'm just starting out and doing it for fun but planning on turning it into something profitable. I love taking something that most people don't find any use for any more and repurposing it. Thxs for the advice.👍
Looking to getting into flipping myself! I just want to say you have such a warm vibe. Thanks for sharing these tips, I wouldn't have thought of any of them before starting!
I see you didn’t mention a top coat. Do you use a top coat on the gray and white paint you mentioned ? If not, do you find that your furniture scuffs ? Thank you!
How do you search for items that have sold in your area? I've been trying to figure it out. I'd love to know what's trending color and item wise but have no clue how to find that out.
Ashley Blake thank you I just starting using other paints that aren’t expensive chalk paint. Can I also ask is the valspar perfect white flat or semi gloss paint.
I used to work at a secondhand store so all of the pieces that didn’t sell I could redo and they sold pretty fast. I tried out different things and watched some videos. But I just had fun and learned as I went. 😊
@@shanelpaige2152 you could try refinishing a nightstand, or a mirror? I would just wait until you find a project that is inexpensive and that you are excited about!
That’s what I did when I lived in an apartment two years ago they had garages I could rent so thats where I did my furniture. As long as you do enough furniture to counter that extra cost! 😊
Water based. Yes varnish yellows so I recommend a VERY light coat of clear wax for white paint. Or polycrylic as long as you have primed well and nothing will seep through the white.
Pret-Lu-Doll this replaces the part time job I had. I live in an area where I only make about $100 profit from each Dresser. But if you live in a bigger city you could charge more. I would say I make about $1000 on average a month. I see myself doing it long term just because I really enjoy it 😊
+Ashley Blake good on you 😀 you are really good at it and I enjoy your videos. I'm thinking about giving it a go. I live in the second biggest city in a small county - New Zealand 😀
no need to be an asshole to strangers on the internet. if you dont like her or appreciate what she has to say over your need to think about nothing but her looks then you should exit the video :)
Love this!! I’m starting to think about flipping furniture for profit but the best thing, I love doing it!

Thanks for the information! You're so kind 🙂 what websites are best to sell your furniture on besides fb marketplace when you're starting out?
You could try craigslist. I sell everything on marketplace now though.
Great! Can you show some pictures of the things you've refinished??👍🏻💗
I have a Instagram @ashleysanitquing or the last four videos I’ve uploaded have shown before and after 😊
Do you sand the dresser first?
Not unless I have to. 😊
@@DIYWITHASH I just took your advice and painted one and LOVED IT
What do you put on top of chalk paint? I’m wanting to paint a table and chair set! Thank you.
I use clear wax. 😊 good luck with your project!
This is great. Thank you!
Jess Mcneill thank you! ❤️
Wow this is great!
Briana Martin thank you!

Hi, what do you do after Christmas? Do you still sell during January and February?
do you use a sprayer or brush
I do both. I also use a small roller occasionally 😊
Ashley Blake thank you I just starting using other paints that aren’t expensive chalk paint. Can I also ask is the valspar perfect white flat or semi gloss paint.
I like to use semi gloss because it’s easier to clean.
I want to know how did you learn how to upcycle? Did you take classes? Self taught?
I used to work at a secondhand store so all of the pieces that didn’t sell I could redo and they sold pretty fast. I tried out different things and watched some videos. But I just had fun and learned as I went. 😊
I want to learn so badly. What do you suggest a beginner start with? Do you have a video for a small project for beginners?
@@shanelpaige2152 you could try refinishing a nightstand, or a mirror? I would just wait until you find a project that is inexpensive and that you are excited about!
Where are you purchasing these items specifically?
Thrift shops, Facebook marketplace
Hey I was wondering if you still sell your furniture in January and February? Do you find its slower during those months?
I have tried to research this very question. Cant sell anything this month (it’s December). What months sell best?
You are adorable. Thank you and Good Luck 🍀
Love this ❤️
Hey I leave in apartment and I don’t have room for holding the furniture do you think it’s a good idea to rent a small storage unit for the furniture?
That’s what I did when I lived in an apartment two years ago they had garages I could rent so thats where I did my furniture. As long as you do enough furniture to counter that extra cost! 😊
Ashley Blake ok thanks girl!
But u painted you furniture instead of it the storage units?
I painted both in my apartment and in the storage unit as well. Whatever was easiest at the time.
Ashley Blake k thanks
How can you tell what people are wanting to buy? On Facebook market?
do you sand furniture if your not using chalk paint?
No I don’t sand down furniture before painting
Is the white paint a water based product.. Or oil based.
What varnish do you recommend please. Some can make white paint appear yellow.
Water based. Yes varnish yellows so I recommend a VERY light coat of clear wax for white paint. Or polycrylic as long as you have primed well and nothing will seep through the white.
Hey, I know I’m late but if you refinish for someone how much do you charge?
I give them a quote by guessing how long it will take and then give them an hourly amount.
Hey! This is awesome. I feel like I have a few more questions for you, would love to connect.
Natalie Glozman thank you feel free to email me or dm me on Instagram!

She lowkey looks like Dove Cameron.
Those lips 💋 color matte scheme works for u and I'm only 40 seconds into the video
All I see is talking mouth b/c of lipstick. Can't hear words, can't help but think of how to fix this.
