I would say I relate more to the four. However, I do try to find the positive side to things and many people say that fours are not scared to face their emotions and I would say that is partly true for me. When it comes to intense negative emotions I do get scared to face them. I would also say I experience both types of FOMO. Sooo kinda confusing lol
Thanks for your thoughtful comment! Although they can look very different they also have so many similarities so I get the struggle to narrow it down. At the end of the day it's about that core motive and core fear. I used to be torn between a Seven and a Two, but when presented with the core fear and what would be worse, it became clear I was a Seven. So if you haven't already, thinking about what would be worse - being unfulfilled and unsatisfied (7) or being ordinary and insignificant (4)? I've also heard clients say that understanding their Stress Arrow was the thing that helped them determine their dominant type. So in this case, what most resonates - in stress you look like a 1 (where 7 goes) or a 2 (where 4 goes)? Ultimately, this typing journey is so important because even if you don't "figure" out your type today, it gives us questions to ask ourselves and reflect that we may have never thought about, allowing us to better understand who we are and why we do what we do! xoxo
Please could you give your opinion on whether Quentin Crisp was a core 7 with a huge 4 heart fix, or a core 4 with a huge 7 head fix? It is very apparent from some interviews about how he lived that he was self preservation last, which is very rare on top of an already less common type structure, which I guess is why he seems so "extreme" compared to most people who have 4 with 7 or 7 with 4. He is an inspiration to me but very confusing to Enneagram type.
As a fellow 7, I feel you on going into that 5 arrow sometimes! People tend to assume that all 7s are outgoing, bubbly and wanting to be around people but the more we can grow, the more comfortable we are with (and enjoyable it can be) being alone and slowing down. Sevens are the only type with no connection (arrow or wing) to a Heart type so allowing ourselves to feel feelings and then express them can be difficult and some of the most powerful growth us 7s do 💞

Im definitely a type 4 but as an extrovert enfp it is hard to know
Exactly - 4s can be extroverted too! Just like 7s can be introverted.
Same.
