Your office looks relaxing. Now you can look out the window and see all of God's little critters. 😊 the space looks great and functional. Enjoyed the video.
I love the new location for the desk! 💜 It’s nice that you can admit to not liking something (decluttering) but that you know it’s necessary. I feel the same way! ☺️
You need a pretty box for your keepsakes. That way they have a special place but that is a little decorative and not in your desk where you should be storing supplies. If they're special give them a special and pretty place to store them. ❤️
You might check your manuals (or look up your electronic on line) to see what the item is used for. There are times we are so excited about a purchase that we forget to see all that the item can do. I usually keep unused parts in the original box and store them elsewhere so that I don't have to keep cleaning or moving them around. When done with the item the whole thing gets sold, donated, or trashed as one. Having your desk in front of the window sounds heavenly.
Great job Karen! I never know what to do with the leftover bits from computers and such. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I think the room looks great with the new color. I LOVE the dress! I prefer dresses in the summer, much cooler option I think. ❤❤❤ Have a blessed week dear friend!
Oh Karen! I am so happy you decided to put the office in front of the window! I am one of those who suggested to you the idea! The view is fantastic! Just yesterday, on a whim, I cleared out my bedside table drawer and only placed back in it the things I use daily and weekly! The other items I placed in a clear container with a lid and will store in another place. 😊 ❤
Helpful hint...I used to be a note and list maker and now i use an app called cozi for my planner as well as my lists 🙌 little notes for ghe day go on that days notes or ill put it directly on the day i need it as i go...for instance video ideas forva specific video go on the planner side notes for the day its due...grocery list items go on the day im going to that store 😅 life's changing...no more crazy papers flying around 🙌
When I need dividers or sectioning on unusual size drawers I get foam core board at Dollar Tree and cut rectangle sections and tape them (I use strapping tape) into a box shape to create custom dividers. A ruler and exacto knife and tape are all I need. I bet one sheet ($1.25) would do all your office drawer needs.
The desk looks great in front of the window and so organised. Now you’ll get to enjoy a nice view whilst you are thinking what to write in your journals. I know how satisfying it feels to have a room just how you want it and I agree completing the cycle really helps achieve that goal. The room looks so fresh with that new coat of paint too.
Instead of buying drawer dividers. Try cutting down cereal boxes. Or other boxes from around your house. I'm also very interested in learning about Optivia. Love your channel. Thanks.
Maybe create a box for yourself in the basement for your old prayer journals and keepsake cards. I also have too many washi tapes 😀 You've spurred me on to look at them and whittle them down again 👍🏻
For all of those little wipes, if you can put them in a container, they will be kept together instead of making a mess of the entire drawer. It will help keep it tidy in the long run.
good job! . my struggle is books, i keep buying then i dont finish it. and money is tight. so i told myself no more books! for now. i did get 1 credit card paid off. 2 more to go. so what was last month card i paid is now added to next card. i will get there. :) and i know its on going. but sometime we need a break to see the light. :) 🙏🙏🐈🐈🌻🌻🌿🌿🥤🥤
@@JaniceIsLearning yes, right on the next block, but they dont always have what i like. but they seem to like what i donate, its always gone when i go there. :)
Such a wonderful place to work! I will be slowly catching up on my cleaning zones, since getting the garden started took so much time. The nice thing about the zone system is that it works if you miss, one can easily jump back in if you just keep it picked up, and keep up with dishes and laundry. You look beautiful in that pretty blue top.
Please come and tidy my art room! I want it to look like your office. 😭😭😭😭 You have motivated me, but I need to play your video on repeat so I don't become lazy again haha. (it hurt my heart when you decluttered the bits of coloured paper, the washi tapes and stickers haha). Tomorrow I am starting my new project: Take Back My House (from the clutter and dust haha). :) Hugs to cutie pie Leo (and Woozi) xx
I love how you keep saying complete the cycle. I always forget to do that so I think when I make my declutter folder that will be one of the steps I put in bold letters.
I'm not sure if you usually insure your homes over there or what type of insurance you may have but, if by any chance it's like the one I've got here ( it's not extremely expensive nor fancy) my home insurance has a service that recovers info from damaged hard drives and if it's too destroyed they take care of 'trashing' it safely. They also pick it up and send it back for free. It's good to have a good look at the insurances one has sometimes they cover services one doesn't even imagine. Or perhaps the stores where you bought it or the brand. 😉
Most of the little gadgets and electronics extras probably fall into the category of “if I needed this would it ever occur to me that I already had one?” (to quote Dana K White) or things that could be used but you’re managing just fine without them. There are definitely exceptions so probably good to go through that stuff but it’s unlikely to be a tragedy if something gets tossed. I keep a small box of random bits and bobs that might be the exact whozeewhatsit I’m looking for, but I need to keep the box small and in a designated place so I know where to look. 99% of the stuff never gets used though.
Hi Karen, Suggestion...lay your washi tape on its side in your drawer so you can see them. Stack them side by side from front to back so they don't roll everywhere!
I can tell your “minimalist heart” has a love-hate relationship with too much office supply inventory and it always will and no amount of little containers to organize it will change that because it’s visual clutter and minutia to manage. Too many journals, stickers and washy tape and the cricket saying “use me, use me” it’s all giving you unnecessary stress. I use to love to make lists, but didn’t use them so I came up with the acronym S.W.I.C.O. which means self-care, washing (meaning anything that needs to be cleaned including clothes, dishes, floors, etc), ironing (which included folding, ironing and putting away laundry), cooking (includes food shopping) and organizing (which includes straightening and resetting the house). Now during my morning routine I don’t use a list for the daily routine I think of SWICO and look at what needs to be done in those areas. For other things like appts or jobs that I do to prepare for guests, I use a small spiral binder. I loved all the cute things for office supplies, but feel so free since I stopped storing and buying them. I also thought I needed to make memory scrapbooks, had all the supplies but realized I just hated doing It and realized they would end up as just another thing for my children to own and store someday. I did my life story on “StoryWorth” and it is made into a book so my posterity can know me through that rather than many journals. If you love all that stuff, by all means keep it up, but if deep down you’d rather be taking a walk in your beautiful woods give yourself permission to set yourself free. 💖
I LOVE this dress on you! You look great, I have loved watching you transform on your weight loss and decluttering journey!

Love how the swap of the desk and sofa look and the decluttering made a big difference!

Do you have any Little Free Libraries near you? Read a book, then exchange it at a LFL. No cost to you, yet you get a different book to read.
You will get there!! 🙌
