"I don't feel good when I wear it." You hit the nail on the head. It sounds so simple, yet decluttering clothing can be so hard, so complicated. I'm going to use that key question, "Do I feel good wearing it?" when I go through my wardrobe from now on. It doesn't matter how much I paid for an item or if it was a gift or how in style it may be, or what it looks like on other people. It has to work for me or it's gone!
Just happened upon you ladies! !My mom's been gone 31 years - I still have her old pink and green plastic rollers and hot rollers too! I love you mom but I might have to stop being so sentimental and let them go - ouch! Love you and miss you mom! Thanks ladies - it's so nice to see a mother and daughter working together.
Also,I really enjoy when the both of you are on together! It reminds me of my daughter and myself! She is in her 30’s, married with two children. I am in my 60’s, married with an empty nest. But I have stuff from over time that I have collected! I have been trying to, little by little, work at it! My daughter is not a keeper and doesn’t like to keep stuff the way I have.😂Your videos are an encouragement to me.
This is what really helps me. I see so many videos sped up with music and it doesn’t help me when I am doing my own decluttering. I am finding I skip those sped up videos now.
Hot rollers!!! Why didn't I ever think to declutter those??? I think we get it into our heads that certain items are staples and don't even realize that we haven't used them in decades and that we don't need them. Thank you for the motivation to declutter my bathroom closet!
Hi Shannon! I just want to tell a story that happened with me earlier this week. :) The last few weeks I started to declutter. I collected everything to a quite big IKEA box. I didn't really think of what I will do these things after I put everything to the box, I just knew I didn't need them anymore. It was a really good advice from you! This way is much faster for me. So I collected things to the box and this Monday the box was full and I decided that I will put out the box to the street in front of the house. I only put out a few things and if there was some space I brought out more. That's my way of getting rid of stuff XD. The truth is I like the see sometimes from the window who likes my stuff and take them. For example a family with a little girl stopped and they liked my old earrings (they were shiny). I think the earrings were little treasures for the little girl. So cute! On Wednesday I put out a few clothes which were in good condition but I didn't wear them for ages. At one point the whole box disappeared! Somebody must really liked everything! XD I liked it a lot but now I need a new box to put out to the street again. The funny thing is this way people take everything, like broken bowls, old pots and pans, old mugs. I usually watch or just listen your videos when I am cleaning , organizing or decluttering! Thank you for your work! Love from London, UK!
That is awesome! Thank you for sharing your story. Especially for a place that gets a lot of foot traffic this is such a great idea =) The best part is getting to see people enjoy your things!
I would LOVE a live stream with you AND your mom. Videos with your mom are my favorite. Your relationship is so heart warming and she always makes me laugh.
Hi Shannon amd Cathy, from Australia. Since I last commented I've got rid of TWO more garbage bags of clothes. I'm updating the bedroom furniture, moved out a huge wardrobe and chest, replacing with a much smaller dresser and tallboy. We had mould in that room and the furniture has got a bit musty. The new furniture is much easier to clean behind. And it will all match, its my 50th birthday present to myself. Hubby and I have a big bag each of clothes that are in the "waiting room", i will go throigh those again when we have time. Hubby just finished cleaning out his mother's huge house so his decluttering muscles are getting so good, which is amazing considering they're a family of hoarders. It really is all about letting go!
LOL! 😅 Those hair items… the bonnet hair dryer, hot rollers with pins, Velcro rollers, heavy hand hair dryer with attachments, and 2 large aluminum cans (to straighten longer hair)! All gone. What a relief! All replaced with a portable hand dryer and a flat iron. It is so wonderful to see your Mom! She is so comfortable and a total natural in front of the camera. So relatable. Love her and your channel. 👍🏻❤️
This was super helpful! It helps motivate me little by little. My mom passed away last September and I have to go through her things and it’s been so hard. This also helps me to go through every part of my house, little by little!
I wish my mom and I had this kind of relationship. She wants to keep everything, even things that make her sad or don't make her feel good. I've been on a decluttering journey but I wish I could talk to my mom about decluttering.
Love your videos but love them even more when your Mom is appearing. Lost my Mom just over a year ago. Your Mom is so much like her from hairstyle to clothing style. So much fun to watch you two together!
This video is rich with truth! Look and see what is in there. How do you feel when you wear it ? How long since you’ve used it? I don’t want to fill my drawers with things I’m not going to wear. Make room for what you use. Thanks to you both , Shannon and Cathy !
The favorite-just-in-case-busted-zipper purse got me once or twice too. Learned that lesson eventually. I ended up with a Baggalinni also for this round. All the zipper pouches are awesome. Love watching your mom and you work on projects together. A live stream would be cool! Just make sure you give us lots of notice so we know when to tune in. 😊
I LOVE Baggallini purses! I got one last year and it’s my favourite purse of all time. Light, sturdy, machine washable. Amazing purse design. Great idea about the why of decluttering.
I love watching you two together! In your “crockpot video” (that’s what I call it), you helped me let go of my crockpot! My daughter was so happy! We gave it away and are now by group and the lady who took it was so blessed by it. That made us so happy.
I kept my mom's pink, plastic curlers FAR beyond the reasonable time to pitch them. I guess they were so "her" that I became blind to the fact that NO ONE was ever going to use them again. Sometimes time helps with perspective.
It would be fun to do a live and have your viewers bring their items to declutter. Everyone could record their numbers and we could try to reach a goal, 1000, 10,000, etc…
76.8 Aw. I remember how excited you were when you got that purse. Goodbye purse. Thank you for many years of service. 🥰 Hopefully the sting of parting is easing.
I got tangled up in rollers. Cut my hair a couple of days ago - got sick of tangles. Did an oil treatment & no tangles since. I still have my mothers metal rollers.
Woooooo! Be careful or you'll talk your mom into keeping that black and whit blouse. As Ive gotten older I realize that plain colors - not too many patterns or flowers for me. Flowers - no - they make me more Grammi than I am and I dont feel like a Grammi inside!! Have a great day nice ladies!!
Livestream! I can’t wait for the giggles to come! Cathy, you have really strengthening those decluttering muscles. And yes, I had the hot rollers. Gave them away ten years ago.
I have hot rollers that I haven’t used in over 10 years 😅 I’m decluttering those now 🎉 thank you so much for the motivation and I would love for y’all to do a live stream, that would be so much fun.
Last month I threw out two of my once-upon-a-time-favorite purses (and one WTF-why-is-it-still-here one). They just died from age and overworking. But I salvaged metal rings, magnet clasps, good zippers and even lining pieces to utilize them in upcoming sewing projects. But I couldn't throw out my small backpack, it's totally worn out, but its size is ok and whole lining and inner pockets are like new, so I decided ro remake it using old (really heavy-duty) jeans and original lining, zippers and rings.
I kept one of my baggalini purses forever hoping it would fix it self 😂 The strap complety broke, I finally threw it away. I think a lot of stuff we have is something that needs to be fixed but not sure how or we just never do it. Let it go right😊
When it comes to curling hair, a curling iron is easier and takes up less space. 😉👍 Speaking of, I think I might toss my old rollers. 😉 I can sympathize about the favorite purse. As I have gotten older, I prefer the lighter weight purses now. The old favorite purse was sooo heavy. I am soooooo understanding of everything you have just said in this video. Your videos are very relatable. 🙂🌹
I would love to see the past photo of your hair style that required all those rollers. Don’t worry I lived during the time of perms, totally know where you are coming from. 😜
I personally don't like livestreams & skip them even when they're my favourite utubers. I just wait for the next video. My opinion only. I know lots of people like them.😊
I can’t believe your letting your baggallini go 😢your favorite!! Glad you were able to find another one 😍 I’m glad your mom joins you sometimes it’s great to see her as well ❤
Yes to the livestream! Also would love to see where things are going. That is always my sticking point, I hate adding clothes to landfill, and I always want my item to go to a place where it is needed. So sometimes I just keep it rather than throw it in the garbage.
I love when your mom is on. You guys are so fun together.
Me too!
totally agree :) they are so lovely together :)

It's hard to let some things go. I can relate to that. =)
Thanks for sharing this. It’s like sitting with good friends over tea. ☕️ 🫖🇨🇦😊

Great idea to share monthly the WHY behind the decluttering. ❤
This is what really helps me. I see so many videos sped up with music and it doesn’t help me when I am doing my own decluttering. I am finding I skip those sped up videos now.
Thats so true...its not me anymore!

You two are such a Dynamic Duo!
Thanks for the decluttering motivation!💪🏻
Thank you!
Oh my...lol..my grandmother would use pink foam rollers that had a piece that folded over and locked in place...

That's a lot of rollers. 😃. Very fun as usual. Never a disappointment.
Ha! I have hot rollers (new, not vintage) that I still use. I just need to declutter the collection of curling irons! Love when your Mom pops in!
So much fun to see your mom coming to her own decision to declutter! That is inspiring !
Live stream sounds really fun.
Yes, I would love a live stream
Love your videos but love them even more when your Mom is appearing. Lost my Mom just over a year ago. Your Mom is so much like her from hairstyle to clothing style. So much fun to watch you two together!
Twice the fun and content having you lovely mom, Kathy with you!
I still use hot rollers ……… what does everyone else use instead ? LOVE mum and daughter together 😂🥰
Love it when you talk things through with your mother much more than voiceover videos. Inspiring me to declutter!!
Fantastic video always something that needs to be gone
You mom steals the show every time 🤩
Love declutters!

Such a lovely video, the journey your mom has been on is just amazing. Well done Cathy!!! Xx
And well done Shannon!! X
Thank you!
I LOVE Baggallini purses! I got one last year and it’s my favourite purse of all time. Light, sturdy, machine washable. Amazing purse design.
Great idea about the why of decluttering.
I used my spaghetti holder for straws. Keeps them clean and easy to dispense.
Yes to live stream. You two are so fun together!
Oh yes....I remember those hot rollers.....sure beat the ones I wore in my hair overnite!

Shannon, love love the format of this vlog! Please make more! Your mom is precious!
FYI- sometimes shoe repair places can also fix purses, luggage & belts.
I kept my mom's pink, plastic curlers FAR beyond the reasonable time to pitch them. I guess they were so "her" that I became blind to the fact that NO ONE was ever going to use them again. Sometimes time helps with perspective.
Yes, live stream! And always love the " bloopers"😂

Hi Alessandra, I remember using those rollers as a teenager lol.
I love watching you two together! I end up laughing, at one point or another, in every video you post! You're a panic! 😅🤣😂
