Fyi as someone shopping for a 3d scanner i couldnt care less about cables. All i care about is getting the best possible scanner for the widest possible use cases. If that means cables for a consumer priced scanner so be it.
Valid. As you get more familiar with 3d scanning you’ll find that being wired/wireless does affect the use case. There is always a compromise depending on which route you go depending on performance and portability. I agree it may not be on the top of your list of features but definitely not so trivial to exclude it as a talking point imo
Unable to use markers on fast mode is making me regret my vega purchase a bit. I still have to use my wired scanners for objects wirh fewer features. I really hope its something they can add in an update. The new software is easy, but withbreduced features. I wish i could open my scans in the same software I used with my Einstar scanner.
For sure! I think it’s good feedback to give to the Shining 3D team. I was told a lot of features will be added via software updates and marker scanning in fast mode would be ideal. I agree with the editing software, each of their scanners has its own. It would be convenient to have 1 software that recognizes which scanner is plugged in. I’m sure the community telling them what is important will have a big impact bc they have been pretty responsive in my experience.
@MrJofArnold yep! I've been impressed with their turnaround times. They just added 12mm markers for fast mode, too, which is good because it wasn't the best at picking up the 6mm markers from further away. I think the vega still has a bit of a dead zone between fast mode and HD mode that the original einstar scanner did better, but the mobility of the vega on larger stuff is making it worth pulling out to use.

Tough to take a laptop and cables to a gallery...
Exactly!!! I couldn't give less of a FUCK about cables. I WANT FUNCTIONALITY and QUALITY (and data privacy) at a consumer level price!
I wonder how it performs compared to the older Einstar scanner
❤Super cool device. So many uses. Nice reel.
It’s definitely a cool one!
I think the Revo Miraco Plus that uses scale bars and markers has an advantage
Nice! I’d be curious to do a side by side

They added this feature I see. Check their forums; they add user suggestions to the firmware and software pretty fast

Wait so this is compatible with IOS/Mac? I remember when the first Einstar came out it wouldn’t run on apple products
Yup! Both the OG EINSTAR and the Vega are Mac OS compatible
떡볶이? 만두? 한국사람인가봐요 ㅋㅋㅋ 너무 반갑네
🇰🇷💪🙂
3-2-1 alignment I hope is added a later date. That will be frustrating without it. In exstar it can be done still so just means using both softwares
Yes that would be a crucial feature. I was told that additional features will be released via software updates soon!
@@IMEEMADE nice. I have no doubt they'll improve it alot. I need to wait a month for the standard colour, can't wait to get my hands on it 👍

Swag indeed
