Love the videos sir! Was wondering if you could make a video on how you made your spine finder? Kind of like the one you made on your flo device. Or maybe give instructions on how to build one. Thanks and really have learned alot from your videos.
Great instructional videos, appreciate all you share. Question, you marked the 12 O' Clock on the spine alignment, but must have missed what its used for. Is that the alignment mark with the club head line?
I saw some golf shaft with adapter that can rotate on the club head to adjust parameter. So how to fine tune installation this shaft with rotated adapter ?
Explain please how spining and FLO go together. If I spine a club and then FLO it and end up with two different results, which one do I go with? And if FLO takes precedence, why spine the shaft at all? I like these videos.
New to club building, sorry if these are dumb questions. Do you spine the shaft just to get a starting position to flo? If not what are the benefits of finding the spine before you flo the shaft? Can you flo a shaft without finding the spine first? Thanks
How come sometime when you find the spine and test it with the head on , the head needs to be set a little closed for it to twang straight up and down and not how it sits in the regular playing position as it would on the ground? Any reason to do or am I doing something wrong
I have watched your videos over several times and pick up some good advise overtime really enjoy the way your build clubs a true craftsman. I do have a question and it may be a dumb one! What if the spine alignment mark is different from the flow alignment mark how do you align the club head on the shaft? Thank you for all you do to help the club building community have a wonderful week. -Paul
Scott, to flo you must twang in the direction of the jaws, (theres a HUGE tip) the jaws are held differently on each unit. The club scott is more stable as you get close to the tip of the shaft. The GW unit is great for building and give consistant readings. I just like the club scout for FLO and profiling if I need to do it. Thanks Jim
Question about your spine finder. That pvc coupler has one bearing in the front or is there one in the front and back? Will be making that soon! Thanks
When building a set of irons, are the shafts all the same length then trimmed down? Or is each iron shaft predetermined by length or weight? If I was gonna build my custom itons could I just go buy like 7 shafts for a 4 through Pw setup?
Read read read. Golfworks has an online course. I’d suggest that at least to get familiar with the processes and equipment. Then get some older clubs to work on
Great videos. Once you find the spine and put the line, if that line is 12 oclock, is the toe of the club head going to be pointing 12 oclock also? thanks
Hi there! I just bought an accra fx 260 for my driver. I m a lefty and wonder in what direction i should put the logo?? In a titleist 915... can not spine it yet.... Thanks for an answer😀
You never answered my question as to why Ben you find the right oscillation of the shaft and it goes straight up and down and you put the head on and twang it .. sometimes the head need to be very closed in order for it to oscillate straight up and down . What’s the reason behind that? Would really like to know the answer to it ... thank you
I think I have watched this video 10 times always pick up something new! What is the hair spray bottle for just curious I am sure its of great use. Thanks again Jim for all the great content.
Oh wow that is great to know! Who makes the clear grips you use I should bring a few in the shop? By the way you should see my new shop set up you would really see what a positive influence you have had on my as a club builder. I say it every time but do not think I could say it enough! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to put together all the great videos I really do appreciate everything you do and always look forward to the next one. Have a wondeful day hope to come thank you in person one day. -Paul
Paul Rhodes the group ironically is called clear grips. They have a cool selection of grips. But with super strokes and other the need has gone down but worth a look
this might be a "what's in my draw" question. so what affect does FLOing truth have on quality of strike, consistency of strike and overall feel of the club? I made a simple wedge this week and bought the cheapest components that money can buy. I might be bias in this statement but it is one of the most smooth and accurate clubs I have swung. I am not a world class builder. I know this as fact. What makes clubs feel so good on impact? I have tried irons and wedges of all brands at the big stores with simulators and they feel good but they should for 120 bucks a club. this feels awesome in the hand and on contact. better than the major brands. is it purely because I so tipped by four clubs? Am i getting the yardage? don't know would have to go to the simulator and find out. but for the feeling accuracy and gap I fill on my wedges I don't mind. Is it the fact we are using 24hr epoxy with shafting beads and machinal fit is more precise? this Wedge fells so much better than my RTX3 and I built it for 15 bucks. mind blown!! If FLOing and custom gluing is the answer I might have to dismantle all my clubs and FLO them assemble them back.
@@McGolf thank you for the reply! i am getting sucked in to the bug. My Son and Daughter's Boyfriend came over for Turkey Day (in there 20's). Both agreed the feel and butteriness of strike was addictive. My son could not put the club down for a hour straight. Shims are getting delivered later today. Driver, 3w, and 5w might be ready for Sunday. if I get half of what I got for performance and feel, life will be good. look forward monday "what's in my draw" hopeful I have a good story to share.
Actually they look like his club as it came out first. However it does have Titleist appearance at first glance. The bladed version makes for an awesome combo set.
Great videos. Looking to start building my own clubs and really enjoyed these.
Good video, can you help explain how you made the spine finder? You use idler bearing in hand and a couple in the pvc pipe?
Very informative- can you go over the “spine finding” process? Didn’t quite get that...is this related to the process of puring graphite shafts?
Love the videos sir! Was wondering if you could make a video on how you made your spine finder? Kind of like the one you made on your flo device. Or maybe give instructions on how to build one. Thanks and really have learned alot from your videos.
its on the list of videos
When you assembled these clubs, where did you line up the black line in relationship to the club face?
Great instructional videos, appreciate all you share. Question, you marked the 12 O' Clock on the spine alignment, but must have missed what its used for. Is that the alignment mark with the club head line?
I saw some golf shaft with adapter that can rotate on the club head to adjust parameter. So how to fine tune installation this shaft with rotated adapter ?
If you fine the best setting for the golfer and use the adapter to fine tune there will be no more need to adjust the club once it is completed.

How do you work out the swingweight from weighing the head shaft and grip
What I’d like to know is what equipment do you need to purchase in order to repair golf clubs
Where did you find the spine finder device you used? Love the content, very informative!!!!
The parts are on my amazon store. It is easy to make
Amazing, all the detail! Thank you for the video.

Ultimately the head is aligned to the FLO position the spine line just gets you close
after the shafts are spined , When you put the heads on where is the spine ? is the spine at 12 or 6 or facing the target or ?????
Why do you use a separate vise for FLO and not just use the vise on your frequency analyzer? ....just curious.... I love your videos!

Question about your spine finder. That pvc coupler has one bearing in the front or is there one in the front and back? Will be making that soon! Thanks
yes there is a bearing at both ends, and don't forget the third as an idler bearing to pull on the shafts.
Good luck
McGolf Custom Clubs ok thank you!
anytime
The is a bearing on both sides.
Where can I find a spine finder as you have?
When building a set of irons, are the shafts all the same length then trimmed down? Or is each iron shaft predetermined by length or weight? If I was gonna build my custom itons could I just go buy like 7 shafts for a 4 through Pw setup?
The shafts start out at the same length and are trimmed to the proper flex then trimmed to the proper length
What are the parts you used to build the spine tool? I haven't been able to find bearings
I bought these: 6205-2RS C3 Premium Sealed Ball Bearing 25x52x15mm
How would you recommend that someone get started building their own clubs?
Read read read. Golfworks has an online course. I’d suggest that at least to get familiar with the processes and equipment. Then get some older clubs to work on
@@McGolf any recommendations on reading material? I have been watching youtube.
Is Sst pure basically automated flo and is it really better or just a fancy way to make money?
Kenneth Fountain SST is a computerized way to balance the shaft. It still relies on the installer to be in correctly
Great videos. Once you find the spine and put the line, if that line is 12 oclock, is the toe of the club head going to be pointing 12 oclock also? thanks
yes
I haven't seen anything on weighting the clubs. Should there be a consistent difference between clubs? I think mine are 6 grams.
Martin Rugroden yes, head are about 7 gram shaft and gram should be consistent about plus or minus one
Awesome video!

Look at the butt of the shaft and locate the RED line. Place it at 12 Oclock.
Can you explain in more depth how you found the spine please.

Will the spineing and flowing work on a shaft that was already cut to length?
Yes it will, no worries
@@McGolf Thank you sir

its for installing the clear grips with labels under them, It does not eat the art work
McGolf Custom Clubs is it the same grip solvent you just spray it? Thanks for all the advise.
no it is really hair spray and it is slimy for just a few seconds then it evaps.

Maybe you should do a video on why a higher handicap player shouldn't use that clubhead considering you called it a players iron.
great idea
club looks like a mp5 and a 714/716 CB

I watch this whole series and you never did show how to build a spine finder.
