#l322 #landrover #rangerover
Was literally about to pay $1K to convert from air to coil struts on my L322 when I ran across this vid. IT WORKED!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU BRO!!!!!.
Incredible!! THANK YOU!! So easy and quick. Best day of the month hands down. Was stressed for weeks on end, as I had the air suspension motor and bags replaced under warranty, and had just gone through 3 'trusted, mechanics falsely diagnosing a leaking head gasket. 30 minutes and done. A days worth of driving and runs like the beauty I've always loved: RR 2011 5.0 supercharged
Do u have to drill half way thru or all tye way
My faults would come up at least 3-4x per drive. The 30 max one is super annoying. Plus couldn’t go into access or raise mode even tho the suspension is fine. Did this for my ‘08 supercharged 3 days ago and the faults haven’t come up since and all raise/lower modes flawless. Thank you so much! You should add a donate button cuz this was clutch.
Thank you! I do have a tips button. Unfortunately, youtube buries the button in the about section or a small icon on my channel banner. I appreciate you!
@@motoken got this! Checking it later. Much love from the Philippines bro👊🏼🙏🏼
So what do I do if I don’t have this even installed. Mine isn’t there. But I’m get suspension faults
Dude you're are awesome. I did the exact thing to my l322 2010. You saved me well over 3,0000 bucks. It worked for me perfectly. Thanks for sharing with your Range Rover family. I would also like to add that when you start the vehicle, turn steering wheel all the way left and all the way right. It will reset the fault message and raise your suspension without making the 30 minute drive to reset it . Thanks Again .
Much appreciated!
Spot on, I tried that earlier today and it came back on.
Wow! Ken Moto is the man! After almost half a year of research, you finally brought back my trust in this vehicle! No more suspension fault since 4 weeks!! Thank you so much! As well this is my third RR l322, so much joy to ride when they are working fine... 💯👋
I fucking love you bro! This works!! Unfortunately I ordered a new air compressor and relay yesterday, it might not be a bad idea to replace the compressor at 100k miles anyway. I brought my l322 to landrover and they quoted me over 2k to fix this issue, I spent 5 bucks on a drill bit, it doesn't get any better than that! You are awesome man! Here have a sub and a like👍!! If your ever in Montana i owe you a beer 🍻
Ken and Ben's garage just saved me from an anxiety attack! You guys are the BEST!!!
Wish I saw this video 8 months ago, after replacing height sensors and rear air bags at £800+ and didn't fix the issue of suspension fault - done this £0 modification and works perfect Thanks
I had my mechanic watch this video and follow exactly what you did. It resolved the suspension fault issue on a 2011 Range Rover Supercharged. Thank you for sharing 👍🏽🚙
Welllllll.... I now know the issue... The silencer/exhaust was super brittle... When I twisted it off, it broke off...leaving the screw part inside the hole... Now I need the part that he's trying not to buy... No other choice... I still found this video to be very helpful... UA-cam making me brave 😂🤣😂
Parts cleaner folks...works like a charm for those who can't drill or don't want to buy new
This video was simple and worked, thank you. I took the car to a shop and they charged me $1000 and did not fix shit. I did whats in the video and problem is gone. lesson learned!!
Same happened to me! $1000 and not fixed.
Good, Did you drill though both sides? Or just the 1 hole?? And when you put it in , how does it go in? I might try this. I bought a battery today and my back is all the way high, my front is all the way low and I kept hearing loud noisy, air coming from the from right , like air coming out. Not sure what to do
Ok so I tried this tonight and so far so good. For those of you that have a full size RR supercharged, the 13mm box end wrench is too small. I actually couldn't find any wrench or socket to fit it. The closest was a 5/8. It wants something between a 16mm and a 17mm to remove this muffler. After a couple hours of trying every wrench and ratchet in my garage, I said to heck with it and I drilled the hole in the muffler while it was still attached to the compressor. All that time for a 5 second fix. Wished I would have discovered this video a while back. Already out of $900 because driving even a short distance (less than a mile) under 10 mph, ruined a nice pair of Pirelli's on the rear of my vehicle as well as a $300 tow. The dog legs on bothsides of this SUV have sharp edges that will cut into your tire on the rear if driven with the rear bottomed out. I know some will be wowed by this but I was about to pay over 50k for a newer version. I absolutely love this suv! The airride on Pirelli's is amazing.😎
This saved me from weeks of a headache and keeping hundreds of dollars in my pocket.. great video and thanks
The 2020 Tony Award for “Most Money Saving Video” goes to Ken Moto. Worked perfectly
2012 L322 HSE - Suspension Fault message on dashboard - and was never able to switch to access height without it stopping and putting me back at normal height with the message about it detecting something in the way, and then one day recently the Suspension Fault message showed up also.
I unscrewed the copper filter piece on the air compressor under the spare tire and it was COMPLETLEY covered in green/blue corrosion. Tried part cleaner and baking soda/water mix and it helped but still has caked on corrosion. No air was getting in or out of this with the amount of corrosion. I decided to try to start the engine with the copper piece off and see if it still gave the error, which it did, tried the turning the wheel all the way right, then all the way left, then all the way right a couple times, didn't seem to change anything.. Ordered an iSoft v3 for Land Rovers (currently around $110 on Amazon!) that is being shipped to me this week so I can get a better idea of the exact air suspension issue, THEN went to test the car the next morning and it started without the "Suspension Fault" message AND I am able to go down to access height, normal height, and offroad without any issue. Maybe it needed some time to naturally do something to self-correct.
Since I am testing and have the lid off the air compressor compartment and the copper filter piece removed I can hear the amount of pressure of air coming out of where the copper piece goes and it must've really been struggling or not functioning with the amount of corrosion on the copper piece.
If this fix worked, it will have saved me a lot of $$ and I recommend anyone having "suspension fault" issues to try this first - I also ordered a new relay from Amazon that matches the L10 position in the fuse box in the trunk compartment, but will hold onto it as an extra. I'll drill the hole into the copper filter piece to match the ones that are orderable now with the hole already placed.
Thank you Man!
Great Video!
Just got this error tonight..
"SUSPENSION FAIL"
I know that Pneumatic part that you drilled a hole through..I've used them in many Pneumatic applications.. dirt cheap in the USA.. it's a 3/8 npt or a 9.5mm exhaust muffler..anyhow I was hoping you would test the system by lifting the vehicle and lowering the vehicle..but I'll do that myself tomorrow morning..
Thanks Again ..and Yes! I love my Range Rover Sport Supercharged ♥️
Wow! Awesome information and drilling the hole fixed my 2015 Range Rover sport. Thank you so much for the video! You are a blessing!
It’s a muffler. It’s there for noise abatement. If you can blow air through it it’s not clogged. It’s used in industrial pneumatic air distribution manifolds.
Mn you saved my life God bless you it's worked on my range rover vogue 2017
I need to try this then on mine
My wife just experienced this today. Thank you!!! The dealership always trys to burn a hole in our pocket.
Worked on my 2014 Range Rover Sport. Easy fix, thanks for the video!
I'm having the same issues but happens every so often. When it does the 30mph max I just need to restart the truck or cycle the ignition till the center light on the air suspension nob stays lit. If the doesnt come on and stays blank once I start to drive it will fault soon after driving. Crazy if I mess with the height it will leave the truck with uneven height n then it's a mission to get it back
How did you know it was the air compressor? Doesn't the suspension have airbags, lines and sensors, any of which )or several of which) could be causing the fault? What codes does the computer throw to narrow your repair to this one part?
This solved my fault problem on my 2006 full sized rover. 150 % works. Took me 1.5 hours. Take off and drill hole. THANK YOU saved me $60. OR $ 400 for a new unit!!!!!
thanks brah it worked. I been stressing all day over this
Anyone having an issue where suspension wont stay lowered? I have a 2006 and my rear keeps rising and my control knob doesn’t seem to work
Do u have to drill a whole the whole way thru or halfway
Hi. I had the same issue. But my compressor already had a hole in its filter. So I cleaned the filter and the compartment inside and around the air compressor and it seems to work now. So if anyone els has the same problem try just cleaning out the area because it can get clogged up after a wile.
Thanks for the info!
Thank you! My husband is going to follow your ideas. God bless you ❤️
arent u now leaving the inside of the compressor exposed w a big ol hole? hence why land rover uses a metal corse filter?
What is this valve for in the first place? And if there is a hole in it (the fix) what will this differ from removing the whole valve? Just screw it out and not put it back in place?
That part is an air muffler, you can buy them for less than 5 dollars from McMaster-Carr
Well it worked for 3 days, then today about 5 miles from home the suspension fell all the way down, and got a message saying, "Suspension is raising slowly", followed by; "suspension will lift when system has cooled". So I pulled over hoping it would raise but it never did. Now I'm hearing an air leak from the front passenger side wheel well.
Yes it does make it wobbly it hops like a low rider and it makes me feel like a trouble maker when it does that for some reason !! 😅
after removing the tips, i used carb cleaner to soak and clean it without drilling hole on it, it works perfectly.
Hey nice video bro but quick question what if my land rover doesn't the have the compressor where my spare tire is? My spare tire is under the car
Did you drill the hole all the way through or just one side Regards
I can't tell if you are drilling all the way through or just halfway. which one?
Only half way. Not thru
Ken, what was the actual name of the part? I just might buy one. Also, where would I be able to order it from? Thanks so much!
2008 RR HSE, Midnight Blue - absolute beauty.
@5:17 time stamp
We are having the same issue on our 2010. My husband is asking did you drill the hole completely through the part? If not, how far I to the part was thr hole drilled or does it even matter? Thanks!!!!
Its just drilled through on one side...not both sides.
Got it. Thank you.
Its a filter...they become clogged...parts cleaner soak and blow out works well
I just change the c
ompressor but mine want pump back up
My exhaust had a small arm which connects it to the compresor and as i was trying to loosen it up, it just fell off
(plastic broke)😞
any tips? like could I super glue it??
Firstly so glad I found the video.
I have a 2006 sport supercharged. Changes the front suspension last week. The error still keeps popping up time to time. The error comes on but I can drive, jeep does not lower. I can adjust the ride height while the error is on. Recycling the ignition works from time to time. It’s just annoying to have the error. Could this be the same issue ? Help !!!
its hard to say...the air suspension system has a lot of parts and what I showed on this video is just one part that could be broken...sometimes the pump itself could be the problem or the lines or the airbag on each of the strut..it is really hard to know for sure for each case.
@@motoken I do hear a hissing sound from time to time. But the ride height does not lower. Everything works fine except for the error. Thanks. I will keep checking.
You are a legend 👏🏾👏🏾 sorted that annoying message straight away. Was hella nervous about the drilling tho haha cheers mate
Did the fault return at all since replacing this little part?
I can’t seem to get the “exhaust” off the air compressor. I’m scared to mess something up, any tips on how to get that off easier? I tried the 13 mm wrench
Hi
My error reads "suspension will lift when system cooled"
Will this work after I drill a hole?
only a hole. not through.
Will this work if my error reads?
"Suspension will lift when system cooled"
I have a 2008 Supercharged similar to yours.
The suspension unit is exactly identical to yours
I'm praying that once I drill a hole.🙏 It will solve my issue?
@Bruce-xs4rj you could fix it but there is a chance that the compressor is needing replacement. My fix is just something to try before spending on a new compressor
Ok thank you.
I’m trying it this weekend. Wish me luck. Thanks!!
Did it work?
Hello my friend thanks for the N4,, I'm having thee exact same issue,, now tell me did the problem ever come back? Thanks for ur time. Tay
No more issue after this fix
Cool thanks buddy very appreciated, thank u for sharing 🙏
Did it fix the problem
The metal is sintered bronze
You mentioned the compressor exhaust fitting getting clogged… on my 06 RR Sport that part is NOT accessible from the trunk. In fact the assemblies I’ve seen other UA-camrs show are pretty different. Do you happen to know where it’s located and if it has that same breather/exhaust valve?
I cannot speak for the Sport as I have an HSE and for the HSE the compressor is under the spare tire.
Well I’m here cause I’m having same issues, I’m buying the tools tomorrow and this thing , I’ll update you later on , thanks for the video !!!!
My RR L322 (2002 Model) has a habit of losing Ride Height Control light after at 30MPH. It will remain unresponsive, even restarting won't help. Could this be the fix I need?
Would this work with a 2006 rrs?
Hey bro thanks 4 the video! Did the hole came from one side to the other, or just one side?
It's just one side
Hi there! Sorry if this has been answered/if this is a stupid question: how far did you drill into the part? About halfway through? TIA :)
it's just halfway. not through.
My front wouldn't lift, said lifting slowly. So I will try this. The compressor will run for 15 sec then shut off.
that might be an issue with the compressor itself and could be failing.
@@motoken it only does it when it's cold outside lol
@@motoken both front air struts were bad on mine so I had to fix those.
@@oSTYNCLSYo How much did that set you back? I am not sure if im having compressor issues or if its the actual suspension itself.
@@ABurk2 it was 500 bucks for all four bags and assembled front struts from Suncore. Check the bags by spraying soapy water on them and see if the air is leaking.
PLEASE HELP ME; I was quoted 2700 bucks for this same issue, however I own a 2009RR Sport, could this same method work? im desperate to have my baby fixed but would love to save money!
Dude your a life saver i was having these exact same problems and your suggestion works thanks alot god bless
Beautiful RR. I am also a fan of RR. Mine is a 2004 HSE. Thanks for the video☑
i got a 2003 Range Rover with a inactive air suspension on the dash and the lights are of on the regulator switch. was that the same with your case?
yes
after your fix it worked directly by itself? no need to reset it by a computer to make the system activate the air suspension.
@@motoken I have a 2004 range rover with the same issue and the dash light are off is this a separate issue from the compressor? Or it just to indicate the suspension is not working at all
Ay people just try to get you OBD2 little scanner tool which you could use it on your phone or laptop and check the codes by yourselves, i have l322 and i deal with air suspension system problems all by myself whether if it's sensor or valves etc.. trust me and save your pocket 🤟🙌
@@ابنالجزيره-ب8ط The problem is air suspension faults don't throw a code.
How to raise whit out key
I can’t seem to find that part on the web can u post a link plz sir thanks !
LR025940
Saved me a headache thanks a lot
I'm about to do this tomorrow hopefully it works I'm riding looking like I got a Range Rover low rider smh
Did it work for you?
@@imperialmusicgroupllc2347 Unc it's Dot I wrote that message 😂😂😂
Can this work on Land Rover Discovery 4, 2011? If anyone has done that, kindly guide me.
Well this work on a 2011 sport model
Mine doesn't pump tho..
Drilling a hole equates to removing it as it no longer acts as a filter. Simply wash it out in petroleum and it will be good for another 10 years. And at no cost !
Just found a 2008 L322 and it is experiencing Suspension Fault errors, Max 30 mph...and bags drop to bumpstops, air lock button doesn't work, etc. I'm going to try this fix. thanks.
I'm having the same issues but happens every so often. When it does the 30mph max I just need to restart the truck or cycle the ignition till the center light on the air suspension nob stays lit. If the doesnt come on and stays blank once I start to drive it will fault soon after driving. Crazy if I mess with the height it will leave the truck with uneven height n then it's a mission to get it back
@@BBop23 Just received bad news, one of the new (remanf.) front bags I installed is leaking. Adding insult to injury, I know have to decide whether to keep going or swap all bags for springs. CRAP!
It could be the height monitor sensors or one of the front Air Spring/Struts need replaced.
Did this work for you?
Thank you this help a lot #newadventures
Thank you !!! Worked perfectly
Should we unplug the battery
What’s the name of the part if we do wanna to spend that $60 bucks ?
5:17 time stamp
LR025940 - compressor silencer
pretty sure you want to buy the $60 part unless you don't plan on drving this more than couple years or want to replace the air compressor
I just copied how the part looks. Also, this was how mechanics remedied this issue. Although your compressor could still eventually give out, which is a separate issue.
Just remove and leave off.... Its an EXHAUST port.....
Awesome video!
Exhaust muffler is what that part it. Most times is the compressor thats the problem!
Great info - thanks!
Thanks a lot 👍
Nah this doing way too much the other way is easy I just can’t do it cause I can’t get them 3 screwed off
Instead of drilling the hole, just completely remove the exhaust nozzle, done!! The vehicle can now fart with no problem.
I think It needs it
Land Rover should fix this for making it so faulty
Great info but damn....7+ minutes for 2 minutes of info.
I like to show some background on the issue before giving the solution. This fix doesn't work for everyone so it needs to be that their scenario is similar to mine.
As always, you can't please everyone. There's always somebody who complains
@ Ussery David just shut the fuck up
seven minutes of BS for a blocked muffler on the air compressor pump.
Thanks for watching! 😊
Better if you let the professionals take care of it , you’ll just add another future problem , if you don’t have the money to fix it you shouldn’t be buying range rovers
So let me break this down for you and I HATE to be this blunt but most people are not helpless and scared to turn a wrench. Mechanics do love you though if you want to give them all the business in the world and that's not a bad thing if you want to do that (support your local business). BUT there are people like me and others who like to work on their own machines and really want to learn and understand how things work.
@@motoken Absolutely agree 👍
Tf? Whose says this ? With that thought process what would even make you click on a video like this? And to watch it Thru? Shmuck
@@motoken I agree, sometimes it is an easy fix and why waste money if you do not have to. I have the 2008 Supercharged Version that looks exactly like yours. Love and hate it all in the same second!
I don't get it... where did he go wrong? he fixed it, didn't he? all he did was drill a hole and it looks just like the part they sell at the dealer. and here's the part # LR025940
I wouldn’t recommend drilling the whole I did it. It just makes a lot of noise in the compressor.
