Thanks a good subject to cover on the L322. I would not always dismiss repair kits. Do some homework and if you have the time and spanner skills you can save yourself literally hundreds of pounds. Great to see you giving the L322 some love again.
Just replaced 2 front struts due to a leak on one. Would never just replace one side and have differing damping effectiveness across an axle. No dirt gets inside the airbag in use and it’s sealed on the strut by multiple O ring stacks top and bottom so replacing the bag is totally valid for a DIYer but garages probably can’t be bothered as it takes too long. Changing a complete strut is about 1/2 hours work for an experienced mechanic with the vehicle on a lift.
@@Back_Road_Hero Assuming the garage correctly fitted the airline to the strut and it’s not leaking then a height sensor failure can do this or a drift in sensor calibration settings. If you don’t have a GAP IID tool to check or recalibrate then take it back to the garage for them to do it. Pulling the suspension ECU fuse and leaving it overnight will indicate if it’s a leak ( corner goes down) or a sensor fault ( car stays level)
New video out John. It fixed itself. Tried the fuse and it went down. In the meantime though the air line or the bag I believe has reseated itself and sealed. Ed
Hi I thought you were going to reveal your new surprise EV purchase that you mentioned once, you will? And I bet you are well pleased you went off buying Fisker Ocean. So, am I after cancelling it. Likely to go bust as things stand, feel sorry for those who plunged into buying it.
Looks like we got lucky. However my pension has taken a hit. I’ll need to snatch the keys off my wife to get a video done. You’ll see a sneaky ‘half reveal’ in this video. 😜 Ed
Hi Ed, Did you replace with a Landrover strut or can you advise what brand you opted for. I believe I need a new one as I have a knocking noise from the strut. Thanks
Nice update Ed, good to see you posting again sir.
Thanks Brian. Now that things have settled down at work. 👍

Yes I did the research but at 107k miles it was probably a good idea to replace the damper as well. Ed
Nice to see you back in the RR
Feels like home. 😁 Ed
Hi ED, Great to see you back and posting again. All the best.
Thank you. Ed
Great to see you back...
Thank you. Ed

Thanks John. It seems that my celebration was short lived as it still seems to be lurching to one side. Any ideas? Ed

Experience tells that you have about 2000km between the one strut failing and the other , you could also be in for a compressor too
Thanks for the info. As soon as I noticed an issue I parked it up so hopefully have saved the compressor. Time will tell. Ed

Looks like a Mazda :)
Hi Ed,
Did you replace with a Landrover strut or can you advise what brand you opted for.
I believe I need a new one as I have a knocking noise from the strut.
Thanks
Yes I did. The specialist I use only uses genuine LR parts. Expensive but peace of mind. Ed
@@Back_Road_Hero Thanks Ed
