I only just got to watching this movie the other day. It is so good! Laat time I saw Paul Dano was in Escape from Dannemora, and between the two projects he shows his exceptional range!
@@CantinaTalkSW I had no idea he was in that! I saw it years ago, and really enjoyed it. I usually recognise people pretty well, but he mustve slipped by me haha
It’s literally a rip off of the dark knight but this time they actually called the villain the riddler instead getting it wrong calling him the joker not that this is a good riddler performance either.
I listened, I just think neither Reeves nor Dano understand the character just like Reeves fundamentally got Batman wrong too. They speak Wayne and Nigma are traumatised snowflakes who need their safe spaces. The riddler doesn’t retreat into his riddles to feel in control, he embraces riddles as a trademark of his intellect and his ego that he thinks he’s smarter than everyone else. The point of the riddles is to challenge Batman in the belief no one could outsmart him with his insanity ignoring the fact that Batman always outsmarts him in the end. Jim Carrey actually got the point of the character, his ego and intellect drove him to try outdo Bruce Wayne in every conceivable way only to be thwarted by his own arrogance in the end. As for Batman he doesn’t retreat from reality into his mission to protect Gotham, he knows he could hang up the cowl and have an easy life but he chooses to pass that life up so that hopefully no one has to go through what he did the night he lost his parents. Yes he is somewhat mentally trapped in that night, relieving their death over and over but he’s not trying undo the past just prevent it repeating itself for everyone else. ‘The Batman’ is categorically one the worst interpretations I’ve seen of this franchise, only one worse was Titans when they accused Batman as being as bad as the Joker.
Yeah until he blew up flood points in the city's levies and commanded other crazy loner's to almost kill the new mayor. He had the city scared within the context of the film. When you recall another live action version of Riddler where he was scary let me know.
Paul dank was great/ is a great actor. The film looked great. But the writing was pretty bad at points. Mainly just the riddler’s through line. Amazing intro. Some great moments. But like the riddles themselves and the reveal were really poorly conceived
Disney got it from Netflix then pulled it. Some of the best marvel stuff ever done. I fully expect this to be woke garbage like everything else they've done lately
Woke garbage is crazy dude. I do agree that movies are becoming more rushed, or fucking over the writers, but that's to do with Hollywood treating movies ad a cash Cow, and not an art.
The Puzzler

I first found out about him from a movie called little miss sunshine. He goes almost the entire movie a mute and still is good!

@@MediocreAverage Yea! he played Dwayne. (The silent kid in the back of the van)
Check out Prisoners
Worst barman movie ever, worst riddler ever, a fundamental misunderstanding of what drives the character.
Just a watered-down nolan batman movie, dc is so scared to let batman Movies be like the comics it's sad.

Don’t pretend to be a real fan if you don’t know about year one
@@smartstuf1026 I do know lol, but reeves won't have villains with superpowers in his films too. Lame.
@@smartstuf1026 this is an insult to year one.
I don't think the people saying they didn't like this Riddler really listened to the video at all.

@@tiffanyroberts6460Shut up you pretentious nerd.
Yes, he felt like anything, but the riddler, just like Penguin, felt nothing like the Penguin. I guess you accomplished what you wanted.
Wrong
Why does Matt sound like the riddler tho in the intro
He looks like he’d be a best casting choice although still no Carrey.
im sorry, but the riddler sounded more like a crazy pervert than a threat in the movie. the goons at the start were more intimidating

@@majinalastor5740 crazy perverts are often an actual threat because people underestimate the risk they carry.
I’d agree with you once he’s revealed as this kind of pathetic man but before that his identity is revealed he was definitely intimidating.
@@SecondAftermath Gotham, Cory Michael Smith was both scary and entertaining, he understood the character far better than Dano.
Just a ripoff of several movies. Riddler was Spacey from Seven
Is it cool to hate on this movie now? Seems like it but armchair contrarians pollute these comment sections. lol
Thanks for making the most boring Batman movie ever 😊❤
Thanks for letting everyone know you have poor media literacy 😊❤️
No way.
Go watch the marvels.
Cuck
This is one of the most comic accurate batman movie ever made! Batman is firstly a detective, but you clearly dont know! 😂

Was not a good riddler felt like some lame serial killer wannabe no style or anything that made him unique and wasnt a threat at all
Way too cartoony. Like the teen future Batman. Real cheesy. Younger me would have jizzed my pants for it. But eh I couldn’t get past the 1st hour
Gayest,worse ridler ever
Somehow “gayer” than the one that pranced around in bright green spandex with bright red hair? Lmao
