Thanks very much for your channel. Ave recently come into some money and have been considering starting a glamping site from scratch here in Scotland. Your channel has really helped me make up my mind so I really thank you for that. I have one question if you don’t mind. Would you do it all again?
That's so kind thank you and so pleased we can help. What do you think, is it something you are still considering or have we put you off?! I just chatted to Bryan about your question and we decided that yes we would do it again but very differently! If you want to chat any ideas through with me you would be more than welcome!
Yes it’s all I can think of😂. Am just trying to find the perfect place. I stay next to the sea and a lot of the land protected so can’t get planing permission for any kind of building. I just need to keep speaking to people and hopefully the right place with come up. Getting power and water into a secluded area could be a problem aswell. Apparently it will cost me a fortune. I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. Thanks very much I really appreciate you willing to help me with advice. No doubt I’ll be messaging you as more that one stage😂. Xx
Hi, thanks for sharing. What about the initial investment? Land, tents etc.. Also, do you not have to pay any business rates, VAT? Surely there is more to your overhead? Cheers
@@Rosstino1 Hi, great points. So yes we had an initial investment to buy our house which has the land attached. I think we are all in for about £150,000 for the structures and all the infrastructure but we've done this really gradually, investing each year as we had the funds. At the moment we qualify for 100% small business rate relief and our turnover is under the VAT threshold so luckily we don't have to worry about that for now!
Yes this is a good point, I also didn't mention anything about the re-investing we do - we make a tiny profit, if anything as we keep buying domes and spending the profits improving the site!
I appreciate this so much. These are the kind of things that people need to know about. Brilliant.
So glad it's useful! Hopefully we can chat soon?!
I love your honesty.
Awesome! Thank you so much.

@@Ar-jm3os yes we do, I can't remember if I forgot that part! We pay around £2200 a year for public liability and insuring the domes

Have you been? Sounds amazing!
Canada. In the trees. All of them tree houses. Like some sort of ewoke village.
Bryan used to live in Canada so you could be onto something there!
How about depreciation?
