Thanks a million Jared. This was my first shot at a long form content and not sure if it would be taken well. Glad you got a lot from it.

Same here Glamping Guy. I have watched a few of your videos over the past couple months. I remember the 'official' presentation you gave on how you got started, I think that was at the Glamping Show?

A great video. It gave me all the reasons why I'm not cut out for this business. I have an excellent property to do it , but bottom line , I am an introvert who doesn't enjoy company, noise, and social media.
However , I find the business highly interesting and I enjoy all the videos. Fun to watch , and makes one honest with themselves if they are cut out for this.

Thank you so much @gjm456 for your thoughts and compliment. Of course running a glamping business is not for everyone and here on my channel I do my best to show the audience what it is really like. I am also glad you find it fun to watch, as I sure do have fun making these videos and hope many out there like you are finding it both entertaining and educational.

You're correct that it's much much harder to get a bad review if you've met the people in person. But there is a HUGE cost to that. Unless you're not a very busy person generally. I'm a very experienced STR host.

Great video, thanks. I’m surprised you didn’t mention starting an LLC… we are wondering if we should do that right away before we start. Getting ready to pull the trigger (still researching) renting out our camper and a bell tent site. Would love to do a Hobbit home someday but are not feeling well equipped and struggling to find info.

Could you give a range of your average price per night for the 140 sq ft structure you built? And what is your occupancy rate?
    Thanks for the help

    • @theglampman3785

In New York average pricing is $130-$170 on a weekend, not including cleaning fee. Occupancy rate 2021-2022 over 80%. Last 2 years in the 40% range.

I have a ? Can you really make money with these tiny cabins

    • @theglampman3785

Yes it is certainly possible and many people do. The advantage I had is having little up front investment costs. I already had the main house and property under my feet. I also did a lot of the construction so I saved a bunch on building cost.
The way people get involved and lose money is when they invest a lot up front in land or a property, then pay a lot to build something and then underestimate the cash flow coming in from Airbnb.
