The top handle to side handle switch is a literal god-send. I just got a secondhand FS7 that's missing the default handgrip, but I never liked putting the thing on my shoulders anyways. Thanks for helping me out!
Cool idea with the side handle. Picked up a used FS7 and I'm struggling a bit with how to shoot. Shoulder mounting is not that comfortable without adding a bunch of stuff. Is it a good way to shoot if you're filming long days? I have the 18-110 lens and it's quite heavy. Thinking of selling it because it's just not very practical having all that weight at the front.
This is really helpful! I'm considering buying an FS7 but the stock handgrip/arm seems too cumbersome. I like the smallrig option you have as I'd also be doing a lot of handheld and I don't always want to mount the camera on my shoulder.
Agreed, I actually never take the stock arm/grip with me because of the lack of adjustment on it. I bought a small rig dog bone extending arm which works a lot better but you also need an additional rosette Mount for the grip which sort of sucks but hands down the FS7 has been one of my favorite cameras to use!
I love this handheld rig breakdown!! Thanks for your video. Wouldn't a left side handle be useful too? For a better grip. Would that be possible according to you? I know there are all the fs7 buttons on the left side.. Thanks for your channel!

I never use the handgrip either haha. Glad Ted video helped Samuel!
It was nice to see a update to your new camera and how you have set it up
Hope it gives people some ideas on why I choose certain pieces of gear that help me 👍

Hi
Ilove your setup!
how do you operate the camera without the Sony screen.
Is it possible to only use external monitor
Yes you can. You can use either of the SDI ports or the HDMI port.
@@atdavidlee thank you so much.

The right side is better because of the button layout haha
@@atdavidlee Yes, no doubt 😅
