Just want to say a big thank you for taking the time to do these videos give me the confidence to have a crack at the timing belts, etc. on my t4 van and save me a good few hundred quid thank you
Hi I'm a newbie to all this. I have just purchased a vw 97 T4 2.4 diesel non turbo . The previous owner passed away and his partner who sold me.the vehicle has no clue if any of the belts have been changed recently. Can you advise me what I should consider replacing so I don't have a Incident ?Thanks for your time
Hey You need change the main belt in a kit with tensioner and idler pulley also water pump The pump timing belt will need replacement too but if it breaks it won't do damage the other belt goes it's game over
How to set the timing to 0.55 "anti clockwise to the front of the pump"? That means i shoul turn the wheel of the pump down or up with the key? For me anticlockwise means down.Is it correct?

Did you say the bolt for th camshaft on the diesel pump side was a 31mm? That's a very unusual size.
No I never said 31 mm think it's 21mm from memory
