I thought I was the only one who bought that CD! Pure Moods was a fore-runner that started off the whole Chillout Genre which exploded at the turn of the millennium.
Well, sota. chill out/ambient/trip hop/acid jazz etc. came from a lot of the euro clubs in the late 80s early 90s from artists like Air, KLF, The Orb, Aphex Twin ... but you could really go back to the 70s with Brian Eno and Kraftwerk. Here in the States on the East Coast there were chill out/ambient events in the mid to late 90s (Cloudwatch and a few others) as well as whole rooms of festivals and raves devoted to the genre back then. Pure Moods was a collection of more commercial songs used in movie soundtracks and TV shows (The Exorcist, X-Files, Miami Vice), kind of like what Dance Music USA would be to techno/house/trance.

The nostalgia hitting so hard like a sledgehammer to the chest. The 90s style commercial, and even moreso, the music. So many that I love, but Adiemus is the one I am focused on right now. I could never look up these songs without knowing the names before, since most of the lyrics aren't seemingly real english words. I googled "90s tribal flow music", as that is the best way I can think of describing how to find the song, and then this commercial came up. My dad must of had the CD when I was growing up. Pure Moods, I remember now. This type of music is so painfully unique and specific to the 90s.
This commercial should be taught in all marketing classes because it has become engrained in the experiences of an entire generation no matter if you owned it or not.
I remember this commercial. In fact once I started watching it it's like I knew what each song was gonna be. Damn this must be like 1996-97 maybe?? Man how time flies..
I remember this commercial as a 12 year old, I always wanted it....30 years later this past Sunday I finally bought it at a pawn shop for .50 cents. I didn't realize that this was the cd from the commercial I saw as a kid,I just bought because of return to innocence, and now after seeing this commercial I'm remembering how great it was growing up in the 90's.
Laying on the couch after watching Trading Places for the millionth time on TBS. It’s 1 AM, it’s the late 90s, & this damn commercial hits while you’re fighting sleep. What a time to be alive 😂
This felt like some fevor dream from my childhood lol. Somewhere etched into my brain was a vague memory of some cd complication commercial that showed a picture of the pyramid with very new age-y ethereal music that would get stuck in my head but never had any way to look it up. I'm so glad i stumbled across this to finally know !!
i saw this commercial SO MANY TIMES growing up in the 90s. I'm glad im not the only one! Usually late at night when star trek TNG aired....and after school, during saved by the bell and the fresh prince....and family matters lol. Oh i miss the 90s
I remember when I first saw this commercial after it was over I wanted to get it. Then my mom saw this commercial and she really liked the music and also wanted to get the album. We both tried to get my dad to get us Pure Moods, all he kept saying was "we'll see". Then a couple of years later, I actually found a copy of Pure Moods at Walmart and of course I bought it and still have it to this day and I still love to listen to it.
Imagine a world where time drifts slowly. A world where music carries you away. Experience Pure Moods, the perfect soundtrack for your way of life. My aunt bought this CD and i remember being at her waterfront home the day she ordered it and for years after that when I’d spend the summers with her this was always playing. By 2007 I showed her how to get all this music on iTunes and through her Mac and it still played all the time in the form of a playlist 🤣
HOLY CRAP!! I just recalled ever last moment of my childhood from seeing this and hearing snippets of those songs. Thank you so much for uploading this!
Ah the 90's. The last 10 years before the end of the world. When 2000 hit, all life took a 90 degree nose dive. There's always the memories which this commercial flooded back in like an ocean. I'm so happy I grew up in the 90's even if i was 3 when 1990 hit. I can't imagine being born in 2000 and growing up now. Sad fucks from 2000 on don't even know how to write in cursive. I believe that alone makes me superior to all the generations after me that can't so that. It should be the default writing style of the world. either way, i can always bring it all back with commercials like this, and the actual songs themselves.
I legit remember this advert, when I used to get up at 7am on the family holiday and watch tv until 11am when we headed to the beach, I was 8 at the time. Great days
This TV ad may be one of the main causes of confusion of the correct artist of one of the tracks featured on this album - 'Adiemus' by Karl Jenkins. This track often falsely credits Enya because this commercial plays a clip of an Enya song, immediately followed by a clip of 'Adiemus'. The 1997 re-release of 'Pure Moods' has Enya on track two with her song 'Orinoco Flow', while track eight is 'Adiemus' by Karl Jenkins. It could be that the female vocal (by Miriam Stockley) on the Karl Jenkins track added to the confusion, with listeners assuming it can't be Karl Jenkins singing, so it must be another Enya song. Or something.
This commercial would wake me up at 1am when I fell asleep on the couch. Then my parents would run into the living room and yell at me for staying up so late.
Omg the memories this commercial brings back, being a teenager in the 90s. I love reading the comments, other peoples memories, nostalgia, and what it means to them. ❤

When you fall asleep to Nick at Nite and this comes on blasting at 3 am startling you and your solid nights sleep. 😂
These were so good, I never realized then that commercials would become part of the culture that I miss. Uplifting, bright, emotionally rich music.
I was just about to play this cdrip off my phone but I had to comeback and rewatch the commercial to get the right feel.
I found this at our local Goodwill COMPLETE in case for $1.49 and not a scratch on it, I was so happy!
90s Nostalgia overload!
My mother bought both Pure Moods and Pure Moods 2. She played them every Saturday morning while making breakfast.
Laying on the couch after watching Trading Places for the millionth time on TBS. It’s 1 AM, it’s the late 90s, & this damn commercial hits while you’re fighting sleep. What a time to be alive 😂
I remember this commercial when it was on TV
This commercial was a staple of the late 90's. Totally loved re-visiting this commercial after so many years :)
Not gonna lie. Totally bought this at Border's books.
@@jleffel6969 The long con. I like it.
Bro I remember this 😂 Sail Away SLAPPED and still does
I remember when I first saw this commercial after it was over I wanted to get it.
Direct from Europe, this multi-platinum collection has won the hearts of millions. Set adrift with the timeless pleasures of Tubular Bells. Or take a trip into the unknown with the X-Files Theme. No other collection gives you the feeling of Pure Moods.
My aunt bought this CD and i remember being at her waterfront home the day she ordered it and for years after that when I’d spend the summers with her this was always playing. By 2007 I showed her how to get all this music on iTunes and through her Mac and it still played all the time in the form of a playlist 🤣
I am going to make this commercial my Alarm tone and set to really loud so that I can relive my childhood
I called the number on the commercial to order the CD but it was disconnected. please help
LMFAO! Oh dude that was a good one.
if you really want this...chances are UA-cam has each one
Question Block Gaming
That's a commercial back from the 90s
😂🤣😂🤣
You can listen to it for free on Tidal :)
But not the last melody around :52 ... anyone know what it is ?
This commercial was damn near inescapable if you were home sick in the 90s. Your only hope was to just fall asleep to the radio instead.
I’ve spent yeaarrrrrrrssssssss looking for this commercial!!!!? I can’t believe I finally found it! Nostalgia fully activated.
Years? I typed "CD commercial from the 90s" into UA-cam and this was the second result.
now watch it at 3 am lol
Still got the cd... TO THIS DAY! TOOO THIS DAYYYY! Now i just need to buy a dam cd player
When I heard the X-Files techno remix, I died!
DJ Dado
I actually would have raved to that back in 2010
#PureEcstasy
Really, it was 1994 or 1997
I did a dance to “Return to Innocence” in High School
I’d pay money to see that now lol
HOLY CRAP!! I just recalled ever last moment of my childhood from seeing this and hearing snippets of those songs.
Thank you so much for uploading this!
I'm making this commercial my ringtone.
Just went to Sedona and sound healing instructor had this pure moods cd on deck… what a gem
This scared me as a child. 😂 I will never forget this cd commercial.
Me too! Adiemus and Tubular bells scared me in particular. If I had known what movie tubular bells was from it would have REALLY scared me.
It should be the default writing style of the world. either way, i can always bring it all back with commercials like this, and the actual songs themselves.
agreed
+TENNSUMITSUMA What a coincidence to see your comment here. I have been subscribed to you for a while
+wholewurld
ha ha, internet isn't as big as i thought :)
sounds like you don't thing much of the 2000 babies, am I right?
90s was the shit! There will never be a decade like that ever again.
OMG!!! I'm a kid again sitting in front of the TV. I just knew I was going to buy this CD one day!! Everything is digital and streaming now😢
Saw this commercial so many times while watching Comedy Central in the early 2000's. Sigh. Good days.
Just came back here to revisit a time where life was beautiful! 2024 is UNGOOD
This commercial would wake me up at 1am when I fell asleep on the couch. Then my parents would run into the living room and yell at me for staying up so late.
I remember this like it was yesterday.....and the commercial came out ~25 years ago! LOL
Omg the memories this commercial brings back, being a teenager in the 90s. I love reading the comments, other peoples memories, nostalgia, and what it means to them. ❤
Pretty sure my mom had this lol I definitely remember her listening to some of these
There was just something so innocent about the 90s
Man I remember this so well I know it by heart!
Same here. Lots of nights staying up late and they played this commercial ALL THE TIME! LOL
90s as fuck
Rebazar Nothin' better!!!!
Amante Yeah.
well... this completely encapsulates the music I heard when growing up early 2000s
I love how you have to buy CDs and I’m over here just adding every song on Apple Music😂 Man do I miss these commercials.
IE, songs you hear while you're on hold for customer service.
I'd find it highly suspicious if the X-Files theme would suddenly start playing.
Unless you’re calling RallySportDirect...theirs is “America...FUCK YEAH” in 8-bit
