I woke from a nap, and for some reason I woke up with the song, “I just died in your arms tonight.” I haven’t heard this song for over 20 years. I had to look up this commercial because that’s the only place I ever heard it 😂
I'm an elder millennial. Watching non-cable tv late into weekend nights by myself around 1999 - 2001 in middle school is itched into my memory. Just the right age for all of it to be titillating, eg, SNL, Mad TV, COPS, The-X-Files, the 90s version of The Outer Limits, weird dating shows after certain hours, etc. Naturally this commercial came on regularly during those tv binges.
I think you and I would have been best friends. I loved all those shows, and staying up late on the weekends binging them without a care in the world was my happy place.
Saturday night line up was Americas Most Wanted, Cops, Mad T/SNL (flip back and forth), Married With Children, Howard Stern Show. All shows i had no business watching. During the weeknights it was Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Party of Five and Jerry Springer. And of course after school was Full House, Saved by the Bell, Family Matters, Fresh Prince and Roseanne. And if you were really lucky and got to stay home from school it was all the trashy talk shows likes Sally Jesse Rapael, Geraldo, Montel Williams, and then of course The Price is Right. Then all the boring Soap Operas came on.
I’m close in age to you and also grew up in the 90s/00s without cable tv. This commercial and other like it are a real Time Machine for me, as is watching them when I couldn’t sleep late at night (especially the 30min infomercial versions)
To think my only responsibilities back when this would air during “saved by the bell” reruns, were to get up and get ready for the bus, come home and do homework and chores. What a vacation childhood actually is and you don’t realize it until something as simple as this fills you with nostalgia
I think of summer and my babysitter watching Days of Our Lives whole I ate my mac and cheese every single day before going out back to swim in our freezing pool 😂 good times ❤️ simple times too.
This was a commercial the guys I grew up with knew by heart. And it is still burned into my head 20 years after the fact, too. People that would come over to our house, and this ad would come on, couldn't stop laughing, because we would sing along with it word-by-word. I'm a little rusty now, but boy! What a flood of nostalgia.
I remember singing commercials like this in study hall with a buddy of mine; had everyone cracking up. "hey man is that freedom rock", "it sure is, man". "well turn it up man"
I said it before.... but i feel like I should say it again: ♬♭♪ *_Love lift us up where we belong.... baby, come to me..... Joanna.... lady in red..... think of Laura...._* ♬♭♪ I remember going to school/work with this damned order of songs (rather, this sequence of clips) playing and replaying over and over in my mind, back in the 90's... it damned near drove me insane! (don't get me wrong though.... those were/still are some pretty great songs).
Reading all these comments let's me know I'm not crazy after all these years I still play the same songs in my head and sing the same clips of these videos in the same order lol. I love it!!!
So weird how I miss these old commercials. I look at my kids now and wonder what crazy things they will have nostalgia for, like some YT ad or something LOL
TNG is the best, but I love Voygr the most, well maybe just as much. but I hate the episodes where they go back to the 1930-1940. but that one in Voygr when the Horgens take over the ship, YO!!!
This one I don't recall very well - but the one that came on at 2 in the morning LOUDLY to Celine Dion's "Cause I'm your ladyyyyyy...." to Michael Bolton's "Tell me how I'm supposed to live without you..." THAT I remember vividly!
I am 33, I remember this commercial when I was 5 or 6 and I remember it verbatim. I just had my wife cracking tf up singing along 😂😂😂😂. I WANT THIS COLLECTION
The order is burned into my head and for years these were the only lyrics I knew. Then when I heard the song, I waited until the one part I knew. Felt like I felt a puzzle piece.
I just recited the ENTIRE commercial verbatim 20-something years later LOL Who else is watching this because it JUST randomly popped into their head at 1am in the morning in 2019? (Raises hand) lol
This CD and commercial has been a legend between me and my sister for 25 years, we always tried to remember the songs on this cause we saw the commercial so many times, it's a way we bond I guess. We finally found the commercial after all this time, enjoy yourself kids, time goes by fast
I ordered this is 1995. This was a must have if you liked FM hits of the 80s & early 90s. Liked this cause I didn’t have to live thru radio chatter just push play & that’s it.
For me it was right after Shipmates and The Fifth Wheel and before Perry Mason at 3am on my local station. I'd come home from the bar, drunk, and this damn commercial was on. ha ha.
Burned into memory. The summer of 1998 was when this played during dubbed episodes of Ronin Warriors. Can't remember what I ate last Thursday but this I can remember from 25 years ago.
Joanna, Lady In Red and Think Of Laura (in that order) had been stuck in my head all day. I'm SO GLAD I found this video lmao. It's giving me all the nostalgic feels.
It was always weird to hear a full song from this playing on some mix years later and be like ‘Oh that’s how it goes?’ because my brain would just automatically fill in the next song’s lyrics from the commercial all the time. Like the lyrics to Love Will Lift Us Up don’t actually go ‘Love will lift us up where we belong, baby come to me, Joanna, lady in red, think of Laura’ 🤣
I remember watching this commercial on TV back in the 90's and I thought oh crap these are considered oldies now!!! I was born in 1984 and I was still hearing these songs on a loop.
Man hold up!!!! How in the world did I find this?? I thought I’d never see this epic, amazing, unique, beautiful commercial!!! Seriously, I had this commercial on my mind and every so often, I would think about it and remember so many great mornings. Filled with cartoons and mom making breakfast. Thank you so much for uploading this video and helping me relive beautiful times in my life!!!!
I used to have this commercial on tape and rewatched it over and over again for Chyna Phillips. I had a huge crush on her. Also, rewatching this now, I still remembered a lot of the songs that would be playing right before they came on.
I still remember the exact order of all these tunes, well over 20 years later!!! This so takes me back to my junior high days! Those were some wonderful days for me. 😁
THE SONGS ARE HOT...BUT THE ROCK IS COOL!!!!!! (Epic AF dry ice not included) I'll fight a fucker over how legendary this commercial is. May the gods bless you for finding and posting such a clean version of this....
+zombiecrush If you like hits from the 1980s, or if you simply have the Cool Rock commercial stuck in your head, then go for it! It's a pretty good collection. I don't think Mystic Music is still around, but you can still find the double-CD listed on various online stores.
+Dr. D. lol did you intend to sound like an ad? "Have you had the Cool Rock commercial stuck in your head for the last 20 years? Well, introducing.... COOL ROCK!"
Oh man, the nostalgia! I remember this commercial!! I would always sing Wilson Phillips’s song every time this came on. I became familiar with them because of it!
I remember watching this with my mother and she went ahead and ordered it, she still has it among others and over 20 years later she still has it and plays it.
As a little kid in the late 90’s, I remember these music commercials such as this while watching PBS and Cartoon Network. It played a huge part of why music keeps me Upbeat every day ❤.
WOW!...Watching this commercial now in 2021. 🤔 I remember that I bought that CD and I think it's somewhere saved....🙂👍Thank for this video, it brought me many beautiful memories.
I memorized this commercial back in the day. Now I live less than 5 miles from the address. Sadly, I can't go belt this at their front door, they aren't around anymore.
But why do I still remember the order of the songs ALL THESE YEARS LATER?
naturallyme14 Good advertising is everlasting!

I woke from a nap, and for some reason I woke up with the song, “I just died in your arms tonight.” I haven’t heard this song for over 20 years. I had to look up this commercial because that’s the only place I ever heard it 😂
When this CD came out people purchased it for nostalgia...now for nostalgia we 90s kids go to this commercial! Funny how it works!

I grew up in this cable tv.
This commercial has become more iconic than the CD itself. If ever I have time and money I just might order the CD
Get the cassettes, it's cheaper 😂
You can get all of those songs for free on UA-cam now. No need to spend any money, but I guarantee you'll have 3 ads per song without an ad blocker.
@@CuteCuteJames Allow 3-6 weeks for delivery.
If you have the time to be postin' on UA-cam, you definitely have time to order the CD.

No lies detected!!! I have fond memories of this commercial!!
"Baby, come to me...JOANNNNNAAAA, ladyyy in reddddd" - used to swear that was the same song when I was 7 years old
This was a commercial the guys I grew up with knew by heart. And it is still burned into my head 20 years after the fact, too. B. Ruff me too! My brother asked "U memorized all the songs?!" I said "yeah, cuz it (the commercial) comes on all the time!!"

Seeing all of these comments... I'm so happy to see I'm not the only one who holds this commercial in such high regard!
