Thank you, Ruri, for this inspiring video. Today, at 41, I find myself unemployed, uncertain of what to do next, in a country where the economy makes it hard to have a good quality of life. My career has been entirely in journalism, and communicating is all I know how to do. Perhaps this is the path I need to take. Your video was a breath of hope for a dream that still has a chance to come true, and I am grateful for that
I stay with the last words you said. Self-esteem is very decisive for being on UA-cam or other sites. To tell the truth, you empathized clearly. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. :)
I'm only at 47 subscribers, but I'm quite happy I started a UA-cam Channel! I work full time as a mail person in Canada, but love UA-cam as a new Hobby!

Thank you for your honesty and being genuine. I appreciate you. I started my channel, back in June and am going slowly. The basic is, I like building models and just wanted to share that and maybe help some other model builders along the way. Your videos were inspiring to me to give it a try. I wish you all the success you want and hope you always stay this down to earth. Again, thank You.
I find that making UA-cam videos have greatly increased my confidence and camera shyness. Before this, I have always seen myself as very unphotogenic and I hated recording myself. Now, that unhealthy view of myself has been slowly but surely disappearing. Not to mention that I actually love recording and editing my own content and videos!
Thanks ruri. U have given me a reason to live. I was alone for most of my time in my life. No one really became my friend. I thought about ending it sometimes. But u gave me a reason to keep going. I started this channel this summer, i’ve had fun with it as well as a lot of hard work but it definitely helped improve my confidence in front of camera and in general. Over the past month, I’ve been on a transformative journey, one that I never imagined I would take. I started watching your videos, and from the very first moment, something sparked inside me. 5:50 this part here really hits home. I am half chilean half argentinian and I've felt like an outsider all my life because of this. specially due to the rivalry that these countries have, I never felt like I could express myself 100%, which is the reason I've always considered the idea of creating a youtube channel. I feel like if I uploaded silly videos of me doing stuff in my two nations I could see more clearly the nice things that my two identities give to me, It would help me see the beauty in this mess and hopefully would make me stop feeling like a foreigner all the time. Your video was really helpful and offered me an insight that I never had about this problem, thank you
I remember you once saying it took you trying 5 different channels before you succeeded. Starting from scratch sounds so daunting so I applaud your tenacity
I love your channel, I have Been procrastinating to start a UA-cam channel because I look how good people's content is there was no way I can compete with it. But I saw your video today. Definitely a sign I needed and motivation for the push I needed.
Keep fueling your passion and creativity! Your voice and the content you create have the ability to reach and impact so many people. Each video you release is an opportunity to inspire, teach, or entertain, and your dedication shows.
Getting views on UA-cam is hard at first. Thanks Ruri, for the inspiration. I think it's good to start a channel, but be prepared of seeing small results, but just as Ruri said, it took her years before she started gaining views. I think it's good, but it can be hard doing videos and working and studying at the same time. It's always hard for me to make the call between working hard on something and making a complicated video that takes longer to make, or to just make a simpler video that you can get out quicker, maybe a little bit of both
Love this!!! I travel full time on my motorcycle. I started doing UA-cams because, after watching a couple hundred Itchy Boots videos, my son gave me his old GoPro and pushed me to do this. Now I make my videos for me, so that years later I can look back at them and say, oh yes, I remember that place, or I remember that guy riding my bike. Like my last one was a Thanksgiving video for my family and friends and I bet I've watched it 20 times already because it makes me smile, and it picked up one more subscriber. The other reason I do it is I'm getting older, 69, and editing is way out of my wheelhouse and I think it is stimulating to learn new things. So if people want to follow along I'm cool with that. And I have made several new friends from different parts of the globe that I never would have if it wasn't for my UA-cam channel.
I wish I had this video back when I was starting. I was so mad because I had great content but wasn't getting any attention. 1k was mission impossible. I was lucky when I found out I can boost my channel with initial subs just enough to start getting noticed. I got myself first couple of hundred subs for very low price (personally used a lot of Famester). After that my main channel gained a ton of organic traffic.
Thank you Ruri, your channel actually inspired me to make youtube videos to help my students (I'm a history teacher). Appreciate that you're always so charitable in your knowledge as well!
🔥Thank you! 🔥I wish I had come across this video when I was starting out. Ruri Ohama has done an excellent job here-it would have been such a huge help back then. I had amazing content but was frustrated by the lack of attention it was getting. Her work is top-notch and truly valuable for anyone looking to grow their channel.🔥Thank you! 🔥
Oh THANK you for speaking about the „hobby“ point. I always hear from all sides, it SHOULD just start as a hobby. But I want more as just „a hobby“. Of course I love it, but I want to treat it as a job. A hobby I don’t have to do consistent!
i started my youtube channel 4 years ago, i had no clear idea but it was like a hobby for me but then i wanted to grow,i had about 40 videos posted but i deleted 20 of them coz i was insecure(also the content of each video was different as i never thought about growing) as i m still teen and i m preparing for college entrance this year, i can't start youtube right away, i always add your videos to my inspiration playlist, you are such an inspiration✨😭,i will definately start youtube next year..
Thank you so much for your video. I think that I want to start a youtube channel, but I make excuses for some reason and I prepared script, but I don't shooting video. You are an inspiration for everything, and I have learned a lot of things from you.
Ruri, I think that this video is one of the best on your channel. Your storytelling went to another level. It is want I really needed now, thanks for motivation.
Your video touched me, it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, thanks to you I will continue. I will not lie to myself anymore, I want to grow but I want above all to create. This deep sadness in me, this melancholy, I want to share it. Maybe some people will feel less alone by finding themselves in my creations. Thank you, your quote will remain engraved 💙 "Only those who can endure the pain of hard work without immediate results truly deserve to enjoy the rewards of success"
As a new UA-camr in the make money online niche, completely agree with you. I used be a Facebook content creator that monetize my content with affiliate marketing, but I have realized that video is can drive more conversation to any offer that is well package.
I've always wanted to start a channel, mainly for streaming I've just never plucked up the courage😂 I already have videos on UA-cam with a few views and they're years old.
I started my channel back in 2020, but I fell off with it. But as I've been trying to break into the creative industry as a graphic designer, I find myself feeling lonely and needing a creative community, and that's one of the main reasons I want to get back into it. Regarding the growth aspect, I think there tends to be this guilt (at least for me) to admit that you want it to grow and become a source of income, and I literally told myself today that there's nothing wrong with wanting to make a living out of it. So I really appreciate you for making this video.
Wow, truly resonates. Don’t share with your friends in the earlier part of building your YT channel. You’d be surprised that your family and friends are the skeptical ones and their feedback may bring you down. Along the way, you’ll start to see within that group, who’s the genuine supporter. So glad i’ve started a channel - self growth, skills building and creative outlet. 😊
Wow, congratulations on your impressive investment success! Your discipline and focus on delayed gratification is truly inspiring. I'm curious, what are some of the key factors that you consider when making investment decisions? Do you have any tips for those of us who are just starting to dip our toes into the world of investing? Thanks for sharing your story!
I'm not a big channel but I LOVE making videos. Its so cathartic. It's kept me sane over the last year. God inspired me to make my channel and I'm so glad I listened to Him. God bless you for the encouraging video!
he is my family' personal Broker and also a personal Broker to many families in the United states, he is a licensed broker and a FINRA AGENT in the United States.
I cannot thank you enough for this video. I have been posting UA-cam videos now for 60 days, and was feeling a bit despondent this afteenoon, that I do not feel like I am gaining any traction. However, I like what you said, to creare a space that feels like home. Which I have been doing. And, will continue to focus on doing.
there's a book called whispers of manifestation on borlest , and it talks about how using some secret tehniques you can attract almost everything in life it's not some bullshit law of attraction, it's the real deal
I started my UA-cam channel like just months ago, and indeed I am on the verge of giving up because it seems that nothing is happening and I have this feeling that perhaps this is not meant for me. And all of a sudden, your video popped out and encouraged me to continue doing my videos. Thank you very much. You are Godsent. 🙂✨
I just started my youtube channel on making random content 5 years ago. But then life stuff got in the way for awhile. Now that I have a clear vision of the pivot i want to take my channel to moving forward. I am planning a comeback sometime next year for sure as a soft rebrand per say. Been noting down my ideas right now that i am pretty proud with, all what is missing having plenty of time to make them at the moment. But I am all aboard this hype train of content creation again next year and see where it takes me. I so needed to hear this thanks Ruri. :)
You’re a complete inspiration…. I don’t care about anything than connect with people and helping them if I can. Even if my videos just make them smile. I a;ways loved film and video, since I was a teenager. I’m an addict. I chose art and illustration and I was successful at it, but I miss grabbing a camera and letting things happen. I hope we can talk one day and share ideas. I think you’ve got it. But what’s authentic is, you worked for it. You suffered for it. You kept going…. That’s so important… many, including me, give u- when obstacles pop up…. That’s a part of it. But going back to it is so important… get a support system who’s there for you to grab you and shaking you to get back to it. I love this channel and am so grateful for you Ruri!😊
Why do I get the feeling that you're just regurgitating the same video over and over? I don't try to sound rude, please don't misunderstand me. I jus watched the full video to the end but we have an agreement in which I give you my time and my time is more valuable than anything. The last thing I want to hear is the same "yap" you've covered multiple times in the past. Thank you.
I think a new portion people will be also watching the new videos, without having watched the old ones.. (example:me) so I think it's fair enough.. it still takes effort!
We started our channel about a month and a half ago. We are in our mid-fifties. We want to retire in Italy and thought it would be fun to document our journey and the process. We are having so much fun and learning so much. We are SLOWLY growing, but that's ok. It will happen in time. We're just going to keep on keeping on.
RURI! I just restarted my UA-cam journey, 7 years after posting one video and immediately deleting it. 🤣 This year I gave myself the promise that I'll stick with it for a whole year and see how I feel by the end of it. The rule is, no deleting my videos this time. Having watched you from your early beginnings, it's been inspirational seeing you grow through your perseverence.
I get what you're saying Ruri, i started my UA-cam channel back in 2020, and not only making videos. But to improve my creativity, my video production skills, and to show what hobbies i can do. And that's what it takes. And like you said, it time to gain subscribers. 5:50 I never knew that, but don't let it bother you so much. Always be proud of who you are and what your good at. That's what matters the most. Me, i don't mind at all. I always show respect and support to those trying to achieve what their good at. This has been a very good video, TYVM for sharing this me. Stay Positive🥰🥰🥰🥰🖤🖤🖤🖤♥♥♥♥✌✌✌✌💯💯💯💯
Great advice! It is so great to know that others (as small creators) went through the same things. Now I don't feel alone and it seems that I got the inspiration I needed 🌟
In your other video on your other channel, you were talking about that one way where you were looking at IG post and keep looking back into it to keep you motivated in your goals. This video is that for me, so thank you for sharing.
I was thinking to start an education channel but was hesitant and thinking what my friends and family will think but it is really my passion and right now going through tough time in career and I feel only teaching can give me solace....after hearing you today I think I am gonna give my best to it❤
I don't really think that I will be able start a channel right now and has this attitude to keep going as you said, but your video really gives me a lot of energies, thank you so much for sharing your stories
What a Coincidence 🤩 Just restarted my youtube journey today and saw this video in feed. I was doing gaming videos without face and voice in my videos and hadn’t reached anywhere, for two times in the last three years. But i learnt a lot from those two channels. Now finally decided to go with face-cam and voice. All these years that was ME stopping me. I always worried what people say ,judge and think..but realised nobody really cares. The best thing to do is start RIGHT NOW. Because we don’t know, until we start and try. I have to see where this road leads but am now happy that i did started after all these years.
A month old, I know, ancient online. But here is the thing, no matter when you upload sometimes the right videos find you at the right time. This is one such time and one such video. Thank you for posting it.
Brilliant video, Ruri! As a filmmaker working mainly with event and corporate films, your insights have given me a lot to think about regarding starting my own UA-cam channel. Looking forward to more such inspiring content!
I started mine and mainly wanted a way to catalogue our travels and also become more creative. And it is growing slow and steady. I would like to do it full time as a travel creator one day.
Thanks for your advise. I started UA-cam channel in 2015 and am still struggling to get subscribers. It’s really really hard. I purchased camera, laptop with editing software and subscription for music and etc to start UA-cam thinking that I would start UA-cam channel but it’s not happening like I expected. I nearly gave up YouTubing but after seeing this video I got encouraged and go on creating more videos. Thank you Ruri.
Enjoyed the video, thanks. This year I have come to the realization that so much of success in life is a product of doing the basics, showing up everyday and enjoying the process. That's it.
Very nice advices. I started my channel 8 months ago and it is slow but consistently growing reaching 470 subscribers. Yes, this is my 2nd channel and I met a niche (brazilian people working in Japan with advices to prepare the retirement in both countries). The niche is small but there are demands, also I feel happy helping people to understand the process and make their future life more comfortable.
I didn't know you had a second channel Ruri, going to check it out now. Thanks for the encouragement Ruri, I recently got monetized after 1.5 years of posting and I hope to make a living in five years!

I stoped studying for months but after watching ur vids i got the motivation to study again and i am trying to improve myself now. Once again, thanks u a lot!!❣️✨
Your video was really helpful and offered me an insight that I never had about this problem, thank you
This video is good just in general not just about YT, some of the steps there you need to follow in general in your daily lives
You really feel genuine when you speak, which makes this advice even more motivating :) Thank you Ruri
Omg I needed that, I literally thought about starting an art UA-cam channel a week ago but than got scared. This is my sign to actually do it ^ ^
It's not about being scared, it's about being depressed for 0 views for a long time.
@@HelloWorld-up4of yeah that's also happening to me
I remember you once saying it took you trying 5 different channels before you succeeded. Starting from scratch sounds so daunting so I applaud your tenacity
I love this video. I have any ideas for videos, just not the confidence to start. Your video provides a sense of the "just try it" ideal. :)
I love your channel, I have Been procrastinating to start a UA-cam channel because I look how good people's content is there was no way I can compete with it. But I saw your video today. Definitely a sign I needed and motivation for the push I needed.
Hi Ruri, you're one the few people helping me stay focused on my goals. Soon enough, when I succeed, I'll let you know❤.
Keep fueling your passion and creativity! Your voice and the content you create have the ability to reach and impact so many people. Each video you release is an opportunity to inspire, teach, or entertain, and your dedication shows.
Your videos are always stunning. Thank you!
It's always hard for me to make the call between working hard on something and making a complicated video that takes longer to make, or to just make a simpler video that you can get out quicker, maybe a little bit of both
Thank you! Just started, I’m going to stay with it.
Thanks for this tip, Famester looks like really awesome tool

Thank you Ruri, your channel actually inspired me to make youtube videos to help my students (I'm a history teacher). Appreciate that you're always so charitable in your knowledge as well!
Great video, Ruri... exactly what I needed... THANK YOU!!! ❤
this was so heart-warming...thank you for the positive words. really needed them
I was the same! Hopefully you'll pick up the camera again!

Thank you so much for your video. I think that I want to start a youtube channel, but I make excuses for some reason and I prepared script, but I don't shooting video.
You are an inspiration for everything, and I have learned a lot of things from you.
It takes you 1 year to reach 1 million but it takes 7 years of experience to reach it wow!❤
Thank you, your quote will remain engraved 💙
"Only those who can endure the pain of hard work without immediate results truly deserve to enjoy the rewards of success"
I must admit that I took it personally. Many thanks for another great video.
Thank you Kenzo-kun :)

This is really very encouraging as I am experiencing the same. Thank you Ruri for this very encouraging video. Keep on keeping on. Blessing!
I feel like that video gave me motivation to start posting again. Thank you Ruri
All the best ❤
@JoyfulArtisticAdventures Thank you
Wow, truly resonates. 😊
Very true!!!
Thank you for recommending Sarah Jennine Davis on one of your videos. I reached out to her and investing with her has been amazing.
Wow, congratulations on your impressive investment success! Your discipline and focus on delayed gratification is truly inspiring. I'm not a big channel but I LOVE making videos. Its so cathartic. It's kept me sane over the last year.
God inspired me to make my channel and I'm so glad I listened to Him.
God bless you for the encouraging video!
Hello, I want to start investing, but I'm unsure where to start. Do you have any advice or contacts for assistance?

❤Ruri I still love you
I will forever love Ruri 😫
I just started my youtube channel on making random content 5 years ago. But then life stuff got in the way for awhile. Now that I have a clear vision of the pivot i want to take my channel to moving forward. I am planning a comeback sometime next year for sure as a soft rebrand per say. Been noting down my ideas right now that i am pretty proud with, all what is missing having plenty of time to make them at the moment. But I am all aboard this hype train of content creation again next year and see where it takes me. I so needed to hear this thanks Ruri. :)
NGL the first half of the video sounded like chatgpt talking about generic motivational advice.
Thanks Ruri ❤
Thanks for sharing. I need to remember just to keep going. It will work out if I just keep going, getting better and stacking my skills.
Thank you.
People need to be reminded more often than they need to be instructed :)
I think a new portion people will be also watching the new videos, without having watched the old ones.. (example:me) so I think it's fair enough.. it still takes effort!
the only video i need. thanks ruri i will start and i will keep going and be success
Your title is exactly similar to desiree nichole😅

I've been working on my UA-cam channel(not this account, this is my personal account) and your videos have been intrumental. Ive learned so much!
I have been a subscriber since a long time and enjoyed most of your content and wish you best of luck in your future endeavors!
What a Coincidence 🤩
Just restarted my youtube journey today and saw this video in feed.
It is amazing it takes time but I can't believe how amazing this journey has been !
Great points. Thank you Ruri. Good luck with your financial situation and be happy!
Enjoyed the video, thanks.
This year I have come to the realization that so much of success in life is a product of doing the basics, showing up everyday and enjoying the process. That's it.
You are amazing Ruri. Keep it up!
Best video on youtube motivation I've ever seen, thanks❤
Very nice advices. I started my channel 8 months ago and it is slow but consistently growing reaching 470 subscribers. Yes, this is my 2nd channel and I met a niche (brazilian people working in Japan with advices to prepare the retirement in both countries). The niche is small but there are demands, also I feel happy helping people to understand the process and make their future life more comfortable.
I didn't know you had a second channel Ruri, going to check it out now. Thanks for the encouragement Ruri, I recently got monetized after 1.5 years of posting and I hope to make a living in five years!
Thank you. There were countless of times that i wanted to give up and move on with my life. But you reminded me why I started, so Thank you Ruri!
