Trevor Peterson is one of the best participant I've seen in these kinds of documentary. He explained everything perfectly. He was clear. He knew what he was talking about. Great addition to the video!
El Toro Ryan will be upset that block zones haven't been mentioned even once in a video about coaster safety 😂
For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop the train in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another.
Wow Trevor Peterson from Glenwood Caverns basically just gave us a ride maintenance 101 class. Intelligent dude and an awesome ride!
And really hot...

Just watched this with one of my sons who is very nervous of bigger coasters and will flat out refuse to go on them with no reason why.
After watching this he is now motivated to give them a go when we travel to Orlando (literally) tomorrow.
This video could not have been better timed. Thank you soooo much. I am forever indebted to you both.
That’s amazing! Thank you so much!
Tbh it sounds like you might be making him do something he doesnt want to. Not doing something is also fine
@@user-qz2ld3vt2ddid you bother to read the part that his son is motivated to go on coasters now, or just hating because you feel like it
@@tgorefan motivated to go on a coaster doesnt mean wants to go on a coaster. It means after his father showed him a video about rollercoasters, clearly liking them, he agreed he would try one. Or at least, it can mean that. That doesnt mean he wants to do it. It can be that he doesnt want to dissapoint his father. I of course cant be certain, which is why i phrased it "it sounds like".
@@user-qz2ld3vt2dsoft ass shut up
That opening intro was fire!!!!!!!!
ikr, that was amazing. That should be the new Coaster Studios intro
@@GoudLoodje it was also the intro for this is how we roll
I agree the intro is fire 🔥🔥🔥
@@christianortiz-v1l oh nice, I had no idea cause yk, it costs money lol
I’m pretty sure they used the intro for the RMC documentary they made.
recent videos have been insanely high quality, this could be a netflix documentary
Funny I typed Coaster into Netflix last night and there was nothing. Was thinking they needed something like this
This was excellent. I'm an educator and I might show this to the freshman when we start talking about uncommon careers.
I would love that if I was in school, I’m an enthusiast.
Hot damn. Trevor is an absolute natural instructor and presenter. 11/10.
I bet he was a climbing instructor at some point. You need to be really precise with your language so everyone is always on the same page, not fall into jargon, exude competence and confidence, understand exactly why the gear works the way it does, and the physics involved with different rope arrangements.
The editing, the graphics, the footage, everything...amazing!! Awesome work! :D
The amount of effort you guys put into these videos is been insane
I just rode this roller coaster a couple days ago on vacation and it was phenomenal. Now I just learned the background and daily work that goes into it. Thx for the info!!!!!!!
I've always said the car ride to the park is infinitely more dangerous than riding every coaster at the park 1000 times.
After being in the park all day that seat belt feel surprisingly inadequate.
@@thenewgray it literally isnt needed at all, u have a restraint using 2 big hydraulic cylinders. the seatbelt is just there bc the maintenance team asked for it
@@ashe_xox I mean the seat belt in my car. As the original comment was about driving to the park.
I genuinely forgot I was just watching a youtube video, this is incredible.
wow you guys have come such along way with your editing and videos Sarah was such a great addition I have been watching you guys for 6 years great video keep up the amazing work
Love that new intro. Graphics and production definitely updated in an amazing way…

Very impressed with the in-depth details. Bravo on a well crafted high quality coaster presentation!
Wow, the new intro is great
OH DAMN THE PRODUCTION VALUE!!! LETS GOOO
Nothing is 100% safe but coasters are safer than the car, bus or subway ride you take to get to a theme park.
One of the reasons that accidents involving roller coasters often make the news is that they are _not_ a common occurrence.
So what you are saying is we should just demolish all the roads and railways and just replace them with giant scale rollercoasters.
@@gigadonis8684 I wasn't saying that at first. But now that it's been bought up I think is time we heard some proposals. I mean, this is all in interest of public safety, of course.
@zacg_ wait someone seriously brought this up as a proposal? What a madlad!
@@gigadonis8684 no. I was being absurd. I was referring to you bringing it up in the thread.
But again, if that's what it takes to keep the public safe.....
Awesome to see a young intelligent man, being so knowledgeable about these thrill rides. Being a 26yr old myself, I have looked into being a ride maintenance person. Just as a fun summer job. Unfortunately the park near me pays half as much as my current job, a diesel mechanic. I figured I could jump between the two as many of the rides near me use Air Brake systems to operate, which semi’s use as well! However, I am not a carpenter… so it was probably just a pipe dream regardless lol.
This music is incredible!!! Universal quality!
Thank you so much!
Well done, Coaster Studios. This video will have legs for sure. People are always curious about this subject.
Videos like this make me appreciate so much more these rides every time I go one them. I always try to help the ride ops, tell them thank you, unbuckle seatbelts on the brake run, anything to help them out just a bit. I’m always trying to teach my dad something new about them, especially when it comes to safety and operations. Really cool documentary, thought I was on Netflix for a second.
The production quality of this video is insane! It was lovely to watch and I learned so much about. Keep up the great work!
Very well done mini doc on Defiance operations. I always look forward to these from you. I got to say though, the title of the video is rather strange
I wish that coaster maintenance mans would come check my ride daily. Seems like he def knows what he’s doing ☺️
Well done fantastic video, and well done the team at that park for sharing that breakdown of procedures
I wanna be a roller coaster designer when I grow up, maybe for gravity group or something. I had a hard time in my first physics class. This gave me confidence
Great job you guys. This helped me feel more secure about GC - I still don’t think I could go on any of their rides but I would consider it - knowing the safety that goes into this place
I just started watching and was instantly reminded of my first trip to Dollywood where I was talking to this lady in line waiting for lightning rod that had her husband working at the park to help build big bear mountain. She was telling me how her husband was out of Colorado working on Defiance. It was such a cool and fun conversation.
Dude that intro was fire! I was not expecting that😂
Excellent video!! I love the high quality production! Good job team!! 👏
I have never been more excited to ride a roller coaster. Trevor is fantastic! I live in Colorado and was at Glenwood Adventure Park just before the mine drop opened, I have wanted to go back and your video shows that this park is seriously upgraded its safety routine. Bravo Glenwood Adventure Park. Don’t let Cedar Point steal him!
Love The Intro And The Quality! Keep Up The Good Work!
It would've been more accurate to title this video "Why Defiance at Glenwood Caverns Is Safe"
This documentary is definitely important for anyone who is terrified of coasters or had bad experiences while riding it
Best theme park channel on UA-cam quality wise
Yalls quality is amazing!

Woah 😮 This quality is incredible. The intro was amazing. Great Job Coaster Studios!
This is amazing! This makes me want to see this is how we roll so bad. I’ll definitely watch it whenever I get the chance!
Funny that for as safe the rollercoaster is Glenwood Caverns require you to sign a waiver to walk around the park lol
While I agree with the sentiment, Glenwood Caverns boasting about their safety procedures and experienced staff when they literally killed a child just a couple years ago due to their negligence is pretty wild.
It does seem like they have stepped up their game though.
@@paninidevOfficial as a operator/trainer who worked at the park from before the accident to this year, so much changed from a safety standpoint for the better I’m very proud of where we are now.
This video is not about Roller Coasters being safe. It is about Defiance and how it presented unique challenges in its construction and maintenance. Direct ride safety was mentioned in exactly 5 contexts in a 25 minute video. Most of this video is discussing Defiance and what sets it (and Glenwood Caverns) apart from your average park / ride. That’s fine by me, but if you’re going to make a film of this quality about a coaster, then make sure to market it as such. I came in expecting a detailed explanation of a variety of safety measures implemented on a variety of rides. Instead, what I got was little more than a Glenwood Caverns promotional film. On another note, I wish this channel still produced content made by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. This video works great for your average theme park guest, but any real enthusiast knows what a chain dog is, or an anti rollback system, or the difference between magnetic and friction brakes. I’ve been a viewer of this channel since 2019; it introduced me to the enthusiast community. I’m sad to say I feel like the content has gone downhill from the perspective of an enthusiast, an audience that this channel used to cater to! I appreciate the time and effort you put into this content, Taylor, but this video really doesn’t do it for me.
I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy the video, but your assumption that every enthusiast knows what every working part of a coaster is is quite far from the truth. This video is extremely detailed and goes into a lot of information that many enthusiasts even don’t realize. We deliver content made for enthusiasts quite often, we rarely ever make videos for the mass public.
The entire video is top notch! Outstanding all around!
Awesome job, Taylor and Sarah! Honored to work with you both again!
you are a musical genius! always incredible to work alongside of you :)
Great video! Very informative and love the new production quality
Working maintenance on roller coasters seems like a dream job to me, but I’m terrified of heights lol. However I love roller coasters. I ride any that I can even though I feel like I’m going to die going up the lift hill. The exhilaration. I trust and defend rollercoasters, because they are modern marvels. It is amazing that we’ve made such wild creations that are so insanely safe that if there is even the slightest change at any point in the track or train or anything in between it will not be able to move/ leave the station. The technology is amazing. That being said walking through the queue of Iron Gwazi I looked up at the top of the lift hill and my knees literally buckled. My wife caught me. I probably have less than 50 coasters under my belt, but that ride literally had my jaw dropped for 10 minutes after the brake run. Maybe I’ll get over my fear of heights through roller coasters, but honestly being absolutely terrified until I’m going down that first drop and the terror turns to elation is an absolutely amazing feeling! Everyone laughs at me going up, but I’m the only one with his hands up the whole time.
Very professional video!! In terms of the trains discussed here, let's hope there is not a Carrington-type event that precludes any expedient release of the restraints!
That’s so much for this video, my friend will now go
on Maverick with me since he watched this!
I would LOVE to see a lot more behind the scenes documentaries on coasters 😎 💪, very well done guys! Hey!! Come to Canadas Wonderland for the ACE event Sept 14!!! Sending good vibes as always
I didn't realize how much inspection to all those details go into the rides every morning before park opening. Thats crazy!
Even a small Gerstlauer Eurofighter is this complicated with all its components and safety mechanisms.
The new intro goes so hard its great.
You really think y’all are allowed to pull an intro animation that clean?!
this is the first time I've ever seen good footage of a Gerstlauer lift assembly working
This was amazing. Id love to see one on King's Dominion!
That’s a great video! Well done by all involved.
Im only 3 mins in but bro the fact they were gonna build that coaster on the actual CLIFF is insanity lmao, I'd love to see a concept of how that would have looked, would've been awesome.
I love this park so much im so glad it's my home park (Elitch Gardens doesn't count) 😼
This is one of your best videos.
New Coaster Studios Intro?! Thats insane!
It’s actually the same intro from This is How We Roll- it made its debut in 2021!
That intro is absolutely insane
My brother helped build defiance and he gave me an extra bolt from the ride so its pretty cool to see this
THIS is the right way to promote a ride even though is not a promotional campaign.
On a serious note (that was terrifying) .. I love that this place can be soooooooo incredibley good at maintenance and preventitivr maintenance and still make enough profit to succeed and grow! Let that be a lesson to other parks.
very good quality.
amazing vid! I've had a video in the works on a separate channel for a while. I have a brief segment on the video talking about the maintenance traffic road and I don't have any footage on it (obviously since im not allowed to be on it) even if I am unable to use the actual time lapse driving up the road, is there any chance I could use just a screenshot at 3:54 of the road? thanks
Still crazy that Mike and EB killed were the last thing that little girl heard
*_Well, New intro is nice and I'm guessing we say goodbye to the passing coaster in the back._*
Will definitely be showing this video to people telling me coasters are unsafe!
Great intro, also one of the weirdest rides to do a video like this on
While nothing is truly safe, the amount of riders vs deaths on rollercoasters is safer than any contact sport on earth and way safer than the drive there.
By far the greatest Coaster channel online. The quality, production, and passion stand far above anything else out there, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. We love and appreciate all the work!
Should add a small coaster going around the spot light in the intro :)
Very nice informative mini docu!
That boy climbing on that roller coaster - I could barely watch it from my living room! My hands are sweating- I’m like yelling at my tv. You will have to use a tranquilizer before I will let go and drop into some “rescue basket” Lord have mercy
I swear I had a dream about a Roller Coaster like this the other day
that intro is fire

Crazy Production
Are you guys getting back on cameo? I was looking to purchase one for a while but it has just said you guys would be available for cameos early march 2024 for a while now
We will be back, we paused it while we’re in Europe
Hey man, sometimes 1-2 minutes is all you need. Nothing wrong with that.
Should be satisfied if they do it right
Incredible video!! And also thank you for showing the other aspect that people aren't aware of, opening procedures!!! You would be surprised how many people aren't aware that a checklist is required by maintenance AND daily operators. A ride of any type cannot open without all the checks being done before the ride opens and its extremely important!
AHHHH!! NEW INTRO!!
