I completely agree I'm running this on my HDO twos and could not be happier. I also had the option to get DJI and passed because you can't do long-range the way you can do it with this
Really nice, dude! Great flying there! 😊
Thanks MC!
Great review Jon! Desperately need Rapidfire and probably just gonna go with this setup, thx for the links and setup details....as always , well done!!
Thanks man! Really appreciate the feedback
happy flying thanks for the info cheers
Thanks MAC!
Cool. On my aomway v1 I use a xair patch and a triumph Omni. I did range testing and it was solid out to abt 700 yds. Then I got behind trees a little that’s all the distance I have at that spot that’s a clear LOS. That xair was like 40 itself though.
Before that I used the aomway clover and patch. It was ok but I would say my range has increased 25% or more and the clarity is much bettwr
Aye! haha, Jon strikes again. I'm trying to pick up some antennas for my TBS Fusion, d'you have any new recommendations? Been looking at the Crosshair and also the Luminier Doubles
Haven’t upgraded my antennas in a while, busy buying quads, lol. WILL TRY!
Go for it! Such a difference in many environments
My Opinion. VAS is the best. I have same set up now. I Hope to get some of that Man Of Steele range. 👍🏼👍🏼
Able to penetrate tall buildings in a single bind.
Ion antennas are the best. I just got the VAS peperbox. Should be good test compared to this extreme. Great video 💯🔥🔥🔥
Thanks ac! Pepper box is also a great option
Thanks 4 posting this!!!! I need 2 know whats best for my fat sharks!
Great man,,ill try this out when i get my rapidfire,,,, i just check it in chinese website,,expensive😭
I have been looking at the crosshair patch. I have a VAS Ion. Wonder if I would get similar results with the Vas ion v1 and the crosshair or does it have something to do with the ION v2?
I’ve had really good luck with all vas stuff. If you already have the v1 Omni, id say get the crosshair extreme and see how it goes.
If it looks great then I’d just go w that.
Hey! What atennas would you recommend for EV800D w/ mobula7 or can it get any better without a stronger vtx?
I’d recommend the budget combo I listed in description. For a linear antenna the switch blade can run without either cap and it is linear. It’s really 3 antennas in 1 and only $15
That paired with triple feed patch can really grow with you to any goggles you ever upgrade to.
my right ear feeled left out
What antenna are you running on your quad?
Hey man, can you link those elbows? Bought both of the antenna’s bit would like those elbows you use.
These are the elbows i use www.banggood.com/custlink/DGDD51VzPL
Quick question a little off topic. Do you think these antennas will work for your home WiFi? I’m trying to get signal out to my garage and my WiFi extender isn’t strong enough. The antennas on my extender are the same as your stock goggles antennas.
Im afraid this is a little out of my yscope of knowledge. My first notion, is that it wont work because they are tuned differently. But alex greeve (IBCRAZY), the designer of both of these antennas would know best.
I just bought the mad mushroom v2 and it says it can be used for professional WiFi applications. "The wide bandwidth makes it useful for not just FPV, but HD video links and high performance WiFi applications."
Can you reply with the amazon link to the SMA adapters you talked about in the videos? Thnx.
Here is the adapters I am using. I will update the description as well thanks.
amzn.to/2VSzxtd
@@JonE5FPV Are those both 90 degree sma adapters? The one on the crosshair extreme doesn't look like it's 90. Just asking because I'm buying this.
@@RenageTV one is a 90 on the ion omni, and using a 45 on the patch
What is the difference between the VAS Ion V2 and the Mad Mushroom Ion V2 ?
I wondered this as well, i believe mad mushroom is also a great antenna, but has a different dbic and a different axial ratio (so differnt beam pattern). I think for our purposes either one would work well, but i like the small size of the ion 2, easy to fit into a fat shark case.
can you tell me what song is that at the end? thankx
It is by an artist called Lakey Inspired. Check him out
Have you tried the axii or the strix hoot? Are you still flying with it?
Still using this setup for RHCP. For LH im using the triple feed patch + VAS switchblade. One day ill upgrade my LH to this same setup. I use the axii stubby on my quad (as well as foxeer lollipop)
@@JonE5FPV do you fly any whoop with that setup, are you using rapidfire mode?
I do yes. Majority of my whoop and micro videos are w same setup here.
Best option would actually be the bandicoot linear patch and the vas switchblade with no cap (making it linear). Which I actually have both, but usually I’m to lazy to go switch the antennas and signal for whooping is already so good w Rapidfire
So a year later would still recommend this a year later? Lol should have asked this question first before i ordered it i guess
Yes it would still be my pick for analog
Great recommendation bro was very impressed with the extra range even on 25mw went out pretty damn far. Thanx again
Im thinking about getting a vas crosshair extreme. However I couldn’t find a comparison between it and the triple patch. Is it worth more than double the price?
Imo it is not double performance. Most times if you want the “best” it is not twice as good even if twice the price. Triple feed is very good as well.
No actual testing so take with a grain of salt but if I had to guess I’d say maybe 25-30% better under bad conditions.
In good conditions (short distance, clear line of sight, they will both be almost perfect)
Jon E5 FPV thank you, I really appreciate it! Think I’ll get the VAS. I decided not to make any compromises at the video reception
I don't understand what's the difference between right hand and left hand? Does it matter?
One rejects the other. It doesnt matter, as long as the antennas on your quad and the antennas on your goggle are all the same polarization. So if you go with RH, get RH for your goggles, and RH for your quad.
We use it mostly for racing, up to 8 pilots. By alternating LR and RH, you can get more people in the air at once. (because LH antennas reject RH signals, and vice versa).
@@JonE5FPV oh ok I get it now..your the the man thank you so much for your help really..
come on 899 subs!!!
Soo close! 100 more to go now!
what's teh difference between the vas ion 2 and the vas mad mushroom 2?
different dba/gain etc... (spread)
@@JonE5FPV could you explain further? I was lookign at the vas site and couldn't tell the difference between the two. Steele has the mad mushroom v2 with a long cable branded as the ethix mad mushroom v2. I purchased that one but I'm wondering if I should have gotten the ion.
thanks for the reply
The madmushroom has a 1.4 dBi rating and the IonV2 is 2.2 ...although the EthixLTD Madmushy has a 90'elbow built in....I have heard that each brass connector you add removes some sensitivity...so in the end all is equal...unless you have a ground station with a vertical feed... hmmm
Should I but the ion v2 or the tbs triumph, have you tried that yet? I can afford it if I need to
IMO, they are both very good, i personally prefer the Ion 2
Great information but the vocal audio only being on the left made this completely unbearable to listen to on my headphones.
So sorry about that. Early days before I upgraded a lot of my equipment. Let me know if the newer stuff is any better.
I don't understand.... you seem smart and make pretty good videos. But the audio is crappy and muffled and only coming out left side of stereo. Why do you have good editing, decent video production and completely crappy audio?
Ive been in the process of testing 2-3 new mics trying to improve audio but i guess i dropped the ball here. I have 1 new one that is dual channel, and the old one is single channel and I have to duplicate the audio channel to the other channel.
I have about 10-12 videos recorded at any given time, and i usually edit them and upload in a different order than i record. I got used to no longer duplicating the audio channels, but this must have been done on my old mic setup.
Thanks for pointing that out, ill need to double check anything that was recorded a while back. Apologies for the crappy audio on this one, and thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
I was about to leave the same comment about good video, bad audio. You win.
Why are you showing different antennas and pointing at stuff but not saying anything or writing what you mean?
