yes judo does look very boring but its very effective.. mix judo with other forms of martial arts such as karate and brazillian jiu-jitzu and its what many MMA fighters use! judo is essentual for many MMA fighter to be able to throw opponents to the ground.
Raymond Murphy Alongside wrestling, and because wrestling is more popular in the states, it is more of a replacement for Judo. I still think Judo and wrestling are as equally good because they are both stiff and effective.. Don't even start me on BJJ, that is my favourite type of martial arts :)
Raymond Murphy yes Raymond, Judo may look softer but it's not, it's a very smart combat sport, i am a kick boxer, but the day i learned Judo i realized that it was a very important martial art especially for street fight, it's not easier to beat a Judoka easly. a very tricky martial art.
If you pause it, you can see his eyes looking down at the girls hand and pen/pencil, and he just pushes them out of the way, knocking the pen/pencil out of the girls hand on his way to hug the other dude. That was very rude.
...and he seems never satisfied of his technique, he keeps improving...He's far better since Rio 2005. This uchi-mata is very beautiful, the form is very good, expecially for a +100kg. Great champion...
That's the point. You're arguing the practicality and usage of Capoeira but in combat it's essentially useless. A martial art like Judo, however, is not. Quick and powerful takedowns, throws, sweeps and slams along with submissions edges out anything Capoeira offers.
EL FRANCES TEDDY RINER HA DEMOSTRADO SER UNO DE LOS MEJORES JUDOCAS DEL MUNDO Y LO HA DEMOSTRADO UNA VEZ MAS AL VENCER EN EL GRAND SLAMPARIS 2013 EN LA FINAL AL KOREANO KIN SUNG-MIN
Bjj has takedowns (2 points) but matches go for 5-11 minutes (depending on rank). You win by points or submission. Guys who do Bjj with judo & wrestling backgrounds do really well standing. But you don't win a match with one throw in Bjj. That was an awesome Uchi Mata in the video. Sorry don't know judo rules.
the point of judo is to throw the person to the ground with enough force that if they were waring armor they would not be able to get up, or hold them down long enough that a fellow solder could come up and stab them. It comes for ju jitsu the killing arts of japan used in battle and refined so its a less lethal art but easier to practice and train.
Just watched a Kendo MAtch , Judo Match ,and a few others , i gotta say id much rather just watch MMA where all the disciplines come together , some are just way too boring and limited on their own
boring to you because your preferential bias is a love of different movement done in a combat sports. maybe even boxing is boring to you where it allows only punching and yet this sports is one of the most viewed sports especially in international competition-not MMA. To me judo is not boring because it shows on me how one will apply the technical method of judo and this make it to me not boring.
"russellmorris521 month ago Just watched a Kendo MAtch , Judo Match ,and a few others , i gotta say id much rather just watch MMA where all the disciplines come together " I'm pretty sure Kendo isn't used in MMA.
russellmorris52 The point of this sport is a battle of balance and strategy. Just because they're not bleeding all over shouldn't make them boring. MMA ends up being a kick-boxing or grappling match anyways.
Good job Ted, but i also have to tip my hat of to Kim he did put Teddy on the defensive briefly twice during the fight. Takes guts to go up against Riner.
...???...Ryu Shichinohe (Japan) is 24, Teddy Riner (France) is 23. And the age is hardly relevant, don't you think? All japanese athletes tend to fight less than those of other countries. It's a matter of national averege level: it's far more difficult to get to the national team for a japanese. They have a continuous turnover, only the greatest among the greatest keep their place for long time...in terms of experience outside japan they always fall behind other judo nationals...
That's not necessarily true. Koga and Kimura would disagree with your notion of bigger Judokas winning with sheer size and brute strength. It may be true nowadays but Judo has gone under a transformation. Judokas made Jiu-Jitsu practitioners appear like pussies in comparison back in the day but these new rules are just dragging down the sport.
in judo if you are naturally big and good at judo you will usually win. This combat sports is best for better guys like that black guy. No matter how technically and tactically but you are small, say 5'4' you will not win over even to a mediocre judo player who is big. He can tackle you using brute strenght combine with some techinque.
The commentator is useless as always, he doesn't even know what he's talking about. Shichinohe has 15 matches outside japan (and lost half of them), Riner has like 150 matches: he's lost only once in the last 4 years, undefeated in the last 2 years. There's a matter of experience and confidence, how can anyone not mention this? Incompetent...
It's not. There's a legitimate reason why Capoeira isn't a striking base used in MMA... because it's all flash and entertainment (similar to Movie Fu). I have faced a Capoeirista before and it ended with me knee-crushing him.
What's sad is you actually believe Capoeira would serve you well in combat, or in a street fight. Yeah... good luck with that kid. This ain't Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.
What is the point of judo? What does it help you do? Not saying it in a rude way, just never knew what the main purpose of it is. Can someone please help me?
Could any judo practitioner tell me, what does the commentator mean by 'look at the left leg' in 7:32? Everything looks very impressive but I don't understand what was so great in this particular part of throw.
This must be very old because Teddy is breaking the other guy's grip with 2 hand there for it is a shido. and then Teddy gets another shido for fighting negatively because he is just breaking Kim's grip and not fighting and then Kim also get's a shido for exactly the same thing. And then again they must both get another shido for kicking each other. WOW this is evantually going to lead to hansukomaki because they are both not fighting.
"Hey, you want to dance, come on!" "No, leave me alone!" "let's hold hands then." "no leave me alone" "what's in your shirt, let me see!" "no, no, no," "let's just dance".
I haven't seen any actual Judo videos before, and this is my first one. People who says this is boring are probably inexperienced in martial arts in general in my opinion. Just watching this shows a bit of the intensity in the fight. People who are saying this is boring, should really open their eyes.
that was one of the worst fights ive ever watched.there was no aggression, virtually no skill, the fact that kim allowed himself to be thrown shows how bad he is as ive never seen a throw so advertised in my life.
judo is a martial art. it is based on throws and submissions. the point of judo is to either throw the guy on his back or get him to tap out. It helps in self defense because if you know the skills you can throw an opponent down on the ground or choke him if you have to.
SwedishGrammarPolice actually they did use judo u see judo come from traditional jujitsu which come from samurai dojos (they use it to fight armed and armored opponent after u lose ur weapon )
Wow. Competitive judo. :( Do they even know what uke is any more after they decide to go for a trophy. :( There's a better way to get females. It's called being a great 'uke.' :)
Do you know judo? Jean-Sébastien Bonvoisin, who is 173cm tall (5'8''), beat Renat Saidov on ne-waza for bronze medal in 2013 european championship. Renat Saidov is taller than Riner, probably about 210cm (6'11''). You don't know anything about judo Have a look at Abdullo Tangriev fights too
when you really don't feel like hugging

Thought this was gonna be some karate kid shit but it was just two guys tugging at each other’s shirts
I LOVE HOW THE SOUND IS ONLY IN MY LEFT EAR
Yea my headphones only work in the right so I got it worse

Yeah, when you get two people this good, it becomes mostly mind games while they try and get an opportunity to attack.
Raymond Murphy Alongside wrestling, and because wrestling is more popular in the states, it is more of a replacement for Judo. I still think Judo and wrestling are as equally good because they are both stiff and effective.. Don't even start me on BJJ, that is my favourite type of martial arts :)

+Pascal-Ricky MNK in judo, timing, setup and technique is important. trust me, I've been there :3
+Raymond Murphy As soon as they're on the ground you can do pretty much anything :P
my left ear enjoyed this

Jody Wagner
Guy is exhausted, I don't think he knocked it n purpose
Happy birthday to goo
I wonder what a judo match would look/operate like if they didn't wear uniforms?
just like wrestling my guy
...and he seems never satisfied of his technique, he keeps improving...He's far better since Rio 2005. This uchi-mata is very beautiful, the form is very good, expecially for a +100kg. Great champion...
I like how the girl wanted an autograph and he just knocked her pen to ground like it wasnt shit lmao

He appeared in the Kengan Omega manga.
I thought I was the only one who noticed it

My left hear liked the video.
The aim is to squeeze the opponent's nipple? You win? Isn't that what they are trying to do?
Can't wait to see Teddy lose. That would be a great fight to watch.
+Judo Highlights In 2197 maybe.
Judo Highlights watch to
Judo Highlights against ilias iliadis. But iliadis doesn't have rinner's weight
Amazing! I love Teddy!!!!!!!!!!
SO wait, you just have to toss a person once and you win in Judo???? Wow this sport sucks!!
what LEFT leg?? I kept watching.. and it's always the RIGHT leg.. damn the commentator..
Among all grappling arts including bjj and wrestling, judo is less gay.
Teddy Riner, biggest baddest man of judo
I just started practicing judo, I think it's gonna hurt...
nah, just have common sense and trust people more expierienced than you. It will be fine. You will get hurt sometimes, but it's not the norm
Bjj has takedowns (2 points) but matches go for 5-11 minutes (depending on rank). You win by points or submission. Guys who do Bjj with judo & wrestling backgrounds do really well standing. Power speed
When you trying to hug your gf during her period
Riner could do Harai goshi instead uchi mata at the last action of the match... and the korean could do ippon seoi nage or deashi basrai

Holy shit, 5:44 look how huge that guy is.

***** the ending is on the ground sure we live with the gravity but he mean it start with striking and continue with grappling
Good job Ted, but i also have to tip my hat of to Kim he did put Teddy on the defensive briefly twice during the fight. Takes guts to go up against Riner.
1:40 gilet jaune ?!?!?!

Ich möchte auch damit anfangen. Bin 13. Dir viel Spass weiterhin :)
keep it up
And nobody cares ...
Love JD !! I am re-starting at 45 !!! 😬😵😊☺😉
This is boringgggggg!
It's not. There's a legitimate reason why Capoeira isn't a striking base used in MMA... because it's all flash and entertainment (similar to Movie Fu). I have faced a Capoeirista before and it ended with me knee-crushing him.
u just need to execute a deadly judo move and slam ur opponent and if u want to u can kill him with that move
What's sad is you actually believe Capoeira would serve you well in combat, or in a street fight. Yeah... good luck with that kid. This ain't Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.

MY SON IS DOING JUDO AND KICKBOXING. I THINK JUDO IS GREAT FOR MMA, LOOK AT THE GREAT JAPANESE FIGHTERS IN PRIDE MMA.
My son is doing Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Thats better combination, because he also knows clinch technique, and how to use elbows and knees.
and im just sitting here
Masturbating :D
FPScounter my son is a dragon slayer on skyrim.
Well that's just great! :D
FPScounter My classmates are kendo and naginata practitioners, if only they could bring close-ranged weapons into MMA too XD

They should have changed the rules so that if you throw but on landing don't have control of your opponent its not an ippon and can go into newaza.

It's not. Get over it. It's only dangerous to an opponent who can't fight. I swear, you Capoeira guys are just as bad as Aikido nuthuggers.
Lol awesome!!!!
why does the blue guy wear napkins between his fingers?
Nice
E tira e tira, sempre quello... abbracciatevi e bona XD
Super uchi mata Teddy:)
"Hey, you want to dance, come on!" "No, leave me alone!" "let's hold hands then." "no leave me alone" "what's in your shirt, let me see!" "no, no, no," "let's just dance".

Shichinohe is Korean not Japanese, 2 years older than Teddy, plenty of experience, but still not a match
This is wack. Grown men grabbing each others clothes and holding hands.. not what I was expecting
Yah judo
I don't get the rules of this I only watch because I'm gonna learn judo and I want a jump start
that was one of the worst fights ive ever watched.there was no aggression, virtually no skill, the fact that kim allowed himself to be thrown shows how bad he is as ive never seen a throw so advertised in my life.
KKK... (brincadeirinha)
Almost as boring as nascar

Basically, to win a judo match is to throw your opponent to the grown properly. A chance to win by submission in such a match is 30 to 1.
môn võ thuần nhu,lợi hại với đòn quật ,ném
much study in this fight. Sometimes like boring for crowd, but really is not for martial artist
No one gonna mention the girls pencil that fell when she asked for an autograph and he ignored her 😂
