My favorite race in the Elder Scroll universe. I had no idea the lore of the time in Yokuda was so fleshed out. Most of my knowledge of them comes from the time of post tamriel invasion.
Its heavily hinted that the next elder scrolls will be in hammerfell... and ive always thought our player character will be the latest avatar/manifestation of hoonding.
Will you also do video about Reachman? They are very interesting people with unique culture and actions of some of them left an mark in Tamriel history?

The Forbears are not descendants of the Sword Singers, but the general warrior caste of Yokuda which where the soldiers of the Ra Gada wave who killed off the other inhabitants of Hammerfell. While the Natumbo led the armies and were the nobility of Ruling Class of Yokuda.
Why didn't you guys ever finish this series? It makes me so sad. Elder Scrolls is one of the richest fantasy worlds in gaming and you guys are some of the best at lore videos. There's still so much left for you guys to cover. Including the remaining races, religious pantheons, etc.
BEAUTIFUL JUST BEAUTIFUL, THE GREAT ANIMATIONS AND VISUALS WITH YOURE PERFECT CHOICE OF MUSIC AND YOURE AWESOME COMMENTARY IS JAW DROPING🤩🤩 thank you so much
They have some awesome lore and great characters through the series. The Redguard game is also actually pretty good and Cyrus is one of the best Elder Scrolls characters.
Good video but a few things to point out. At the beginning of the great war the imperial legions fought along side the redguards in hanmerfell and even after signing the peace treaty the many of the imperial legion men staioned in hammerfell stayed behind to help fight against the dominion so while the redguards undoubtedly fought fiercely to defend their home to imply they done so by themselves isnt true. Also its implied in the video that the redguards never accepted peace with the dominion out of pride or honour, but that's not the case either. The peace treaty gave large swaths of hammerfell to the dominion, thats why the redguards never accepted peace because they were going to lose land, kind of an important fact to miss out. The redguards didn't accept peace like everyone else because they had the most to lose. Also it's mentioned a little in the video but it really can't be understated that the red guarda really are prone to um "disappearing" anyone aren't like them and even brought some races, like the keptu and the gaint goblins, to complete extinction. Redguards are undoubtedly one of the cooler races, but I feel like this video portayed them in the best possible light when in reality they really are a morally grey people which makes them more interesting.
They did fight alone..To say it isn't true is silly..In real history, when nations stood alone, they still often had help from various peoples.. But if you dont have sovereign support,,, Then we say "Stood alone".. Because that's what effectively happens in such cases.
@markmorris7123 except they literally didn't. It says in the lore that when the Aldmeri dominion landed on the southern shores of Hammerfell the redguards forces "offered scattered resistance" and the outnumbered imperial forces retreated across the desert in what's known as the march of thirst. The aldmeri dominion then took control of the whole of southern Hammerfell which was their goal. It was only when the imperial legion that marched across the desert regrouped in northern Hammerfell and got reinforcements from High rock, which again would have been other races mostly Bretons and Orcs, did the fight in Hammerfell turn in the red guards favour. To be clear at this point the redguards, specifically the Forebears, were putting up a fight but it was the imperial legions in the area with reinforcements from high rock that was doing most of the heavy lifting. The main opponent to the aldmeri dominion in hammerfell was literally an imperial commander called Decianus. When Decianus was ordered to bring his legions back to cyrodill he left behind the majority of his most veterans units to stay behind in Hammerfell to continue the fight. Its specifically said in the lore that these veterans formed the cire of the army that eventually pushed the dominion out of Hammerfell. So not only did the redguards not fight alone, they weren't even the main adversaries of the dominion in hammerfell.
I love the art style of your videos! I hope you soon find time to continue this series and that it'll be about the dunmer next 😊 I could use some cultural lore input for my writing project 😉
Great video, thanks. It'd be cool if you could mention where you are pulling different pieces of lore from though. Bethesda has always been fast and loose with lore... retcons, scrapped ideas, new ideas that're dropped later, etc. If you mention sources it'd help viewers work out which parts are more reliable, rather than suggesting all of it is canon.
Unlike the Redguards nords are too weak to take their land, They should take notes from their dark skin human brothers who singlehanded took their land from the thalmor and empire 😬

The redguards come in all shapes and colours. They are based on Arabs who can also be light skinned. In the games there are plenty of lighter skinned red guards and the character creation also let's you change the colour of redguards to almost Caucasian levels of white.
