Same here. I thought removing the trim seemed unnecessary. Watching you do it was reassuring. Mine hasn’t broken. But I’ve already bought a replacement as it would seem inevitable that it will happen. Good tip above about the silicon and I’ll look out my mallet if it needs it. Cheers mate
I had actually thought this might be a way to do extract the broken stub but your video gave me the confidence to try it. Success,!!!!!!!!!it took longer to watch the video than replace the part. My tip is give the new part a little squirt of dry silicon lubricant before fitting just so it slides in nice without having to whack too hard it and risk distortion. Mine went in just with just a clout from my hand. You mate, are an absolute genius, and saved me about two hours swearing practice. Cheers.

Best fix. I'm going to then screw the two broken parts together while waiting for the replacement
