Thanks for the shout out man! Looking forward to more videos!
Your videos are not boring, they are informative and act as a guide for those of us that love wrenching on our Miatas, so keep filming and posting please.
Thank you I greatly appreciate that!
Agreed
yes, Mitch, you(And Colored in Light) are the only ones actually making NC content worth a damn right now. please keep doing it.
Thank you! I will keep having at it !
Great vid Mitch, keep them coming 👍🏻
I haven't found the boring part yet ... I love your content !
Thank you I appreciate that!
Dope!
You video just made me realize I've been using my power bleeder wrong all this time... wow. Thank you!
Haha really? How were you using it!?
@@MitchelYardley I used it dry, just as a way to pressurize the brake system. So I would top off the fluid, used the power bleeder to build pressure, bleed 1 brake, top off the fluid again, repressurize again, etc etc.... I can't believe I never looked for instructions before!
@@ricardosabatino3172 I do this intentionally, not putting fluid into the bleeder means I don't have to clean it afterwards
@@Chuckieh0 That makes sense, but it's annoying to have to repressurize so often, I assume with the brake fluid inside you pressurize once and bleed all corners in one go
Yup will do all corners no problem once the psi is set from the beginning
good stuff!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for making these videos for us 2.5 NC miata folks. Not a whole lot content on yt, and it's hard to find the content that does exist so we few appreciate it!
What hardtop is that? how do you like it, and how much did you get it for? Looking at that as my next upgrade
I appreciate the feedback and kind words. I will continue to make videos for sure!
So the hardtop is from DGMotorsports. Its a fiberglass top, basically a race skin, so not a good streetable hardtop. Perfect for my car as its a track car only. I actually bought the car with the top on it already so that was a huge score.
Go for the XIDA’s!
I think thats the plan!
Great video as always 👏🏼🖤
I have a few questions if you don't mind, I just got me a set of RPF1S and they're a 17×9 so before I choose which tyre size I would like I thought I'd ask you about what size your RPF1S are and what do you recommend, FYI my car isn't a track build BUT I might turbocharge it sometime soon, that's why I'm a little conflicted on the matter 😅
As for the brakes, again I might turbocharge and I'm looking at my options, do you think changing the pads alone would do or do I have to get a little fancy?
Last question, why would you wanna downgrade from aftermarket to stock anti-sway bars?! I just got mine so I was like 🙂💔
Your friend from Saudi 😁✌🏼 keep up the great work 👏🏼
Thank you!
For a street car a 17x9 wheel is perfect, and for turbo I would go minimum a 235 tire. But I think the better option would be a 245/40.
My wheels are 17x10 which in hindsight I think I personally didn’t need. Even for a track car.
For brakes, I’m not up to date on good sets of street pads but that’s what I would recommend and for street use drilled and slotted is completely fine and in my mind better as the cooling will be better.
For the sway bars, on a stock-ish car with less spring rate on the coilovers, aftermarket sway bars are a great option. But there comes a time where you going to stiff on the sway bar rate tends to make the physical coilover not fully do it’s job in compressing and such. More or less, on my car I feel the coilovers and sway bars are fighting against each other and neither are doing their correct jobs.
Hope this helps!
@@MitchelYardley It does thanks, I have a streetish coilovers set up from Tein and I have the progress sway bars from goodwin so I have the choice to run them stiffer or softer as it fits my needs, so hopefully it won't be an issue.
As for the tyres, good to know, as I understand going for a tyre that is a little wider than the wheel makes the sidewall softer and so it might numb the feel and response of the car, did you feel that in any way when you went from a 255 to a 245? Excuse my inexperience but I'm just worried the 245 would be too wide for my 9 inch wide wheel, what are your thoughts on that?
I didn’t truly feel a difference In handling going from 255 down to a 245 on my specific car. Correct, to wide of a tire can make the car feel numb. Hence why I’m going to drop the size down again to see if anything changes
I think 245 on a x9 should sit pretty flush, the sidewall to wheel.
245's on my rpf 17x9. amazing grip
How many track days do you get out of a set of Falken RT660s?
Thanks for the great info! I just bought and NC and have a track day coming in a month.
Depending on how many sessions you do and how long you are out there for the sessions, I would expect you to get a solid 3-4 track days out of them. The first 2 being the grippiest.
@@MitchelYardley thank you!
You never put the link for the brake stopper in the description.
You’re correct. That is fixed now. Thank you
I have a set of stock sways I’m not using
I may have lined up a set. Thank you though!
Is it me or your liwer control arm looks cracked at 7:10min?
Good catch but no it’s not thank fully, that’s left over tire material that wedged itself in the mount of the coilover
Really curious that you are downsizing in tyres, for this season I am going the other way and bigger, full set of 255/40's
I didn’t feel any faster on the 255s vs the 245s.
